Chapter 45 - The Spark Lens

The room fell into complete silence.

Only Aran's breathing could be heard.

He took a deep breath and pressed a hand to his chest, feeling his heart beating faster than usual. His right hand tightened around the Spark Lens.

Recalling the transformation pose from his childhood memories, he suddenly swung his arm forward and raised it high above his head.

Like a thief afraid of being overheard, he lowered his voice and whispered,

"Ultraman Tiga… transform!"

...

Nothing happened.

The room remained silent.

Only his own voice echoed awkwardly before fading away.

The Spark Lens stayed raised above his head, its crystal surface reflecting the room's light beautifully.

But—

No radiant glow.

No miracle.

Aran froze in the pose for a few seconds.

Then blinked.

The excitement that had filled him deflated like a punctured balloon.

He slowly lowered his arm and stared at the completely unresponsive Spark Lens.

His face twitched slightly.

Taking another deep breath, he adjusted his stance and tried again.

Maybe the pose is wrong.

Or the line is wrong.

Think, Aran. Use that brain of yours.

But suddenly—

He froze.

A memory surfaced.

One of the key conditions to transform into Ultraman Tiga…

Was possessing the Light Gene left behind by ancient Ultra warriors.

In other words—

A specific bloodline.

"…Damn it!"

He finally snapped.

"So even childhood dreams require bloodline qualifications now?!"

"Of course it's a Japanese work—"

"Commoners don't get to be heroes, right?!"

After venting, he lowered his arm completely.

The embarrassment was enough.

Holding the Spark Lens, he teleported back to the main hall and dropped onto the sofa.

Although disappointed—

His mind quickly began working again.

During the battle with Gatanothor…

All the children on Earth turned into light and helped Tiga.

Does that mean the Light Gene exists in everyone…

But only Daigo awakened it?

He frowned.

Doesn't help me.

This is the Naruto world.

I'm basically a foreign transplant…

No Ultraman DNA here.

Did I really just pull a useless artifact?

Even a Victory Team fighter jet would've been more practical…

Shaking his head, Aran gave up on shortcuts.

Instead—

He poured his Sharingan eye power into the Spark Lens.

The energy flowed steadily—

Like mud sinking into the sea.

No response.

But he could feel it.

The Spark Lens was absorbing it.

Accumulating power.

Don't tell me this thing needs three years of charging…

Just to fight for three minutes?

Just as he was mentally complaining—

A voice came from the kitchen.

"Young Master, the midnight snack is ready."

It was Da Ju.

Aran placed the Spark Lens on the table and walked toward the kitchen, drawn by the smell of food.

Meanwhile…

Half-asleep, Da Ju licked its paw and waddled out of the kitchen after finishing its work.

It wandered into the living room and jumped onto the sofa.

Just as it was about to curl up—

Something caught its eye.

"Hmm?"

"What's this, meow?"

It tilted its head and leaned closer.

The Spark Lens lay quietly on the table.

Under the warm light—

It gave off a faint, sacred glow.

Yet strangely—

It also felt comfortable.

The young master's new toy again?

What a weird design, meow.

Since Aran often brought back strange items from other worlds, Da Ju didn't think much of it.

If it was left out in the open—

It couldn't be dangerous.

So—

Da Ju reached out with its fluffy paw.

And pressed it directly onto the Spark Lens.

At that exact moment—

The Spark Lens lit up.

A soft, pure light flowed through it like living energy.

Da Ju froze.

Then grabbed it with both paws and began waving it around like a toy wand.

Tilting its head, it inspected it carefully.

A moment later—

Disappointment appeared clearly on its round face.

"It doesn't make nice sounds…"

"And the light isn't bright enough…"

"It's not flashy."

Da Ju sighed.

"A-Yan definitely wouldn't like this kind of toy."

"It's a failure, meow."

At the dining table—

Aran stared blankly at his cat.

Because—

That cat was casually waving the glowing Spark Lens around like a toy.

His brain nearly shut down.

What the hell…

Does Da Ju have Earth human DNA?!

Is it the chosen one?!

Is it about to become Ultraman Tiga?!

Is this even logical?!

A simp cat becoming the Giant of Light?!

Is this what "love is light" actually means?!

Aran felt his worldview collapse.

Then what about him?!

The future clan head—

The embodiment of love—

Was he really inferior to a cat?!

Seeing the item description—

"Love is light"—

Aran almost stopped thinking altogether.

His childhood dream…

Stolen.

By a fat cat obsessed with female cats.

Calm down.

Stay rational.

If Da Ju really becomes Tiga…

That might actually be useful.

A hidden trump card.

For both him and the clan.

He continued eating his midnight snack absentmindedly.

It's just Ultraman.

Worst case—I'll slap a Susanoo on it.

Instant flying unit.

Me, Aran—still invincible.

Still—

He kept watching nervously.

His heart rose and fell with every swing of the Spark Lens.

What if—

In the next second—

The cat suddenly shouted something heroic…

And blasted through the roof as a beam of light?

The thought alone made him uneasy.

Finally—

After getting bored—

Da Ju placed the Spark Lens back on the table and fell asleep.

Aran couldn't hold back anymore.

He instantly teleported over and grabbed it.

The moment his fingers touched it—

A strange sensation spread through his mind.

The Spark Lens…

Was responding to him.

Calling him.

"…Now what?"

From exclusive ownership—

To public access?

Is this some kind of tragic downgrade?

He rubbed his forehead.

His gaze shifted between the sleeping cat—

And the Spark Lens.

Could it be…

His eye power had altered its "requirements"?

He stopped thinking.

Forget it.

As long as it works—

That's enough.
