Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 : “Bids, Blades, and a Queen Claimed”

Devta Bhak System: Rise of The Protector

Chapter 13 : "Bids, Blades, and a Queen Claimed"

In the hall, many warriors unconsciously clenched their fists. Saira clarified, "The auction will be joint. Both swords will choose their master together."

She was about to announce the starting price when a booming voice erupted from the crowd —

"Five hundred thousand gold coins!"

A mysterious smile played on Saira's lips. She didn't stop anyone. In the next instant, a storm of bids broke loose.

"Seven hundred thousand!"

"One million!"

Heavy voices began to echo from the VIP rooms as well. Prestigious families were determined to secure these swords for their heirs at any cost.

Suraj sat motionless in his chair. He looked at the swords as if they were objects from another realm. Suddenly, that familiar cold voice echoed in his mind.

[Ding!]

"Host, would you like to know the true origin of the Sun-Moon Swords and the history of their previous masters? Cost: 2 Devta-Bhakti Points."

Suraj's brow furrowed. He muttered to himself, "This system never changes its ways." He dismissed the notification instantly. He needed to focus on the present, not history.

Below, the bidding was touching the sky.

"One and a half million!"—Bangru's voice came from the VIP suite.

"Two million!"—Sundaram replied immediately.

But then, a voice rang out that silenced everyone.

"Four million gold coins ! "

The voice came from VIP Room Number 5 — a joint voice of two women. The entire hall fell into a stunned silence. Four million! It was an astronomical sum.

Saira's eyes gleamed. "Four million... going once... twice... and sold!"

As soon as the gavel hit, the swords were wrapped in velvet and taken away.

No one in the hall knew who was in Room 5, but Saira knew—the mysterious and beautiful disciples of the Dance Hall.

The auction was nearing its end. Saira took a deep breath. "Today's auction officially concludes — "

"Saira-ji!" a desperate voice cried from the crowd. "What about the Sun-Cold Grass? It was on the list!"

Saira smiled, but this time, there was a challenge in her eyes. "You are absolutely right. However... we do not have the grass physically present here."

Commotion broke out. Saira raised her hand to quiet them. "We have the exact location of that grass. If you desire that rare herb, you must purchase the information.

But... it cannot be bought with gold coins."

"Then with what?" someone shouted.

A sharp edge entered Saira's tone. " Spiritual Stones ! "

Now the game had truly become dangerous. Spiritual stones were not ordinary currency; they were the true wealth of the cultivation world.

"Starting price for the information — two hundred spiritual stones ! "

"One thousand spiritual stones ! " — a heavy voice boomed from the VIP section.

The crowd was stunned. Who possessed so many stones? Soon, the identity was revealed— Mayor Ramdas Thakur ! The city's most powerful administrative figure.

"One thousand... going once... twice..." Saira looked around.

"Two thousand spiritual stones!"—a new, mysterious voice echoed from a VIP room.

Mayor Ramdas turned pale. He made one final desperate move — "Twenty-one hundred!"

Saira struck the gavel three times.

"Sold ! The information is transferred to Mayor Ramdas Thakur."

No applause followed. This victory felt like an invitation to death. Before stepping off the stage, Saira looked toward the VIP rooms one last time. "I hope to meet some of my special guests personally today."

A faint smile touched Suraj's lips. "Me too, Saira."

The auction was over, but every person stepping out of the hall had now become 'prey.' Suraj read the faces of the people through the crystal wall.

He finally understood why there had been such a strange silence during the auction.

The real war wasn't on the stage; it was about to unfold in the dark alleys outside, where the hand of the law does not reach.

Where gavels don't fall — only swords do.

Suraj looked at Saira, who was still smiling as she exited the stage.

"Saira Darwan... you don't just conduct auctions. You initiate stories of destruction."

Suraj adjusted his cloak and stood up. The game was moving to the streets.

The auction hall now resembled a desolate graveyard. The lights had dimmed into a ghostly pallor, but the air was still heavy with the stench of greed, envy, and the metallic tang of impending bloodshed. Suraj stood up from his VIP seat, a new, surging current of energy radiating from his core.

He turned toward Karan, who stood beside him. "Brother Karan," Suraj's voice held a strange, bittersweet finality, "it seems our journey together ends here for now."

Suraj gestured toward the painting hanging on the wall—the one he had crafted specifically for Karan. "Keep this safe. Who knows... the next time we meet, I might just repaint the very lines of your destiny."

Karan chuckled, though his eyes were filled with profound respect and a hint of sorrow. He understood that Suraj had ascended to a league where ordinary men became mere shadows. "Fair enough, Brother Suraj. When destiny wills it, we shall meet again." Without any heavy promises, Karan vanished into the dark corridor.

As Suraj made his move to exit, a young maidservant blocked his path. "Sir... Madam Saira has invited you to her private chambers."

A predator's smile played across Suraj's lips. "Just as I thought. The fish has swum into the net of its own accord."

He followed a secret, silent passage toward the private chamber. As he stepped inside, he was immediately enveloped by the intoxicating fragrance of sandalwood and night-blooming jasmine.

Inside, Saira Darwan was reclining on a velvet divan. The moment her eyes fell upon the cloaked figure of Suraj, her heart skipped a beat.

