SF Chapter 168: Nomination
A few days later, Mischa, Dani, and Lexi were sleeping in his bed when his phone suddenly rang.
"Hmm," Lexi complained softly. "Dani."
He let out a small groan after glancing at the bedside clock. "6 a.m. Who the hell calls at this hour?"
"Mischa, pass me the cellphone, please," he said while lightly shaking the girl on the other side.
Mischa also complained a little and stretched herself to grab the phone before handing it to him.
Dani reached out his hand, but instead of taking the phone, he went straight past it and gave her chest a squeeze.
Mischa just stared at him unsurprised.
After a moment, when it seemed he wouldn't stop, she said dryly, "Okay, enough with your 'morning hello' and take the phone."
"It's also a good luck charm," Dani argued, though this time he actually took the phone and answered it.
"Hello there," he said. "Oh, hi Alicia. Is this really the time to call?"
But what he heard was an excited voice on the other side of the line.
"Okay, a little slower, please," he asked.
After listening for a few more seconds, he blinked. "Oh, that is nice."
A small yell escaped from his phone soon after, "NICE?!"
"Okay, it is very nice. But couldn't you wait until like 10 a.m.?"
He hung up before hearing more complaints.
"What was it?" Mischa was already getting comfortable enough to fall asleep again.
"One of the employees from my studio. She called to tell me I got nominated for an Oscar for Original Screenplay. Mean Girls." Dani placed the phone back on the nightstand and lay down again.
"Oh," Mischa started agreeing sleepily.
"Wait, WHAT??" She let out a small scream.
"Shhh," Dani tried covering her mouth with his hand, but she immediately slapped it away.
Mischa then stretched herself across the bed and started shaking Lexi.
"Lexi, wake up."
"What?" she asked groggily while lifting her head.
"Dani just got nominated for an Oscar! Original Screenplay!" Mischa revealed excitedly.
"Oh my God!" Even Lexi couldn't stop her eyes from widening.
Lexi stared at the boy, who had already gone back to sleeping peacefully.
"Dani, wake up," she called.
"Uh... we can talk over breakfast," he dismissed lazily. "Unless you want to-" he said while still keeping his eyes closed.
"Wake up, or I'll put my finger up your-"
She moved her finger threateningly, making him yelp before she could finish.
"I'm awake. I'm awake." Dani exclaimed loudly, sitting up quickly in bed.
He stared at Lexi. "Jeez, you depraved girl."
As soon as he sat up, both girls threw themselves at him.
"Congratulations, Dani!" they said at the same time.
"Thanks, girls," he replied, continuing to hug them.
After a moment, while they were still cuddled together, Lexi glanced at him. "Dani, you're not falling asleep on us again, are you?" her hand sliding down his body.
"No, no, no," he replied, quickly waking himself up. "Stop with your wicked ideas, Lexi."

"Yeah, Dani got an Oscar nomination. I'm so proud of him," Lexi said with a genuine smile.
She still looked a little surprised, though it had gradually shifted into an expression of, of course he got one.

Now more awake, Dani smirked.
"Hey, as a celebration for this achievement, how about we use the other room, where I can sit on the bed and watch you two take a shower?"
"Why did this idiot receive so much talent?" Mischa asked, looking at Lexi.
"Beats me," Lexi replied, completely unfazed.
But they ended up giving in, considering it was quite an impressive achievement of his.
Already in the other room, "this is what heaven is supposed to be," Dani muttered, watching Lexi and Mischa shower, occasionally soaping each other up.
It didn't take long for him to get up from the bed, where he had been watching, and join them in the shower, taking part in the fun.

Now fully awake, Dani stretched. "Nothing like a morning activity," he grinned.
"You don't get tired, Dani?" Mischa asked, since he was still appreciating both of their bodies.
Even as she said that, she was lazily drying her hair, completely naked and casual about it.
"Hmm," he pretended to think for a moment, looking at her, then at Lexi. "Nope. Not even close to being a little tired."
"What are you doing, Lexi?" Dani inquired. She had dried off quickly and was already messing with his laptop.
"Looking for porn."
Mischa choked, while Dani replied normally, "I have none. Not a single file."
"Oh, wait," he remembered. "There's porn in my work email. Like, a lot of it."
Mischa looked at him like he was a scumbag.
"Not my fault, Mi. Some girls send nude photos to my work email. Seriously, what are they thinking?" He raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know who most of them are. And I don't even know if it's really them or some fake account behind it," he added.
"I understand," Mischa nodded and even put on a very supportive expression. "I also received some naked pictures," she groaned, placing her hands over her face.
She muttered, "There are girls too…"
"Are they beautiful?"
Mischa shot him a glare.
"What? I'm just asking... and," Dani got both of their attention. "I don't need porn. I have you two, and I have my beautiful mind."
He closed his eyes, imagining the scene. "Wow, Mischa, your balloon knot is so tight-"
She immediately kicked him in the stomach.
"Ouch," he winced.
"I looked it up," Lexi finally joined the conversation. "You are the youngest screenwriter to ever be nominated for an Oscar. And the dumbest."
"The last one was my input." She clarified.
"Also," Lexi went back to the screen, reading, "The nominees for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay are: Daniel Harper Pritchett for Mean Girls; Sofia Coppola for Lost in Translation..."
"Andrew Stanton, Bob Peterson, and David Reynolds for Finding Nemo; Jim Sheridan, Kirsten Sheridan, and Naomi Sheridan for In America; and Denys Arcand for The Barbarian Invasions."
"Whoa, I hope Finding Nemo wins," Dani remarked, making both of them look at him in disbelief.
"What?" he asked. "The chances of a teen comedy actually winning an Oscar are basically zero."
"Unless I start giving out 'gifts'," he made air quotes with his hands, "to the voters."
"That's... very realistic," Lexi commented. It was already a surprise that the Academy had nominated the movie, even though it was that good.
"How about we do a marathon of the nominees?" she proposed.
Mischa groaned. "Lexi, you really are a different kind of pervert."
