Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Twinkiesdinkies

Morning light streamed through the window, the wind carrying the sound of birds chirping somewhere outside. A new day.

"Urg…"

Otto massaged his temple as he sat up, his back protesting after a night spent sleeping on a bed that was only slightly more comfortable than the floor.

He blinked a few times, letting the events of yesterday slowly filter back into his groggy brain.

The system. The duel. Kallen. Crazy Dave. The taco.

Oh right, the TACO!

He looked over at the bedside table. The taco there is missing.

Instead, his old phone sat there, screen dark. Next to it was the new one—the advanced, nano-tech, sunflower-powered phone that Dave had handed him like it was spare change.

And in his pocket, still warm against his leg, were three seeds.

He pulled them out and stared at them.

Sunflower. Peashooter. Marigold.

2 basic and 1 shop plants from the Plants vs. Zombies game.

If only he didn't have a storage item, he would have stored these precious seeds inside them.

"Looks like I need to once again start collecting those plants even in another world huh?" he muttered to himself.

He sat there for a moment, then reached for the business card.

[TWINKIES DINKIES

Dave's Multiversal Plant Emporium]

Right. Let's see what this thing actually does.

He grabbed the new phone, unfolded it to a comfortable tablet size, and typed in the ridiculous web address.

twinkies-dinkies.multiversal.shop/dave-plants/[ERROR: REALITY NODE NOT FOUND]/catalog

The screen flickered for a second, then—

POP

A bright green interface loaded, looking like someone had taken a 90s website and let a toddler decorate it with crayons. There were animated sunflowers bouncing in the corners, little pixelated zombies doing a weird dance at the bottom, and a header image of Crazy Dave giving a thumbs up, his metal pot hat slightly askew.

WELCOME TO TWINKIES DINKIES!

"I AM CRAZY about plants!"

Otto scrolled down.

The shop was divided into two sections.

First was the Pinata Section. Ten pinatas, listed in a row, each one a little paper mache thing shaped like a zombie head. Below them, in bold text:

[Pinatas! 1000 coins each! Smash 'em open and see what's inside! 10 available per day. Fresh stock every morning!]

He tapped on one. A pop-up appeared.

————————————————————

[Pinata — 1000c]

Contains one random plant seed from across the multiverse!

Rarity distribution:

★ 1-Star: 41.94%

★★ 2-Star: 36%

★★★ 3-Star: 16%

★★★★ 4-Star: 6%

★★★★★ 5-Star: 0.06%

No guarantees. That's what makes it CRAZY!

————————————————————

Otto then taps the pop up again to read through the descriptions.

————————————————————

1-star plants were just... plants. Normal ones. Grass, flowers, maybe a particularly sturdy oak tree. Stuff you'd find in any garden on Earth.

2-star plants had been modified somehow—genetic engineering, selective breeding, that kind of thing. Bigger, stronger, faster. Plants with a little extra oomph.

3-star plants actually contained supernatural energy. Magical plants, or ones from worlds with higher tech levels. The kind that could shoot fireballs or generate electricity or whatever.

4-star plants had consciousness. Spirits, AIs, something that made them more than just... plants. Regional-level threats, the description said. The kind of thing that could change a battlefield.

5-star plants were in the big leagues. Intelligent lifeforms. World trees. Plants that could think and speak and probably judge you for your life choices.

————————————————————

He whistled softly.

"Tsk…Why no guarantee?..."

He then sigh as he thought to himself.

'I guess most PvZ plants are 4 star plants with Plant Heroes such as those in the PvZ garden warfare being 5 star. Though if they even gonna appear in the shop."

Below the pinata section was the Plant of the Week section. A rotating selection of plants, available for direct purchase.

————————————————————

Today's selection:

Cherry Bomb — 4000c

Cherry Bombs can blow up all zombies in an area. They have a short fuse so plant them near zombies.

Wall-nut — 1000c

Wall-nuts have hard shells which you can use to protect other plants.

Potato Mine — 3000c

Potato Mines explode on contact, but they take time to arm themselves. Plant them ahead of zombies!

Snow Pea — 4000c

Snow Peas fire frozen peas making it hard for zombies to advance.

Chomper — 2000c

Chompers can swallow a zombie whole, but they are vulnerable while chewing.

Repeater — 2000c

Repeaters fire two peas at a time!

————————————————————

"Classic stuff," Otto muttered, a small smile tugging at his lips.

Then he saw the price tags and the smile faded.

"Wait. Coins? What coins?"

He looked around the interface for his balance.

Current Twinkies Dinkies Coins: 0

Zero.

He stared at the screen. Then at the pinatas. Then at the plant of the week. Then back at his balance.

"...You're kidding me."

He tapped on the little help icon. A pop-up appeared, written in that same chaotic style.

————————————————————

Twinkies Dinkies uses its own special coins! Not the boring coins from whatever world you're in! That would be TOO EASY!