"So, it is you," Saira's voice was as smooth as raw silk, "the one whose energy pierced through my gate's defenses today. Quite impressive."

Suraj laughed and shed his heavy cloak. As his face and finely chiseled physique were revealed, the temperature of the room spiked. Saira found herself staring—his sharp features, his deep, unwavering eyes, and that raw masculine magnetism that could bring any woman to her knees.

"Your spies are quite observant, Saira," Suraj said, closing the distance between them.

With trembling hands, Saira offered him a cup of tea. Suraj took it, took a single sip, and set it aside. His gaze was now locked onto hers. Suddenly, without warning, Suraj's hand found Saira's slender waist, and with a sharp tug, he pulled her flush against him.

The distance became zero. Saira's warm breath hitched as it fanned against Suraj's neck. She gasped, her body stiffening for a split second, but the sheer intoxication of his proximity began to dissolve her resistance.

"You know, Saira," Suraj whispered near her ear, "buying and selling in an auction is merely a game. The real deal... the one that matters... happens right here, behind closed doors."

Saira's heart was drumming frantically against her ribs. "This... what are you doing? Do you not feel any fear?"

"Fear?" Suraj's fingers traced a path from Saira's neck down to her shoulder. "I want you to be mine. Not as an item for auction, but as a part of my very power."

A deep flush crept across Saira's face. "Such audacity? Who asks such a thing so boldly?"

"I don't ask, Saira. I claim." Suraj lifted her and sat her firmly on his lap. Saira's silken gown slithered beneath his touch. He pressed a light, searing kiss against her neck.

In that exact moment, a bolt of divine lightning struck Suraj's mind.

A literal ocean of power erupted within Suraj's body. He felt an invisible, spiritual thread bind his soul to Saira's. The mastery of elements made him feel as if he could bend the very world to his will.

Saira opened her eyes, now glistening with tears of total submission. "It's strange... I have never let anyone inside my armor before. But with just your touch, all my defenses have crumbled."

Suraj stroked her hair gently. "Because until today, you were only fulfilling the desires of others. For the first time, someone has given you what you truly craved—a sanctuary. A Master."

Saira rested her head against Suraj's chest. "If I go with you, I might lose everything. My elders will never forgive me."

"You won't need a home, Saira. You are now the Queen of my empire." Suraj held her even tighter. A heavy, intoxicating moisture hung in the air, as if the Water element was merging with Suraj's Fire to birth an entirely new world.

Outside this room, the world was still at war, blades of greed and envy were still clashing, but inside this sanctuary, Suraj had laid his first and most invincible foundation.

After leaving the auction hall, everything seemed to plunge into a profound silence. The crowd outside, the clamor, the diplomacy, and the scent of impending danger —

everything was left behind this closed door. Suraj and Saira were now breathing the same air, but a different kind of storm was brewing within each of them.

Saira was still trying to calm her racing heartbeat, struggling to comprehend how such a massive turning point had arrived so abruptly in her perfectly measured life.

She was a shrewd auctioneer; concealing her emotions was her profession, but a single touch from Suraj had shattered all her defensive armors.

On the other hand, a deep, confident smile played on Suraj's lips. He knew that this story no longer belonged to that decorated stage; this story was now entirely of his own world.

Suraj reached out his hand towards Saira with immense tenderness. There was a strange stillness in his eyes.

"I want to take you to a place," his voice was calm, yet it carried a magnetic assurance that was impossible to refuse, "where you won't have to bear the burden of playing any role.

You won't have to be a strict auctioneer, nor a perfect host, nor the bridge for anyone's expectations. There will only be you... and me."

Saira blinked and looked into his deep eyes. There was no business tactic there, no hidden deal, just a straightforward, transparent invitation. After a moment's hesitation, she placed her trembling fingers into Suraj's broad, warm hand.

And in that very moment—it was as if the entire world changed.

There was no blinding explosion of light, nor any terrifying rumble. The layers of reality simply folded for a brief second, as if someone had effortlessly changed the direction of the wind.

In the very next heartbeat, when Saira opened her eyes, they were no longer in the small private chamber of the auction house. They were standing in the center of an infinite, majestic, and boundless expanse.

A very soft, pearl-like radiance was scattered all around; it was hard to tell whether it was day or night. Before them stretched a palace-like chamber — breathtakingly grand, yet not intimidating to the eyes.

A faint glow emanated from the translucent floor, as if an ancient energy was flowing like a river within those magical stones.

Right in the center of that chamber was a massive, mysterious bed. Saira's discerning eyes immediately understood that this bed wasn't built merely for rest or luxury; every fiber of it radiated the profound energy of meditation and 'Cultivation'.

Saira's breaths instinctively deepened. Mesmerized, she looked around, "Where... where have we come?" Her voice was barely a whisper.

Pulling her towards him, Suraj smiled and said, "This is my world, Saira. My 'Super Harem System'."

Just then, that familiar, mechanical yet divine voice echoed in Suraj's mind —

[ Ding ! Congratulations, Host. You have entered the inner dimension of the Super Harem System for the first time with your First Companion. A special 'Couple's Gift' is being activated. ]
