Nalubamba finally called Mwiya again.
"Mwiya, something is wrong," she whispered, trembling. "She is destroying the household."
Mwiya, still in Lusaka, replied calmly, "She is family. We must be patient."
"But she is controlling everything!" Nalubamba pleaded.
The line went silent. The distance between them felt unbearable.
