Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: The Royal Academy and the Pull of Duty

The chandeliers of the Junagarh palace grew dim in the morning light. As the remnants of the festivities faded, a morning of new responsibilities began. By the side of the palace pond, Prafulla and Snigdha were sharpening their swords, while a little further away, small Prabhasha was chasing colorful butterflies. Her peals of laughter echoed throughout the garden. Arohi watched this scene from afar with deep satisfaction. Suddenly, Prafulla set his sword aside and approached Arohi with a grave expression. A line of worry creased his brow. Standing before Arohi, he asked in a calm voice, "Mother, may I ask you something? Prabhasha is no longer that young, yet why haven't you sent her to any academy or school for her education? I see her busy all day with nothing but playing and catching butterflies."

Arohi hesitated and gave a gentle smile, "She is still very young, Prafulla. Besides, she has no desire to study at all; she's happy as long as she can play. And after all the dangers we've faced, we finally have her close to us, so I thought let her stay with us for a few more days." At that very moment, Snigdha arrived there, laughing. Seeing Prafulla's serious face, she teased him, "What's wrong, Prafulla? Won't you change your temperament even after coming to the royal palace? She is our little sister; why are you so envious if she plays a little? We were forced out of our home in our childhood, but let Prabhasha stay in mother's lap for at least a few more days!"

Prafulla's jaw tightened. He looked at Snigdha and spoke in a rebuking tone, "This isn't envy, Snigdha; this is about duty. Our childhood was spent in the rigorous training of Kanchangarh, which is why we are able to protect ourselves and this kingdom today. If Prabhasha grows up only amidst affection and play, how will she fight if a devil stands before her in the future? Life without education and discipline is like that of an animal. She must receive proper education now, or she will never learn to stand on her own feet."

Hearing the siblings' debate, Aditya also arrived. Placing a hand on Prafulla's shoulder, Aditya said, "Prafulla's words have merit, Arohi. Her future should not be ruined behind a veil of affection. However, Snigdha's point cannot be dismissed either; our hearts will ache if we send Prabhasha far away right now." After remaining silent for a long time, Arohi said steadily, "I too want my child to grow up with strength. Prafulla is right; without education and self-defense, she won't be able to compete with the dark world."

Considering all sides, a decision was made. It was decided that Prabhasha would be enrolled in the renowned royal academy located very close to the palace. She would go to the academy in the morning, practice her studies and combat tactics all day, and return to her mother in the evening. This way, she would remain before her parents' eyes and receive a proper education as well.

The next morning, Prabhasha's new life began. Arohi personally oiled and braided her hair, drew a small tilak on her forehead, and silently prayed to God for her well-being. Handing over new scrolls and a wooden sword to Prabhasha, Prafulla said, "Sister, remember—your identity is not just as a Princess; you must also build yourself as a worthy warrior." Prabhasha bowed her head and agreed to her elder brother's words. As Aditya and Arohi placed her on the academy's chariot, a strange mix of emotions filled their hearts. On one hand, there was the pang of separation, and on the other, the dream of their daughter's bright future. That morning in the Junagarh palace marked the beginning of a new commitment, where love remained, but there was no compromise on the question of duty.
