Chapter 32 - The Eight Gates

[Disciple Might Guy has set a Training Mission]

[Training Mission: Obtain a training plan that can enhance strength]

[Reward: Determined based on mission completion]

Looking at the training mission triggered by Might Guy , Makoto felt a bit conflicted.

He had originally thought the mission would be something like defeating Kakashi.

Instead, it turned out to be simply asking for a training plan.

Could that really count as a "training mission"?

Makoto carefully analyzed the cause and effect behind the mission's trigger and formed some hypotheses.

The disciple's own thoughts determined the mission's content.

Obito believed that with his current abilities, he could not reliably win first place in the Youth Ninjutsu Tournament, which was why his mission was to win the competition.

When Obito found out the tournament was being held again, there were only two weeks left before it began.

With such little time, Obito believed that only with Makoto's help could he win.

Might Guy , on the other hand, did want to defeat Kakashi Hatake.

But the desire wasn't urgent, nor did he believe he had to rely on Makoto in order to achieve it.

Additionally, since they had only known each other for about a month, and Guy had been purely on the receiving end of Makoto's guidance, he might have felt embarrassed about troubling him too much.

With all these factors combined, it resulted in Guy's training mission being somewhat strange.

"Teacher, I'll leave the training plan to you," Guy said gratefully.

"There's no trouble at all," Makoto said, patting Guy on the head.

"You're so eager to become stronger that I'm happy just seeing it."

"For a teacher, the best reward is seeing their disciple grow stronger."

Makoto's expression was extremely sincere.

This wasn't acting—it was genuinely how he felt.

Hearing those words again, Guy felt something different stir in his heart.

Perhaps…

He should rely on Makoto a little more.

The two of them arrived at the training ground.

Obito had almost finished his tree-climbing training, and would soon begin practicing the Water Walking Technique.

Might Guy continued with his physical conditioning, repeatedly performing various exercises.

Meanwhile, Shisui Uchiha practiced genjutsu under the supervision of Makoto's Shadow Clone.

Makoto's main body focused on completing Guy's training mission—creating a new training plan for him.

This wasn't something he could just scribble down on a whim.

There were many factors to consider.

You couldn't simply increase training volume blindly in the name of getting stronger.

The body's limits and recovery capacity also had to be taken into account.

As the sky gradually darkened, the three students finished their assigned training.

At the same time, Makoto finished writing Guy's new training plan.

He called Guy aside and handed the plan to him.

[Training Mission Completed]

[Rewards Obtained: Soldier Pill ×20, Chakra +150]

[Soldier Pill: Effectively relieves physical fatigue, restores the body, and eliminates hidden injuries]

The mission was settled immediately.

The reward was actually better than Makoto expected.

After all, the mission itself had been extremely simple.

Makoto had originally thought that gaining a little chakra would already be good enough.

But receiving twenty Soldier Pills was a pleasant surprise.

This made him even more curious about the rewards Obito's mission might yield.

After all, Obito's mission was much harder to complete than Guy's.

Makoto casually moved his hand as if searching through his ninja tool pouch, secretly taking out one Soldier Pill from the system inventory and handing it to Guy.

"This is for you. Eat it," Makoto said with a smile.

Among his three disciples, Guy probably needed it the most.

His training intensity was simply too high.

"Thank you, teacher. What is it?" Guy asked curiously.

"It's something beneficial for you. Just eat it," Makoto replied.

Out of trust in Makoto, Guy swallowed the pill immediately.

The moment he did—

A warm sensation spread throughout his body.

The warmth flowed through every limb and organ, sweeping away fatigue and instantly revitalizing him.

"Is this one of those really expensive secret medicines?" Guy guessed.

The pill was incredibly effective—he felt much lighter and more energetic after taking it.

So-called secret medicines were special drugs made through unique methods using rare ingredients.

The most common example was the Soldier Pills, which restored a certain amount of chakra and were relatively inexpensive.

The more unique and powerful a medicine's effect, the more expensive it usually was.

Guy was certain the pill he just consumed was not cheap.

"You've already eaten it, so don't worry about it too much," Makoto said without answering directly.

He didn't even know how much it would cost.

After all, the medicine came from the system—whether Konoha even sold such a thing was another question entirely.

And since Guy had already asked about it, he likely already had his own guess.

[You have gifted your disciple a Soldier Pill]

[Because the disciple is extremely grateful, reward critical hit!]

[Obtained: Eight Gates (First Three Gates)]

Suddenly, Makoto's mind filled with memories of training the Eight Gates.

He could clearly feel a certain limiter inside his body that he now had the ability to release.

Although he could only open the first three gates, Makoto was still satisfied.

Now that he possessed the technique, he could theoretically train further and unlock additional gates in the future.

However, Makoto didn't plan to devote time to that.

He would gain far more benefits by investing his training time elsewhere.

Might Guy might not have exceptional talent for ninjutsu, but his taijutsu talent was extraordinary.

Even if two people trained the Eight Gates for decades and opened the Gate of Death, their results could be vastly different.

In the original timeline, Might Guy  severely injured Six Paths Madara, while Might Duy hadn't even managed to kill all the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.

For Makoto, opening only the first three gates was actually ideal.

The first three gates were also the ones with the least strain on the body.

From the fourth gate onward, the technique placed enormous demands on physical durability.

"Teacher… I will definitely become the strongest!" Guy said tearfully, deeply moved.

In his mind, Makoto had deliberately avoided telling him what the medicine was so he wouldn't feel burdened by its cost.

If Guy hadn't sensed its effects himself, Makoto might have even told him it was just a candy pill.

Makoto handed him a handkerchief and said with a gentle smile,

"You will become the strongest. I believe that."

Even without Makoto's help, Guy would eventually reach the pinnacle of taijutsu through sheer effort.

Makoto believed that in this world—

Might Guy would only go even further.

"His trust level probably increased again," Makoto thought while watching Guy leave.

"I wonder when I'll finally have a disciple reach Trust Level Four."

That evening, Makoto didn't go to the main district to casually meet Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki.

Instead, he stayed in the southern forest.

It had already been over a month since he transmigrated.

Although he had long planned to develop the Rasengan, he had never found the time.

Recently he had been reading many books on Sealing Techniques and cursed seals, and he needed time to digest the knowledge.

During this period, he planned to develop the Rasengan as well.

With the detailed process from the original story and his mastery of Shape Transformation, developing the Rasengan wouldn't be difficult.

However, the main reason he wanted to develop it wasn't simply to use it in battle.

It had other applications he intended to explore.
