The Calm Before War
Days passed without any attacks.
But no one felt safe.
The academy remained on high alert.
Students whispered about the ruins, the hunters, and the mysterious commander.
Inside his room, Kael sat quietly, looking at his hand.
The Abyss Ring glowed faintly.
His power had grown again.
But the memory of that battle still lingered.
Seraphine stood near the window.
"They're not gone," she said.
Kael nodded.
"I know."
Leon entered the room suddenly.
"They'll come back," he said.
Kael looked at him.
Leon smirked.
"And when they do… I'm not losing again."
Kael stood up slowly.
"Good."
He looked toward the horizon.
Far beyond the academy walls.
"They're preparing."
Seraphine crossed her arms.
"And so are we."
Kael's eyes glowed faintly with abyss energy.
The war hadn't started yet.
But everyone could feel it.
It was coming.
