Entering the Unknown
There was no discussion after that.
No hesitation.
Kael stepped forward.
"We go in."
Leon didn't even question it.
"About time."
Seraphine sighed slightly—but followed.
The team moved as one, cutting through the creatures guarding the gate. Compared to what awaited inside, they were nothing more than obstacles.
Kael didn't even slow down.
Abyss energy flowed through him naturally now.
Controlled.
Focused.
Deadly.
They reached the gate.
The air vibrated.
The mark on Kael's chest burned intensely.
Then—
They stepped through.
The world on the other side was nothing like before.
This wasn't a dead land.
This was alive.
Dark skies stretched endlessly above them, swirling with unnatural storms. Massive structures floated in the distance, defying gravity.
And the ground beneath them…
Moved.
Leon looked down.
"…Yeah, I don't like that."
Kael remained silent.
Because he recognized this place.
Not from memory.
But from instinct.
"This is it," he said quietly.
"The Abyss."
Seraphine nodded slowly.
"Yes."
"You've crossed the threshold."
Kael looked forward.
And for the first time—
He felt like he didn't fully belong in his own world anymore.
