The rain slowly became softer.
Maya and Arjun were standing under the bus stop roof now. The sound of raindrops hitting the road created a calm rhythm around them.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Arjun noticed the notebook in Maya's hands.
"Is that your diary?" he asked curiously.
Maya quickly shook her head.
"No… it's not a diary."
"Then what is it?" Arjun asked.
Maya hesitated. She usually never showed her writing to strangers.
But something about Arjun felt different.
"It's a story," she said quietly.
Arjun's eyes brightened.
"You're a writer?"
Maya looked embarrassed.
"Not really… I just write small stories."
Arjun leaned against the bus stop pole and smiled.
"Stories are powerful," he said. "They can change people."
Maya looked at him with surprise.
Most people laughed when she talked about writing.
But Arjun didn't.
"Do you want to read it?" Maya asked slowly.
Arjun nodded.
She opened the notebook carefully.
Inside were pages filled with words, sketches, and small drawings of rainy days.
Arjun read the first page silently.
Then he looked up at Maya.
"This is beautiful," he said.
Maya blinked in surprise.
"Really?"
"Yes," Arjun said. "But there's something strange."
"What?" Maya asked.
Arjun pointed to the first line of the story.
It said:
"One day, during a heavy rain in Kolkata, a girl will meet a boy who loves the rain."
Arjun smiled mysteriously.
"Looks like your story just came true."
Maya felt a strange shiver.
Because she had written that line two years ago.
