Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 – A Promise Beyond Death

The forest became silent after the swords fell.

Snow continued to drift slowly from the sky, covering the ground, the trees, and the bodies lying beneath them. The red stains of blood slowly disappeared under the growing layer of white, as if the world itself was trying to hide what had just happened.

The soldiers stood quietly for a moment.

To them, it was finished.

Just another punishment.

Just another sin erased.

The leader of the sect looked down at the two lifeless bodies with cold eyes.

"Take them away," he said.

A few soldiers stepped forward and dragged the bodies across the snow. Their footsteps slowly disappeared into the darkness of the forest.

Soon the place was empty again.

Only the falling snow remained.

But something else was there.

Something the soldiers could not see.

Above the silent forest, two faint lights slowly rose into the dark sky.

Two souls.

Lira opened her eyes slowly.

At first everything was quiet and strange. The cold wind, the snow, the pain in her body—all of it had disappeared.

She looked down at her hands, confused.

Her body felt light.

Almost weightless.

"Asha…?" she whispered.

Another light slowly appeared beside her.

Asha.

She looked just as surprised.

For a moment they simply stared at each other.

Then realization slowly appeared in their eyes.

"Are we… dead?" Lira asked softly.

Asha looked down toward the forest below. Far beneath them she could see the snow-covered ground and two unmoving bodies lying in the distance.

She sighed quietly.

"Yeah… it looks like it."

Lira felt a strange sadness, but also a strange calmness.

She reached out and held Asha's hand again.

"I thought death would be scary."

Asha smiled gently.

"It would have been… if I had to face it alone."

The dark sky around them felt endless, like an ocean of stars stretching forever.

For the first time since the soldiers had appeared, there was no fear.

No hatred.

No voices calling them sinful.

Just silence.

Lira looked at Asha with soft eyes.

"Do you think our love was wrong?"

Asha immediately shook her head.

"Never."

"But the whole world believed it was."

Asha squeezed her hand.

"Then the world was wrong."

For a moment they floated quietly in the dark sky together.

Then a strange light appeared in the distance.

It was warm and gentle, glowing softly like the sunrise after a long night.

Lira looked at it curiously.

"What is that?"

Asha stared at the light as well.

"I don't know."

But slowly they began moving toward it.

Neither of them tried to resist.

The closer they moved, the warmer the light felt.

It wasn't painful or blinding.

It felt peaceful.

Almost comforting.

As if the light itself understood their pain.

Lira felt something strange inside her heart.

A quiet feeling telling her that something was about to change.

"Asha…" she said nervously.

"Yeah?"

"What if we get separated again?"

Asha looked at her seriously.

Then she placed her hand gently over Lira's.

"Listen to me."

Lira waited quietly.

"No matter where we go… no matter what happens next… I will always find you again."

"How can you be sure?"

Asha smiled.

"Because our souls already know each other."

Lira's eyes filled with quiet emotion.

"Then promise me something."

"What?"

"If there is another life…"

Asha nodded before she even finished speaking.

"I'll find you."

"And if we forget everything?"

"Then I'll fall in love with you all over again."

The warm light around them grew brighter.

Their bodies slowly began dissolving into small glowing particles.

The moment had come.

The moment when souls leave one life and enter another.

Lira's voice trembled slightly.

"Asha…"

"Hmm?"

"Thank you for loving me."

Asha looked at her with the same gentle expression she had shown many times before.

"Thank you for being the reason I lived."

The light surrounded them completely.

Their forms slowly disappeared into the glowing warmth.

And just before everything faded away, Asha whispered softly.

"In every life… I will choose you again."

The light vanished.

The night sky became silent.

And somewhere far away, in a completely different world, two new lives quietly began.

Two children were born at the same time.

In different places.

In different families.

One of them was a boy.

The other was a girl.

Neither of them remembered the snowy forest.

Neither of them remembered the pain.

And neither of them remembered the promise they had made.

But deep inside their hearts, something remained.

A feeling.

A connection.

A love that death itself could not erase.

And one day, when fate brought them together again, that forgotten love would awaken.

But the world they were about to live in was far more dangerous than the one they had left behind.

A world filled with magic, kingdoms, warriors…

And the same hatred that had once destroyed them.

Their story was beginning again.

But this time, it would change the fate of the entire world.
