Chapter 168 - Please Help, My Toolmen

Sean took the two Horcruxes and hid them inside Merlin's Chamber. Now, no one but him could find them.

"I need to find the right moment… to naturally bring up Horcruxes with Dumbledore," Sean thought.

Even though he possessed a wealth of firsthand information, figuring out how to reveal it naturally was a skill in itself.

If he simply walked up to Dumbledore holding the two Horcruxes and said, "Professor, these are Voldemort's Horcruxes," Dumbledore would definitely ask, "How do you know?"

And Sean couldn't exactly reply, "Because I transmigrated here and already know everything."

The same went for Draco's possession. He couldn't just say, "Professor, Draco has been possessed by Voldemort."

Dumbledore would surely ask, "And how do you know that?"

Sean couldn't say, "Because I have a cheat-level magical eye."

Both his foreknowledge as a transmigrator and his magical eye were his greatest trump cards. He could never expose them.

After working through the entire night, Sean didn't return to bed until 3:30 a.m. Jerry squinted at him sleepily, only to be shoved aside as Sean collapsed into bed.

At 8:30 in the morning, Sean was rudely awakened by Cassius knocking on the door. Until he passed the test, he still had to attend classes like everyone else.

Cassius had come to drag him to breakfast in the Great Hall. Sean lay there for a moment, struggling against the urge to stay in bed, before finally throwing off the covers and getting up.

Running on only five hours of sleep, Sean sat at the table, slowly chewing bread and sipping milk, trying to recover his energy.

He glanced at Cassius, whose eyes were unfocused—clearly not someone used to staying up late. Compared to Sean, who had plenty of experience pulling all-nighters, Cassius was still an amateur.

"Sean, I already invited Astoria last night," Chris said quietly beside him as they headed to Charms class.

"Did she accept?" Sean asked.

"At first she hesitated when I explained what Ouroboros is, but the moment I mentioned you were the president, she agreed immediately," Chris said, sounding slightly annoyed.

"Well… haha, as long as she agreed," Sean replied awkwardly.

Their Charms class was shared with Gryffindor. As soon as Sean walked into the classroom, the Weasley twins started making a scene.

"Oh ho, look who it is! The professors' favorite, the one we only see in class a few times a year—Sean!" Fred called out.

"I'm telling you, in a month, he'll disappear again!" George added dramatically.

Once Sean passed the test at the end of the month, he would have the freedom to attend or skip any class except Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts.

"What's so interesting about me? I'm not even a pretty girl," Sean joked.

Then, an idea suddenly struck him. Looking at Fred and George, he muttered inwardly,

"Sorry, you two… looks like I'll need to use you as tools again."

Ever since enrolling, Sean had relied on the twins more than once. At this point, they had practically become his go-to toolmen.

Professor Flitwick was enthusiastically teaching, but Sean didn't hear a single word. His mind was entirely occupied with his Horcrux plan.

"Cassius, what class do we have tomorrow with Gryffindor?" Sean suddenly asked.

"Uh… let me think. I think it's Transfiguration, second period in the morning," Cassius replied.

"Why?" he added, puzzled.

"No reason. Just asking," Sean brushed it off.

As the years advanced, Charms became more difficult. After just one lesson, Cassius was already worrying about how many subjects he might fail at the end of the year.

"Grades aren't everything. If you can't find a job after graduation, you can come work for me. I'm planning to open a bar," Sean said casually.

"A bar? Don't you already live in one?" Cassius asked.

"The Leaky Cauldron isn't for young people. I'm opening something for younger wizards," Sean explained.

They chatted as they headed toward their next class—History of Magic. On the way, they ran into Draco. Sean deliberately walked over.

"Draco, you look exhausted. Didn't sleep well last night?" Sean asked knowingly.

Draco felt a pang of guilt. He couldn't let anyone know what had happened. Avoiding Sean's gaze, he turned his head slightly.

"The dorm isn't as comfortable as home. Sleeping poorly is normal, isn't it?"

"Oh ho, not bad. That's a pretty solid excuse," Sean thought.

The conversation ended there, and they went their separate ways.

Sean's next class was Defense Against the Dark Arts—with the utterly incompetent Lockhart.

He already knew what the first lesson would be. From first year to seventh year, Lockhart taught the exact same content.

Lockhart stood at the front, dressed in a dark gold suit with a pale yellow coat, smiling brightly.

"Allow me to introduce myself. I am your new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor—Gilderoy Lockhart. Third-Class Order of Merlin, honorary member of the Dark Force Defense League, and five-time winner of Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award. Though I never brag," he said, pausing for effect.

"I didn't banish the Bandon Banshee with a smile, after all."

He flashed his signature grin again. The girls looked captivated, while the boys felt a wave of awkwardness.

"I see you've all purchased my complete works. Excellent! For our first lesson, let's begin with a small test."

He turned and picked up a stack of papers.

"Are you kidding me? A test on the first day?" Cassius groaned, looking like he was about to cry.

The rest of the class didn't look any better.

Sean, however, remained completely unfazed. He hadn't even bought Lockhart's books. He saw no reason to waste money—not even for appearances.

"Don't be nervous. If you read my books over the summer, let's see how well you understood them."

Lockhart began handing out papers row by row. When he reached Sean and Cassius, he glanced at Sean's desk—and saw a Charms textbook instead.

"You didn't bring my books?" Lockhart asked.

"Sorry, Professor. I didn't buy them. My family isn't very wealthy," Sean replied.

The entire class gave him a look that clearly said, "Yeah, right." After all, Sean had won four thousand Galleons in the Triwizard Tournament.

"No matter. Come to my office after class, and I'll give you a set," Lockhart said generously.

"Thank you, Professor."

Sean thought to himself, I'd really rather not.

The test was filled with questions about Lockhart himself—his favorite color, favorite place, life ambitions…

"All right, thirty minutes. Begin!" Lockhart flipped over an hourglass.

"What do I do? I didn't read any of it," Cassius whispered anxiously.

Then he realized—Sean hadn't even bought the books.

Sean had no idea how to answer the ridiculous questions, nor did he care to.

"Just make things up. He won't read them seriously," Sean said calmly.

Cassius had no choice but to scribble nonsense. Sure enough, after collecting the papers, Lockhart barely glanced at them before tossing them aside.

"Now then, put down your quills and pick up your wands. My job is to teach you how to defend yourselves against the dark creatures of our world. In this classroom, you will face the most terrifying things imaginable."

Lockhart lifted a cage covered with a red cloth from beneath the desk. Something inside it moved faintly. The suspense alone made the students tense.

"But with me here, you have nothing to fear," Lockhart declared smugly.

"Don't scream—it might provoke them."

He whipped off the cloth.

Inside was a swarm of bright blue creatures.

Sean recognized them immediately—Cornish Pixies. He had seen similar creatures back in his first year.

"Cornish Pixies!" several students exclaimed.

Everyone had expected something terrifying. Instead, it was just these little pests. Laughter spread through the room.

"Don't underestimate them. Pixies are mischievous and cunning. Let's see how you deal with them."

Lockhart unlocked the cage.

The pixies burst out instantly, flapping their wings at incredible speed. In seconds, they were already swooping toward the front row. The students barely had time to react before chaos erupted.

"Immobulus."

Sean had been prepared. The spell shot out instantly.

The pixies were frozen in midair before they could even start causing trouble.
