Chapter 163 - Chapter 165: Something from Another World

There was not actually that much to explain about Originium.

Bruce only needed everyone to understand that, in essence, this thing was a compressed archive of civilization, and that it also had more advanced applications.

While everyone was still digesting that information, he contacted the blue fat cat and explained the matter of Angron and the need for a physical body.

"I roughly understand the situation. His body was destroyed, but his soul was preserved? That really is a difficult problem..."

After hearing the details from Bruce, the blue fat cat sank into thought.

"How about this? Before I come up with a solution, please keep that piece of [Originium] safe. If there's really no other way, I'll see whether I can decompress it and use it as the medium for his body."

"I think you should give up on that idea..."

Bruce shook his head, then looked toward Magnus, who was staring only at the Originium.

Ever since Magnus learned what this thing could do, she had been shouting that she had to take back such a secret treasure no matter what. She also declared that she would spend a great deal of time studying its mysteries.

A mysterious crystal capable of compressing an entire civilization—the technology and value contained within it made Magnus excited just thinking about it.

She had even considered using this thing to cure the curse afflicting herself and her sons.

"Then we can only take the genetic cloning route."

Seeing the situation, the blue fat cat understood.

He then asked:

"What about Holy Terra? Since the Emperor created the Primarchs, he should naturally be able to create another body for Lord Angron, right?"

"I think that would be the safest method."

"Not really."

Bruce shook his head.

Then he stated his own view:

"First of all, the Emperor definitely doesn't have extra time to perform genetic cloning right now. Even if it's only creating a body, that's not something he can complete alone."

"Second, the Emperor's cloning technology is connected to the Warp. Are you sure you want Angron to enter a body that has some connection to the Warp?"

What if Angron's soul had not yet adapted to the body and was possessed by something filthy?

Would that not mean all their work had been for nothing?

It was precisely because of that that Bruce had thought of borrowing the blue fat cat's ability. After all, his magical tools came from another world. Even if the Warp could corrupt them, surely it would not be that unreasonable.

"Then all I can say is that we can try."

The blue fat cat thought for a moment, then made his request:

"But I need samples from the gene-Primarchs. Without material, what am I supposed to use to create a usable body for you?"

"Well..."

Bruce looked toward the three Primarchs.

"I can provide some. It's just a blood sample, right? That should be enough?"

Horus did not reject the idea.

"You should already have a sample of mine."

Curze said calmly:

"I authorize you to use it however you wish, but only for the matter of creating Angron's body."

"What mysteries are hidden inside Originium..."

Magnus was still staring at the crystal ball, paying no attention to anything else.

"By the way, can't we use something like a [Revival Coin] to bring Angron back?"

Bruce suddenly remembered the key item that had saved Angron last time.

"That still requires there to be a target to revive. The problem is that Angron's body is already gone. How am I supposed to revive him?"

The blue fat cat spread his hands and said:

"Besides, even if he really could be revived, the Butcher's Nails would probably come back with him. Is that the result you want to see?"

"Then... then no..."

Bruce shook his head repeatedly and decisively rejected it.

The Butcher's Nails had always been Angron's greatest problem. If they were revived along with him, would that not be handing Khorne another achievement?

"How much time will this take? Round-headed raccoon, I feel Angron's current state probably won't last too long."

Curze frowned and asked.

Everyone's next objective was Isstvan. If Angron could obtain a body and take part, their chances of victory would rise dramatically.

Therefore, both Curze and Horus hoped Angron could make it in time for this plan.

"At minimum, three or four days, I'd say. After all, I have to design a plan, test feasibility, produce an experimental sample, then move on to the formal product. All of that requires time and materials."

The blue fat cat scratched his head and said.

"Three or four days? That's quite fast."

Curze was very satisfied with that timeframe.

"Of course, that's under ideal circumstances. But, well... why are you all in such a hurry? Given the properties of [Originium], Angron should be able to last for more than ten years, or even a hundred years, right? As long as he doesn't consume his own power or enter the Warp or something."

The blue fat cat asked in confusion:

"Don't tell me you really need his strength for the upcoming Isstvan plan?"

"Because [Originium] isn't very stable. I don't really dare gamble on it. After all, it comes from another world and is not under either your control or mine."

Bruce gave a heavy explanation.

If the tool containing Angron's soul had been something provided by the blue fat cat, Bruce would not be in such a hurry.

The problem was that a certain cyber ghost was watching!

Because he had come into contact with her, Bruce realized that Originium might very well be a ticking time bomb.

If, in the end, Angron was not taken away by the Chaos Gods but instead became part of Old Priestess's power, then would that not make all of them clowns?

"I understand. Then I can only hurry as much as possible. However, let me state this in advance: I am not certain my solution will be stable. You know, many of my tools have undergone varying degrees of distortion."

The blue fat cat thought for a moment and decided to clarify responsibility first.

Although most of his tools still retained their original effects, changes would occur in the details. At this point, the blue fat cat no longer even wanted to complain about it.

