SF Chapter 163: 18-years-old IV
After Prudence casually revealed that her father owned an NFL and NBA teams - and that she liked girls - as if she were simply commenting on the weather or saying she liked chocolate, Dani shifted to another topic.
"Now, we're starting our talent presentation," Dani said. "I already put your names down to sing - except for Lexi and Mischa."
"Unless you two want to?" he asked, looking at them.
"I'm good," Mischa replied. It wasn't her thing.
"Me neither," Lexi shook her head.
Alex turned to him. "Wait a minute, you also put my name?"
"Of course, Alexandria."
"You two can sing?" Mischa asked, surprised.
"A little," Haley said, a bit embarrassed. "We sometimes did karaoke with Dad and Dani."
"A little?" Dani scoffed. "They're my nieces! Of course they can sing incredibly well."
"How is that even an explanation, Dani-bro?" Amanda raised an eyebrow.
"That awesomeness runs in our blood!"
Dani made his point by already starting to sing, pointing at Haley, ♪Turn around ♪
Haley song, ♫♪Every now and then I get a little bit lonely and you're never coming 'round ♫♪
Dani did again, now pointing at Alex, ♪Turn around ♪
"Come on, Alex."
Alex gave in and sang the next part. ♫♪Every now and then I get a little bit tired of listening to the sound of my tears ♫♪

This time, he continued himself the song, ♫♪Every now and then I get a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by ♫♪
And trio jumped straight to the final part of the song, singing together.

"Wow, baby, I didn't know you could sing so well," Dylan spoke with a smile at Haley.
She hugged him. "Aw, thanks."
"Okay, now I'm excited," Prudence said as she stood up and walked over to Dani.
"Let's start it!" Dani got into the vibe. "We can sing our two new songs, Prudence!"
"Great!"
Two of the girls looked at them a little worried.
"Don't worry," he said. "They're pretty much age-appropriate!"

Dani and Prudence walked toward the small stage that had been set up.
"Alright, people, we're gonna start!" Dani said into the microphone, drawing everyone's attention.
"Since she's the owner of this marvelous yacht, Prudence will do the honors of starting," he gestured toward the girl.
Prudence gave him a wink, already holding the microphone and ready to begin.
The staff played the background track she had composed, and Dani sang the introduction.

Everybody lookin' for a dance floor to run on♪
Prudence raised her hand and pointed at Dani with her index finger, starting to sing.

Dani, who had gone back to the table where Jay and the others were, sat down beside his brother.
"Whoa, she does sing very well," Mitch commented to his brother.
"Yes," Cam agreed, already dancing in his seat, ready to get up. "What song is this?" He didn't recognize it.
"It's an original, I wrote it," Dani said nonchalantly. "Prudence handled the musical composition part."
"D-money, you wrote more music besides 'Pocketful of Sunshine'?" Phil asked, turning to him.
"Oh, yeah, now that I think about it," Dani realized something. "I basically never sing my songs to the family. Only to my friends."
Prudence kept singing.

Dani revealed, "I wrote some, Phil."
"You've been registering several types of drafts over the past few months, haven't you?" Jay asked, since he had received the reports.
"Yep, like I always do with books, scripts, or any idea I have. It's just a few dollars."
On stage, Prudence started dancing more energetically while singing.

Manny, who had just come back from the game room, muttered, "I think I'm in love!"
"Me too!" Jake nodded, his mouth slightly open.
Dani smacked both of them on the head. "Hey, don't break the bro code. You two need to see her like a man!"

After she finished, the crowd applauded and Dani whistled.
Next up was Evelyn singing, with Charlie on the piano. She was followed shortly after by Amanda.

"Okay, now it's my turn!" he grinned.
Dani walked up to the stage and positioned himself at the center, already grabbing the microphone and the stand.
Prudence stayed nearby, already cueing the melody, which started with a few whistles.
Dani began to sing,

Dani took the microphone off the stand and started lightly dancing along.

At one of the tables, Phil chuckled. "See? I inspired him, Claire. Remember when he was a kid and I taught him the Jagger moves?"
Claire placed a hand affectionately on her husband's arm and let out a nostalgic laugh.

At the table, Hilary was a little in disbelief. "Did he really write those two songs?"
"Probably," Amanda replied. "I heard him sing another original song of his, 'You're Beautiful,' and this one feels waay more like him."
Haley groaned. "The song is great, but it reminds me of him doing those dorky dances with Dad!" She complained.
"At least Dani got way better," she sighed.

After Dani finished singing with Prudence, Haley and Alex went up on stage, and the trio performed "Midnight Train to Georgia," with Phil filming everything.
Then Cam and Mitchell, who had already had a few drinks, put on a flamboyant dance performance.
The last to perform was Dylan.
He began to sing. ♫♪You're gonna break somebody's heart,

You'll laugh in the middle of gettin' it done ♫♪
"Oh, it's also an original?" Mischa looked at Haley.
The girl nodded. "Yes. He said he got inspired by me."

Oh, I see the neck of the driver there behind the wheel

You're changin' your clothes, in the back seat you slip
From a girl to a woman in less than a minute
Our first time in the car... ♫♪
The girls blinked.
"Is that what I think it is?" Lexi asked, frowning.
Dani was also surprised. "Huh, and you girls were worried about me..." he whispered to Mischa and Lexi, since he was sitting nearby.
He and Haley hadn't talked about it, but he had a suspicion she had lost her first time. Dani had only told her before to use all the proper protection.
"There's someone worse than you..." Mischa muttered.
"Ugh," Alex made a disgusted face. "Haley! I sit on that seat! Ew!"
At another table, one could almost see Phil's soul leaving his body.