How to get coins? Plant Marigolds! They produce coins when happy! Also complete orders, daily quests, or just smash stuff in the multiverse!

— Dave

————————————————————

Otto let out a long, slow breath.

"So I need money to buy plants. And to get money, I need to plant a Marigold. And to plant a Marigold..."

He looked down at the three seeds in his pocket.

"...I need to figure out how this whole style system works first before planting a sunflower for sun."

Right. let's check the seed he already got first

————————————————————

Peashooters 4★

Peashooters are your first line of defense. They shoot peas at attacking zombies.

Suncost: 100

Sunflowers 4★

Sunflowers are essential for you to produce extra sun. Try planting as many as you can!

Suncost: 50

Marigold 4★

Produces silver and gold coins over time instead of sun.

Suncost: 50

————————————————————

This information is actually known using an app inside the phone Crazy Dave gave him.

Similar to Pokedex "Gotta Catch'em all"

Here Plant Almanac also told him "Gotta Plant'em All!"

But he only got one seed for each of them so now, how could he get more of this seed?

We need to use his inherent style ability!

He sat cross-legged on the bed, closed his eyes, and reached for that green warmth he'd felt last night.

It was still there. Quiet, but present. Waiting.

The system had given him some information before it bailed—bits and pieces about how this world worked. Combined with the memories of the original Otto Hitler, he had a decent picture.

Every awakened person in this world had a class. Four of them: Dancer, Painter, Musician, Crafter. Each class had its own way of channeling the soul's style.

Dancers used movement. Painters used... well, painting. Musicians used instruments. Crafters built stuff.

The original Otto had been a Painter. A failed one, obviously. That was literally in the description.

Although he got expelled from an art academy, he actually still has some skills in painting albeit an average one at that which is not the reason he got expelled.

But well… Imagine that—kicked out of art school. With a name like Hitler. The irony was so thick you could choke on it.

Anyway,

Each class also had a skill and an ultimate. The skill was something you could use repeatedly, a basic ability.

The ultimate was your big move, the thing that turned the tide when things got hairy.

For him, with his Natural Green style...

He focused harder, and the knowledge surfaced like a bubble rising through water.

————————————————————

Name: Otto Hitler

Style: Natural Green

Level : 1

Skill: Seed Generation Lv1 — Creates seeds of various plants using harmony energy. Plant characteristics depend on energy input and user proficiency.

Ultimate: Heart of Nature Lv1 — Transform into a plant-like form, merging with the surrounding flora. Grants massive stat boosts to self and all allies within range. Duration scales with proficiency.

Passive (1):

Plant Growth Stimulation — harmony energy can stimulate plant growth speed. Can choose between:

Quick Growth: Quicken the growth time for plants, allowing them to mature faster.

Instant Growth: Instantly grow plants with harmony energy. But the plant will slowly disappear after a while.

————————————————————

This is kind of like the character panel like those in the game. It is just unlike in genshin, HI3 or star rail, there seems to be a setting in this world for even the inhabitants to be able to sense and see them.

Of course there are also the stats like Str, Con, , Spd, etc but he just hid them since based on previous games, it wasn't that important.

But weirdly, He can't seem to find the page for constellation, or you know of the sort~

The one where you get multiple characters of the same type.

I guess it is either because he is a non playable character (though he might be a boss or enemies) or the inhabitants themselves can't get it since how come you get multiple copies of yourself in reality?

What? Do you think Mixxyo will remove that kind of feature? Dream on!!

I prefer to believe that his life is inside a novel than to believe that that company will remove that lucrative feature to squeeze every drop of a whale's essence… Ahem back to the point.

He opened his eyes.

"...I guess I'm a support."

He said it flatly. Accusingly. Like the universe had personally wronged him.

A support. A battery. The guy who stands in the back, drops buffs, and watches everyone else have fun.

He was a former noble mage(Painter), albeit a failed one. However, now his Natural Green style was pushing him toward Musician—the support class?

He thought about the original Otto. Breezy Yellow style. Painter class. At least he could do something offensive with wind or whatever. But him? The transmigrator?

Green style. Plant powers. Support.

'Maybe I should play PvZ bgm in battle as I plant those plants and build battle formation…'

"If I'd known I was going to be a support," he muttered, "I would've picked a different isekai package."

He rubbed his face, then sighed.

But fine. Support it was. And as a Musician, he needed an instrument. The original Otto's memories told him that much—your class determined your weapon, and for Musicians, that weapon was whatever you played.

He didn't have an instrument. He didn't have anything, really. Just the clothes on his back, a dying phone, a new phone that ran on sunflower power, three seeds, and about two silver coins to his name.

His old brush for his painter class was still with him, but playing a brush as a musical instrument? Unless you got a drum for it to be a drumstick then nope!

"First things first," he said, standing up. "Find an instrument. Even a cheap one. Then plant the Marigold and figure out this Twinkies Dinkies nonsense."

He tucked the seeds into his pocket, grabbed the new phone, and headed downstairs.
