Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: The Venomous Strike Behind Bars and Arohi’s Fierce Wrath

While a tide of joy was flowing through the Junagarh palace for Prabhasha's birthday, Sushila's madness had reached its peak in that dark hell beneath the palace. Somehow, the news of Prabhasha's birthday had reached her ears. From inside the cell, she began a demonic screaming. Sushila was kicking the prison bars like a maniac, shaking the iron rods with her hands, and scratching the walls with her filthy nails. When a guard came to calm her, she bit him! She began to shriek, "Let me go! Today is my daughter's birthday, and you have kept me locked in this darkness? That witch Arohi has stolen my daughter!"

At that very moment, Arohi descended the prison stairs. She was dressed in an expensive silk saree, with bright red vermilion on her forehead and a royal fire in her eyes. Seeing Arohi, Sushila became even more violent. Standing calmly before the bars, Arohi said, "Why are you screaming like an animal, Sushila? Why don't you settle down? You lost your right over your daughter the very day you abandoned her to satisfy your own greed. Today is my Prabhasha's birthday, and I will not let even your ill-omened shadow fall upon her on this day."

Gnashing her teeth and wrinkling her face, Sushila spat out, "Oh, you wretched, filthy woman! You dare lecture me? You burnt-faced wretch! You're calling me ugly? Have you ever looked at your own face in the mirror? Your face looks exactly like the backside of a street dog! You are a first-class witch, stealing someone else's child to play mother!"

Hearing this foul language from Sushila's mouth, flashes of fire seemed to erupt from Arohi's eyes. But she controlled herself and said in a cold voice, "It doesn't matter how my face looks, Sushila. The language coming out of your hideous mind proves that you are not a human but a demoness. Did you think I would start crying after hearing your nonsense?"

Sushila poked her face through the bars and made a mocking gesture, "If you don't cry, what will you do? Dance? You were a street maid, and a maid you shall remain! Who are you to celebrate my daughter's birthday, you bastard?"

Arohi's patience finally snapped. Reaching through the iron bars, she delivered a thunderous slap across Sushila's face—'THWACK!' Sushila's head spun, and blood trickled from her mouth. Arohi grabbed a handful of Sushila's hair, pinning her against the bars, and said through gritted teeth, "Shut your filthy mouth now, Sushila! Even this slap hasn't quenched the fire in my heart. I feel like dragging you out of this cell, grabbing you by the hair, and smashing you against the ground! I might go mad killing you, but even then, my resentment wouldn't fade! You are a venomous serpent who can even bite your own flesh and blood."

Moaning in pain, Sushila tried to hurl another vile insult, but Arohi shook her head by the hair even harder and said, "Silence! Absolute silence! You will rot right here, Sushila. Today, on Prabhasha's birthday, the subjects are all happy, while you sit in this darkness swallowing your own venom. Don't ruin my mood further with your dog-like barking."

Arohi instructed the guards, "Stuff a cloth in her mouth! The offensive words of this devilish woman must not reach upstairs." As Arohi climbed the prison stairs in utter disgust, Sushila lay groaning and rolling on the floor. She felt that Arohi's slap hadn't just hit her cheek, but her twisted ego. Outside, the festive music had begun, and Sushila sat in the depths of that darkness, turning blue with the venom of her own defeat.
