Chapter 58 - Chap:58

Chapter 58 Nami's Technique

A dense crowd on the street surrounded Dante Voss and his companion, and Jeffery glared at him furiously.

Jeffery was angry.

Ever since Bellamy's crew arrived here, their days have been hard.

That guy not only has great strength but also the background of the Donquixote family, and he's arrogant on Jaya Island.

Even as one of the original owners of this place, he dares not provoke them and yields the central spot.

Now there's even an outsider daring to kill them—can't he afford to anger Bellamy or anyone else?

"Kill him! He dared to provoke our Jeffery Pirates; today he'll learn how strong we are!"

"Dare to trouble the Jeffery Pirates on Jaya, you must die!"

"Kill!"

The surrounding pirate members stared at Dante Voss with bloodthirsty and excited eyes.

Their lives were already rough, and today someone touched the trigger, giving them a chance to vent their pent‑up frustration.

The pirates watching around were also chatting.

"The Jeffery Pirates have had a tough time lately; Bellamy's crew keeps bothering them, and this guy is unlucky to run into them now."

"Who can blame him? Bellamy's crew apparently has ties with that big figure—the Dark Emperor who rules both black and white!"

"It's over, this guy is finished!"

They all doubted Dante Voss.

After all, in the first half of the Grand Line, the 40‑million‑bounty Jeffery is already considered a strong presence.

Add to that his hundreds of subordinates, it's hard to imagine how anyone could resist.

Nami's eyes flickered as she looked at the crowd.

The Weather-Weather Fruit Ability she just obtained is perfect for mass attacks,

and she's been practicing it these days, developing many techniques.

Now with so many people, she wants to try out her power.

"Dante Voss, let me do it!"

Nami said gently to Dante Voss.

Dante Voss paused, looked at her, then nodded, but reminded her, "Don't kill them; I'll handle the end."

He didn't want those people to die uselessly at Nami's hands.

"Alright!"

Nami had no intention of killing them.

Her heart is still kind; she just wants to test her Ability.

She let go of Dante Voss, took a deep breath, and her body slowly rose into the air.

"Ability user?"

Jeffery squinted at the floating Nami, becoming wary.

His years of mingling among pirates warned him.

Never underestimate any Ability user; each has weird powers that can easily backfire.

He was about to wave his hand for his men to attack.

But his gaze suddenly narrowed.

The clear sky abruptly darkened, and clouds gathered rapidly.

They roiled and roared, with faint lights flashing within, giving a sense of danger.

"What's that?"

Cold sweat beaded on Jeffery's forehead; his instinct told him the clouds were dangerous.

The other pirates widened their eyes.

They stared in disbelief at Nami hovering in mid‑air.

The girl turned out to be a Devil Fruit user, and she seemed able to control the weather.

What kind of Devil Fruit Ability is this?

They've seen Ability users before; the most Famed here is Bellamy's Spring Fruit, but nothing this grand.

Floating in the air, Nami looked at the dark clouds, a slight smile curling her lips as she lifted her jade arm.

"Run! It's bad!"

Jeffery's eyes widened, and he fled without looking back.

A strong sense of crisis made him abandon revenge, even his dignity.

Survival became his only priority.

The Jeffery Pirates, panicked, also fled as Jeffery ran, scattering in all directions.

The onlookers were terrified by the scene.

None dared to approach; they all ran away.

High above, Nami watched the pirates scattering below, her lips still upturned,

"You can't escape; this is the power of the devil fruit!"

She then swung her arm toward the ground.

In an instant, the sky‑borne clouds burst, releasing terrifying bolts of thunder toward the ground.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

The technique's range was massive, shrouding the entire street.

Not only the Jeffery Pirates but even the surrounding pirates were hit.

All the pirates on the street were knocked down, black smoke puffing from their bodies.

Jeffery wasn't spared; Nami focused on him, sending a thicker bolt of lightning his way.

It knocked him to the ground, spouting a mouthful of blood.

However, Nami had only just obtained the Weather-Weather Fruit, so while the area was large, the power wasn't strong.

Only a few weaklings were outright killed; most were merely paralyzed and couldn't stand.

Even the 40‑million‑bounty Jeffery only suffered a light wound.

Nami gently landed, smiling at Dante Voss, "My technique isn't bad, right?"

She was pleased with her fruit Ability.

She used to be a weakling, and now she could wipe out a whole swath of enemies with ease.

Dante Voss glanced at her, raised his hand, and ruffled her hair into a mess.

"Your Ability was given by me."

Dante Voss felt a surge of emotion.

The power of thunder is indeed the most offensive; any technique linked to lightning is strong.

Nami's Weather-Weather Fruit can control multiple elemental forces, making it an immensely powerful fruit among the Superhuman class.

"What the heck!"

Nami was a bit dissatisfied, dodging Dante Voss's grasp; she had hoped for his praise.

"A strong Devil Fruit Ability, but is that all?"

Jeffery spat out blood‑foam, grabbed his greatsword, and crawled up from the ground.

He was shaken by the technique, but the thunder, though powerful, couldn't truly harm him.

He also thought such a wide‑range technique couldn't be used continuously!

So he felt he still had a chance.

Seeing Jeffery stand, Nami reached out, wanting to continue testing her Ability.

But Dante Voss stopped her,

"Let me do it!"

If they kept fighting, Jeffery would be killed, and they wouldn't earn any slaughter points.

Jeffery saw Nami cease her attack; his suspicion about her grew stronger.

Not giving her a chance, he swung his greatsword at the two of them.

"Die!"

Jeffery's gaze was fierce, filled with murderous intent.

Today he had suffered a huge loss.

Not only was he injured, but his subordinates lay on the ground, their fate unknown.

The pirate crew was effectively dead, unable to survive on this pirate island.

Bellamy's crew had been eyeing him, and in this situation they wouldn't let him go.

He planned to kill the two, then leave and continue recruiting troops.

Dante Voss stared coldly at Jeffery's charge, his body unmoving, only a faint aura of demonic energy emanating.

The demonic aura grew denser and larger.

In a blink it became a massive black hand, grabbing Jeffery tightly.

Seeing the slight smile under Dante Voss's hood, Jeffery sensed trouble.

"Please, let..."

He tried to beg for mercy, but the giant hand squeezed hard.

"Ah!"

A deafening scream echoed, and Jeffery fell silent forever.
