Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 – Conflict Between the Dwarf and the Elf

In Orario, the status of adventurers is unquestionably the highest. This is something everyone acknowledges.

That is because only those who join a god's Familia and receive the Falna (Divine Blessing) can become strong enough to fight the monsters inside the Dungeon.

Although there are technically no restrictions on entering the Dungeon, the survival rate of ordinary people who enter it is extremely low.

Not to mention someone going into the Dungeon for half a month without Falna.

Doing it once might be luck.

But surviving for over half a month purely on luck? That's impossible.

"Finn, are you certain about this?" Loki asked.

"Yes."

"Raul knows someone in District Three who once saw Cao Ye."

"That person claimed he saw Cao Ye return once covered in wounds, and he even thought Cao Ye wouldn't survive."

"It seems Freya discovered a gem," Loki said.

A hint of envy flashed in her eyes, along with a trace of worry.

Although the Loki Familia was doing very well now, they were still slightly inferior to the Freya Familia.

Especially in terms of top-tier combat power.

They didn't have a Level 7 adventurer.

In the previous golden age of Orario, there were adventurers at Level 7, Level 8, and even Level 9.

Because of that, Loki understood very clearly the gap between Level 6 and Level 7.

It had always been one of her concerns.

As an evil god, Loki was far from kind-hearted.

Although she and Freya currently coexisted peacefully, it was only because the power difference between their Familias wasn't too large.

If the Freya Familia ever gained a second Level 7 or even a Level 8, Loki had no doubt Freya would take action against her.

After all, Loki herself had once done exactly that.

Back then, she and Freya worked together to overthrow the Zeus Familia and the Hera Familia, rising to dominance themselves.

If the opportunity appeared again, Freya would certainly repeat history.

And Loki would do the same.

After all, who wouldn't want their Familia to stand alone at the top?

Peace was merely the result of temporary balance.

"I also obtained some information," Riveria said.

"I learned something about Cao Ye from a junior at the Guild."

"What is it?"

"This Cao Ye has a very lazy personality and does whatever he wants."

"According to the description, he spends less than half a day in the Dungeon each day, sometimes not even a third of a day."

"Hm?"

Everyone was stunned by this.

Especially Finn.

As Loki Familia's long-time rival to Freya Familia, he knew how intense their internal competition was.

Their members trained like madmen in order to grow stronger.

If Loki Familia was like a harmonious family, then Freya Familia was more like a high-pressure corporate company.

A Familia driven by extreme internal competition.

"Freya allows this?" Finn asked.

"I'm not sure," Riveria replied.

"But he often wanders around Orario and frequently visits The Hostess of Fertility."

"He spends money very freely, so he probably isn't short of funds."

"That's strange," Finn muttered.

"If he really is talented, would Freya allow him to waste his potential like that?"

Such behavior would normally mean wasting a prodigy.

But Freya wasn't the type to do that.

Otherwise, the infamous Battlefield Wilderness training program wouldn't exist.

It was the cruelest Familia training system in all of Orario.

"Oh, one more thing," Riveria added.

"He probably lives inside Babel Tower."

"There's proof he comes down from Babel Tower every day and returns there at night."

At that moment, Finn added another detail.

Loki's brain nearly overheated.

Living in Babel Tower was extremely rare.

Even among gods, only a few had the privilege.

If he were just an average adventurer, how could he possibly be allowed to live there?

Loki rubbed her head.

There was too little information, and what they had was too scattered.

It was impossible to draw a clear conclusion.

"I really don't understand what you're all debating," someone suddenly said.

"If you want to know what kind of guy this Cao Ye is, just go meet him."

"What's the point of endless discussion here?"

It was Gareth who spoke.

His words showed the typical straightforward nature of dwarves.

His statement made the entire room fall silent.

Loki, Finn, and Riveria looked at one another.

Each clearly thinking something.

"You make it sound simple," Riveria said.

"Who should approach him?"

"He belongs to the Freya Familia."

"If we suddenly contact him, don't you think Freya might misunderstand?"

"So we just sit here and talk?" Gareth replied bluntly.

"What good does that do?"

"Then you tell me—who should approach him?"

"You? Or me?"

"Are you picking a fight, you annoying elf?"

"Watch your mouth, brainless dwarf!"

The atmosphere instantly changed.

What started as a discussion about Cao Ye suddenly turned into internal conflict.

Riveria and Gareth both had fiery tempers.

Although they had fought together for many years and trusted each other in the Dungeon…

That didn't mean they had no disagreements.

In fact, historically elves and dwarves rarely got along.

Arrogant elves and stubborn dwarves had clashed for centuries.

Even though they belonged to the same Familia and had cooperated for years, conflicts still occurred frequently.

"Alright, alright, both of you calm down," Finn quickly intervened.

Over the years, arguments between Gareth and Riveria had often escalated into physical fights.

Although they always maintained limits, as leaders they couldn't behave that way now.

"Hmph."

Gareth stepped back first.

Riveria also suppressed her emotions and returned to her usual noble and composed demeanor.

Seeing his two old companions, Finn could only sigh helplessly.

After all these years, their tempers hadn't changed at all.

"Actually," Finn said,

"Cao Ye seems to have a good relationship with an old friend of mine."

"Your old friend?"

"Yes."

"Edward."

"Oh, Edward…"

"But how did he meet Cao Ye?"

"I'm not sure."

"I just happened to see them together when I went to drink with him."

Although the dwarf Edward was only Level 3, owning a stall inside Babel Tower's market was not something ordinary people could achieve.
