Silver was drinking a glass of alcohol while Adam was sleeping.
His head was resting on her lap as she lazily combed her fingers through his hair.
She looks out the window. It was already night. The city was even darker than it would be at day. At least then, there would be the sunlight. Now there were only stars, galaxies and of course, the moon.
She glances back down at Adam. He almost looked endearing when he was asleep… she sighs and sets her glass down on the armrest.
''Can I see Moon…?'' He mumbles.
She hums in thought and leans back on the couch.
''Depends.'' She pulls her hand away from his hair. ''Why do you want to see her?''
He slowly opens an eye to look at her...
''Don't play dumb. We both know she wants to come out…'' he slowly sits up and rubs his face. ''And I kind of miss her…''
She glares at him.
''Boy, you even miss me when I'm right in front of you. It doesn't change anything…''
He sighs. It was true. He loved every part of her…
He grumbles and nuzzles her neck.
''I get it, I get it, but come onnnn…''
She places a hand on his face and pushes him away.
'''No' means 'no'. Besides, Moonlight isn't in the mood to come out.''
Adam sighs and leans back on the couch.
''She's almost as stubborn as you…''
Silver rolls her eyes at that as she crosses her legs and arms.
''Maybe tomorrow when I'll leave…''
His eyes snap open as he suddenly stands up. He was now wide awake.
''… You what now?''
She rolls her eyes.
''You heard me. Cap wants to go on an adventure tomorrow.''
Adam's gaze turns dark. All playfulness leaving his expression.
''What do you mean 'she wants to leave'?''
He pins Silver to the couch and hovers over her.
''You think I'll let you leave...? Now that I finally have you back?''
Silver stares at him for a few seconds before sighing again… softer, this time.
''Adam… you seriously expect Capricorn to stay? She's a pirate. She never stays at the same place for long… plus, you can come if you want…''
He looks deeply into her tired eyes. The ones he admired and thought about so many times… before pulling away and looking down.
''I guess I can come…''
A slow, confident grin spreads across his lips.
''Besides, it wouldn't be fun without me, would it~?''
Silver snorts.
''If you say so, idiot…''
He leans in to lightly hug her.
She doesn't return the hug, but she doesn't pull away either.
After a minute or two, she stands up and pats his head.
''I'm going to a bar.''
He raises an eyebrow, though he stays seated, his arms wrapped around her waist.
''Why…? I just bought you at least five bottles of alcohol…
-Yeah, well, bars have that vibe, you know?''
She says with a crooked smile.
''Go back to sleep. I'll be back before morning…''
He looks at her skeptically.
''So, you will stay there all night…
-Better late than ever~''
She pulls away entirely and puts back on her shirt and red sweater.
''I'll come back when you'll need me. Best of luck, chums…''
She leaves.
Adam whines and lays back down on the couch.
Why did she always go to bars anyway…? Her thin, magical body didn't even have organs… SHE COULND'T EVEN GET DRUNK—!
He huffs and looks up at the ceiling.
He should've followed her.
No, he should've held on tighter.
He shouldn't have let her leave…
He looks over at the bag where the bottles are. They were all empty… his eyes widen.
Meanwhile, Coco and Leyla were eating the fishes they managed to catch, while William was still trying to get there.
''WHY IS IT SO HARD???!!!!??!?!'' He grips his hair. ''CAN'T WE JUST FIGHT AGAINST ONE OF YOUR FORMS LIKE EARLIER?!''
Coco snorts.
''You're way too weak for that. I had overestimated you when we first met. 'Oh they know Capricorn. They must be really strong…' that's what I first thought when I saw you. I could feel how low your magical energy was, but I thought it was a bluff.''
William sighs.
He made the worse impression possible… the next time he'll be allowed to see the dragon will be in a while…
When Coco and Leyla finished eating, he sat up.
''Alright.'' Coco smirked. ''Let's get going.''
William blinked before gasping.
''WHAT?!'' His face falls. ''I didn't even get to eat!''
Coco shrugs.
''Not my fault if you're weak.''
He looks over at the mountain.
''I already have been nice enough by letting you two catch a break. I originally said that we wouldn't have any. Much less eat.''