"It doesn't matter. Even if Angron turns into a woman, it's still better than his current state, and better than his previous state."

Bruce spoke honestly.

"Hey! What do you mean by that?!"

Angron protested.

"I don't want to turn into a woman."

That would be far too embarrassing!

He truly did not understand these people.

They were clearly noble Primarchs, yet they did not feel any shame at becoming women. They had even already adapted to it.

You people are truly depraved!

"Relax. You can trust the blue fat cat's technology. He'll definitely make you an incredibly fierce-looking body!"

Bruce patted his chest and guaranteed it.

"Then please also create bodies for my comrades."

Angron requested:

"I want to fight alongside them. As for payment, I will find a way to satisfy you."

"But some of your comrades' souls aren't complete."

Bruce pointed out the problem.

"That's fine. Even if only a very small number of them can stand beside me again, I will be satisfied."

"This..."

Hearing that, Bruce could only cast a pleading look toward the blue fat cat.

There were some things where his promise alone did not count. The technical expert had to nod and say it was possible.

"That's fine. Making one body is production, and making two is production too. But I am rather curious. Why not have the Emperor help? He's the expert in this field, right? I remember that much."

"The bodies I make for you will, at most, be usable. In terms of strength and precision, they definitely won't compare to the Emperor's genetic technology. After all, many of my devices and tools are civilian-grade. Their focus is completely different."

If not for the possibility of the Chaos Gods taking advantage of the opening, the blue fat cat would have preferred letting the Emperor help create the body.

As the saying went, every field had its specialists.

I'm just an ordinary civilian-use robot. How could I compare to a big golden genetic expert who has lived for who knows how many tens of thousands of years?

"I do not want to owe that slave master a favor. Besides, I do not want to lead a Legion."

Angron did not conceal his thoughts.

"Then what do you want to do?"

Horus asked unhappily.

"Father entrusted the Legion to you precisely because he values you and trusts your ability."

"And now you want to become a deserter?!"

"No, Warmaster."

Angron shook his head, then spoke righteously:

"The shackles of slavery on me have already been broken. I only want to do what I myself wish to do."

"I will travel across the galaxy with my comrades and fight to liberate countless slaves!"

After becoming a soul body, Angron greatly cherished his current freedom.

He believed this feeling was truly wonderful.

And because of that, when he thought about the many slaves still living in inhuman conditions, he realized that he had to do something.

"Angron, you..."

After learning that Angron's thoughts were so naive, Horus felt anger rising with nowhere to vent.

You are a Primarch, a child of the great Master of Mankind.

Instead of thinking about the Great Crusade, you care only about that laughable dream.

How disgraceful!

"That sounds pretty good to me. I don't see much of a problem. You're free now, after all."

Bruce first offered encouragement, then said to Horus:

"Don't forget, Angron has already been publicly declared dead. News of this has spread too."

"If possible, just let him go for now. Treat it as if nothing happened."

"And speaking of which, even if you force him to continue taking part in the Great Crusade, what use would that be?"

"I have to discuss this matter with Father. In short... Angron, I have no authority to let you leave."

Horus expressed her apology.

"I understand."

Angron did not fly into a rage because of this.

On the contrary, now that he could calmly think through matters, he could understand his brother's difficulties.

Being considerate had originally been one of Angron's excellent qualities. He had also prepared himself for the worst-case scenario.

If the Emperor still forced him to participate in the Great Crusade, then he would do it for now.

Once the Great Crusade was over, there would still be time to do what he wanted.

He had already gone through more than two hundred years of the Great Crusade.

What was a little more time?

At that moment, Horus's communicator rang.

She reached out, tapped it, and answered. Then Abaddon's voice came through.

"Father! The major Legions have already completed their assembly in the Isstvan sector. However... there are several problems."

"What problems?"

"The Word Bearers Legion has informed Warmaster Command that Lorgar Aurelian is missing. The situation within the Seventeenth Legion seems very chaotic, and no one can unify the Legion's opinions."

Lorgar is missing?

What kind of joke is that?

"Is he truly missing, or falsely missing?"

Horus hurriedly pressed.

She had a feeling that this fellow was secretly planning some conspiracy.

"Unclear. According to the intelligence sent back by our informants, it should be true."

"Also, there is another piece of news. For now, I cannot determine whether it is true or false."

Abaddon's tone was heavy as he answered:

"The Alpha Legion appears to have undergone some kind of split. In addition, the Iron Warriors Legion, whom we have been unable to contact, seem to have also fallen into internal conflict because of some disagreement."

"Two Legions falling into civil strife at the same time?!"

"Yes."

"Fine. It doesn't matter. Have them continue gathering as planned. When the time comes, I will personally ask them for an explanation."

What exactly did these people take Father's Great Crusade for?

Progress had barely advanced, yet they had already started infighting first.

As Warmaster, I must properly discipline these people.
