Chapter 145 - Chapter 145

In a quiet alley of the village, the tension snapped tight.

Three outsiders stood facing Noah Vale, their expressions cold and hostile.

The man in the center was encased in a full suit of powered armor. A cannon unfolded from his chest, energy gathering into a dense, glowing core that hummed with destructive force.

To his left, another man's eyes flickered with concentration. Invisible pressure warped the air around his hand—telekinetic force building, strong enough to crush steel at close range.

On the right, a younger figure's body twisted and expanded. Fur burst through his skin as his frame swelled to nearly ten feet tall, muscles bulging into a monstrous shape.

Noah looked them over, unimpressed.

"Not bad," he said casually. "You've got some flair."

"Take him down!" the armored man barked.

"Sure," Noah replied.

Before the command could fully land—

A sharp crack split the air.

Noah vanished.

Then reappeared beside the armored man.

His hand shot forward, slipping directly into the cannon's barrel. The glowing energy inside flickered—and died instantly, crushed before it could fire.

At the same time—

Two clean holes appeared in the chests of the other two men.

Perfectly round.

You could see straight through them.

They collapsed without a sound.

Noah rested his left hand lightly on the armored man's shoulder.

"Let's try this again," he said, almost conversational. "I've got a few questions. Answer honestly, and you might walk away."

The man's pupils shrank to pinpoints.

His system interface had already updated.

And what it showed—

Was terrifying.

Every category—strength, speed, durability, mental capacity, recovery—was far beyond anything he'd ever seen.

This wasn't just someone strong.

This was a complete monster.

"How…" the man whispered, his voice shaking. "That's not possible…"

Noah tapped his cheek lightly.

"Zoning out won't help," he said. "Focus."

"I surrender!" the man blurted. "I give up—just don't kill me."

"Good choice."

Noah tilted his head slightly.

"First question. What did you mean when you called me a 'story character'?"

The man froze.

His face went pale.

He shook his head rapidly.

He couldn't say anything.

Not because he didn't want to—

But because he couldn't.

"Can't talk about it?" Noah mused. "Or not allowed to?"

He didn't press further.

"Fine. Next one—am I one of those 'story characters'?"

The man hesitated… then shook his head again.

He didn't know.

Noah's eyes sharpened slightly.

Interesting.

"Third question," he continued. "What about Naruto and the others?"

Another shake of the head.

Still nothing.

Noah paused for a moment, then smiled faintly.

"Alright. Let's try something simpler."

He leaned in just slightly.

"Who's the strongest Hokage?"

This time, the man answered immediately.

"The Third Hokage," he said. "He's known as the strongest in history."

That was enough.

Noah straightened.

That single answer told him everything he needed.

They weren't working off inside knowledge.

They didn't know how things would actually play out.

Which meant—

They were blind.

After a few more quick questions, Noah gave a satisfied nod.

Then he patted the man on the shoulder.

"That'll do," he said. "You're free to go."

The man blinked in disbelief.

Noah turned and began walking away.

"Oh, and clean up your friends," he added over his shoulder. "Wouldn't want to scare anyone."

Left behind in the alley, the armored man stood frozen.

Alive.

Somehow.

Noah stepped back out into the open, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

"So that's how it works," he murmured to himself. "Interesting."

They had power.

They had structure.

But they didn't have the full picture.

That made things a lot more entertaining.

"You took your time."

Sasuke stood nearby, arms crossed, clearly annoyed.

Noah shrugged. "Ran into something useful."

Sasuke frowned. "Useful how?"

Noah's smile widened slightly.

"I've got an idea."

Sasuke immediately didn't like the sound of that.

"What kind of idea?"

Noah glanced at him.

"Tell me," he said, "what do you think would happen if people here could read their own story?"

Sasuke blinked.

"…What?"

"If a version of your world existed as a written story," Noah continued, "and people started reading it—what do you think that would do?"

Sasuke stared at him.

Trying to process it.

"You mean… like predicting the future?"

"Something like that," Noah said lightly.

He rubbed his chin, thinking it through.

"These outsiders are already interfering, but they don't actually know how things are supposed to go. Now imagine if that information suddenly became available."

His grin sharpened.

"That would shake things up."

Sasuke narrowed his eyes.

"You're serious."

"Completely."

"And you're planning to just… give that information out?"

"Not exactly," Noah said. "I'll tweak things. Adjust the narrative a bit."

He glanced at Sasuke.

"After all, I'm not part of their system. They won't be able to categorize me the same way."

Sasuke ran a hand through his hair, exhaling slowly.

"This is insane," he muttered.

But at the same time—

He couldn't deny the curiosity.

If something like that existed…

It might contain answers.

About his future.

"What do you actually want out of this?" Sasuke asked.

Noah shrugged.

"Honestly? It sounds fun."

Sasuke stared at him.

"…That's it?"

"Pretty much."

A short while later, they arrived at Sasuke's home.

A large, quiet residence—far bigger than what one person should need.

Noah glanced around.

"Nice place," he said. "Bit empty, though."

Sasuke didn't respond.

Inside, Sasuke handed him paper and pens.

"This what you need?"

Noah flipped through the pages.

"Standard stuff?"

"Used everywhere," Sasuke said. "Nothing unusual about it."

"Perfect."

Noah spread several sheets across the floor.

"Grab me more," he said. "I'm going to need a lot."

Sasuke hesitated—but did as asked.

Then—

Something strange happened.

From Noah's body, several strands of violet energy extended outward, moving like extra limbs.

They picked up pens.

Hovered over the paper.

Ready.

Sasuke's eyes widened slightly.

"…You've got to be kidding me."

Noah smirked.

"Multitasking."

The pens moved.

Fast.

Lines of text began to fill the pages, neat and precise.

"At the beginning," Noah said as he wrote, "there was a great disaster…"

His voice carried lightly through the room.

"A creature of immense power appeared—one with nine tails. Every swing of those tails brought destruction, reshaping the land itself."

More pages filled.

"The people suffered… until one man stood against it. A leader who gave his life to seal the creature away."

Noah's expression remained calm.

"The Fourth Hokage."

Ink continued to flow.

And with it—

A story began to take shape.
