SF Chapter 61: Commentary
A few days passed, and it was Wednesday. Dani had gone to his sister's house.
"Wow, man, you make a good wingman," Joey commented with a smile, since Daniel had done the honors the night before when he, Monica, Leonard and Daniel went out.
"We could do it again in New York," he added.
"Joey!" Monica didn't like the idea very much.
"What? He didn't drink last night and basically talked to you and your other cousin," Joey argued.
"Very suspicious," Claire said, staring at her brother. Rarely was he not messing around or flirting with a girl.
"What? I was just enjoying family time with my cousins," Daniel said, feeling wronged.
What he hadn't said was that yesterday he had already arranged to spend the night again with Vivian and Penny, since the brunette was leaving for Boston.
His sister remained suspicious but changed the subject and took Monica's hand. "Too bad you already have to leave today. It was great having you here."
"Oh, I loved it too, Claire," Monica smiled, hugging her. "But I need to stay by my brother's side."
"Tell him we're really sorry about his marriage," Claire added.
[Monica, Daniel and Joey commentary]
Monica was sitting on the Dunphys' couch.
"Yeah, I moved up my trip back to New York by two days."
She explained the reason. "Ross, his wife, and my parents came back home Sunday afternoon. But he called me yesterday saying Carol asked for a divorce."
"She's a lesbian," Joey couldn't help laughing, with Daniel doing the same.
Monica shot a look at the duo.
Daniel defended himself. "I have nothing against lesbians. I'm laughing because of Ross."
"And Alan, when I told him this morning, laughed hysterically and believed it was karma, since Ross had also laughed at him because of Judith."
"You already told your brother?" Monica made a face.
"Monica, you yelled that information yesterday. The entire bar heard it," Daniel deadpanned. "I only told my brother."
"I was surprised, okay," she tried to defend herself.
"Not as much as Ross," Daniel pointed out. He and Joey burst out laughing again.

Monica was coming downstairs with her suitcase, while the Dunphy family waited below.
"Call me if you need anything," Claire said genuinely to Monica.
[Claire and Monica commentary]
"It was only a few days, but I really felt a connection with Monica," Claire remarked. "If I had a sister, I'd like her to be like her."
"Ohh," Monica said affectionately. "I would love that too! I think we have so much in common!"
"Very uptight, high-maintenance, bossy, organization freaks-" a shout from a very familiar voice was heard. "- but hoooot," he finished in a high-pitched voice.
Claire ran off, and a short while later came back with Daniel, her arm locked around his neck.
"Sis, I only said hot to ease your anger," he said, being squeezed even tighter by his sister.
"Hey, Monica, how you doin'?" Daniel smirked and gave her a wink.
His cousin just rolled her eyes, but you could see a grin on her face trying to be suppressed.
Claire squeezed him even more.
Now with the three of them sitting on the couch, Monica turned to him. "We are not high-maintenance!"
"And we are not uptight!" Claire admonished.
Daniel adjusted his suit and asked, "So we're good with bossy and organization freaks?" receiving a glare from both.
"Oh, oh, ohhh," Daniel started gesturing with his hand. "I forgot the main thing: mommy issues!"
If this hadn't been filmed, it probably would have turned into a murder scene.

Everyone said goodbye to Monica, but Phil, Haley, Alex, and Luke kept hugging each other, with Phil muttering, "It is finally over..."
[Family Dunphy minus Claire commentary]
"I like Monica... but she is too much like Mom," Haley was the first to comment.
"Yes, it was like having two of them in the house. It was a nightmare," Phil agreed.
Alex was next. "My only problem was Luke sleeping in our room. It's already bad enough with just Haley."
"It was okay for me," Luke was the only one without a complaint. "It was like finally having a cool older sister."
"Shut up, Luke!" Haley and Alex said at the same time.

And the family went to the kitchen table.
"There's no mention of your movie today, Dani," Haley commented while flipping through the cinema section of the newspaper.
"That's normal. It's not like a blockbuster with hundreds of millions in marketing," Daniel dismissed. It was already good enough that on Sunday and Monday it had gotten half a page of praise.
"It's already a miracle that Haley is reading the newspaper in the morning," Alex remarked with her usual sassy tone.
"That's because I have some friends I can chat with in the morning," Haley retorted.
Phil ignored the jabs between his daughters and asked Daniel, "So you and Jay are going to New York on Saturday?"
"Yes. Don't you and Sis want to come too?" Daniel invited. "I could get more flight tickets."
But it was Haley who approached her mother. "Please, please, Mom. Let me go too."
"No, we have a wedding to attend on Saturday," Claire said. "Dad and Dani are going more for protocol."
"Protocol?" her brother snorted. "I'm going for a vacation!"
Then his phone rang. He glanced at the screen and answered.
"Hi, Lexi. How you doin'? Already miss me?" he joked, only to hear the immediate beeping of the call being hung up.
Unfazed, Daniel called her back. "Hey, that was a little rude," he said, faking an outraged tone. "So, what's up?"
On the other end, Alexandra excitedly told him she had gotten the role she auditioned for.
"Really?" he mirrored her genuine excitement. "Hey, tonight's celebration is on me!"
And the two of them talked for a little while longer.
"Wow, another girl?" Haley mocked, her arms crossed.
"Nah, this is Lexi, the brunette who sat next to me. She got a role on that new show that just came out, The O.C."
His niece's mood completely changed. "Ohhh, I loved the first episode. Ryan is so dreamy," Haley sighed.
"Huh, seems like I need to watch it now, to see Lexi debut," Daniel muttered.
[Alexandra Daddario commentary]
Lexi commented with rare excitement, "I got the role of Anna Stern on The O.C. She's going to be part of the love triangle: Anna, Seth, and Summer."
"One of the producers told me they're going to change a bit of what they originally had planned for Anna."
Then she changed the subject, talking about her friend. "Daniel really is a player... he showed up here not long after, bringing the cake I like..." she tried to hide her smile.