He stretches.
''So, I've basically given you a chance— chance you didn't take.''
William grumbled under his breath and reluctantly followed him. He wasn't one to get angry easily. But Coco just had that talent…
Leyla stared at her brother silently and discreetly gave him a fish she had hidden earlier…
Meanwhile, at the front, Coco smiled softly without looking back at them.
Of course he smelled the fish's scent.
But he knew that William deserved it…
The bar was dark. Only a few lights were on… but slowly, a yellow glow started bathing it…
The doors opened abruptly.
At the entrance was a black figure. A black hat hid the person's face. Her black tailcoat made her figure look bigger, as he wavy brown hair fell over her shoulders…
She lifted her head with a smirk, her sharp yellow eyes landing on the bartender.
''Give me a beer, pal~ and don't you dare say I'm too young.''
The bartender freezes at the interruption. His eyes widening…
''You're back…''
He smiles widely and lifts a beer he is preparing for her.
''The captain is back, everyone!!''
The men at the bar cheer.
The figure smirks and walks all the way to her signature bar stool.
The bartender smiles at her and gives her her beer.
''Capricorn, it's been a while! I haven't seen you on Pottam since I was a toddler! Look at how old I became!''
She snorts and crosses her legs.
''I know, I know. As much as me and the crew love these chickens… we were kinda busy~''
He chuckles.
''Doesn't surprise me… speaking of The Rose Noire… where are they?''
Capricorn shrugs.
''I thought they could use a break… Besides, there's less and less activity…''
The bartender freezes, his eyes widening.
''What do you mean…?''
She clears her throat.
''Well, more and more people are getting kidnapped… by The King…''
'The King' was often connected with Chocland's…
He freezes.
''Oh…''
Capricorn takes off her hat and coat.
''Don't panic… I know that expression very well. Everyone does that expression before I enter a room… and I don't like it when they keep it… I'm on it, alright, old man? I'll save you like always.''
He smiles at her and turns to another customer.
She grips the bridge of her nose when he isn't looking.
She wasn't scared of The King, wasn't scared of anyone, actually. But she didn't like the idea of dealing with him… he wasn't exactly weak. And she had trouble examining his strength…
She sighs and runs a hand over her face.
The kidnappings meant she had less and less opponents to challenge. Sure, the galaxies were wide… but at this rate, there wouldn't be much…
She takes a sip of her beer.
Capricorn could hear faint footsteps approaching her…
She could feel a hand settling on her shoulder as she glares down at it.
''Skibidi Toilet, is that you…?''
The man pauses…
''What did you just call me…?''
She laughs and stares at him.
''Heya, Adam…'' she corrected.
He stares at her for a while before suddenly leaning in, hugging her.
''Oh, angel… you have no idea how much I missed you…''
She just stares blankly at him and pulls away.
''If I give you a drink, will you stop acting as if we were dating—?''
He grins.
''I'll stop every ten minutes after finishing a drink…
-Deal.''
He smirks and sits down next to her.
The bartender slides a cocktail towards him, which he effortlessly catches.
Capricorn eyes him up and down. He hadn't changed one bit. Still so smug. Still so confident. Still so… Adam.
Adam smirks at her and rests his cheek on his palm.
''So, Silver said I could come with you at your next adventure…''
She freezes and sighs. Damn it, Silver. On which side was she on—?!
''Yeah, well, I refuse.''
She sips on her beer before mumbling.
''Speaking of her… I think I caught one of her memories… though it's blurry.''
Adam looks at her curiously.
''Which one…?'' He tilts his head to the side.
She rubs her temple, trying to remember as best as she can.
''I think it was… a brown-haired guy, looking up at her with… tears?''
He chuckles.
Anyone looking up at Silver, made them the shortest person he knew…
''And he said that his parents got… kidnapped by The King….?''
His eyes instantly darken.
Was she talking about William…?
He scoots closer to her and smiles sweetly.
''You must've dreamed…''
He wraps an arm around her shoulders as he looks deeply into her eyes…
''There isn't a single person coming to my mind at that description, angel… you must be tired.'
