"That's good!" Son Goku smiled in relief when he saw how sincere the apology was. He nodded. "Make sure you keep your word!"
"I will! I definitely will!" Raditz said, thumping his already aching chest as if swearing an oath.
Then, cautiously—extremely cautiously—Raditz began stepping away, inching toward the mountain where his spaceship had crashed.
Every step he took was careful and shaky. His body hunched slightly from pain, but his eyes never left Branch, terrified that the boy might suddenly sneeze again.
Before leaving, Raditz couldn't help but turn back one more time, staring deeply at Branch—burning that terrifying image into his memory, while also making sure the child wasn't stopping him.
"Uncle, are you leaving Earth already?" Branch asked with a bright, friendly smile, waving as if seeing off a guest.
"Y-yes…" Raditz forced out a smile uglier than crying.
"Come visit again sometime!"
"Of course! Definitely! I'll come back… to visit!" Raditz nodded vigorously.
But hidden from Son Goku and Piccolo, his clenched fist dug into his palm.
You little monster… just wait.
I'll contact Vegeta! I'll bring him here and destroy you… along with this planet!
Raditz staggered forward, trying to leave with dignity—but immediately tripped from weakness and pain.
"Careful…" Goku muttered.
Raditz steadied himself against a rock and forced out,
"Kakarot… goodbye…"
Then he took off, wobbling through the air toward the mountain.
Inside the Spaceship
After struggling, Raditz finally squeezed into his damaged pod and slammed the hatch shut.
"Finally… safe…"
He pressed the launch button.
WHOOSH!!
The ship blasted out of the mountain and shot into the sky like a silver streak, breaking through the clouds and racing into space.
Through the window, Earth shrank behind him.
Raditz almost cried.
"I'm free… I'm alive…"
But then—
Hatred filled his eyes.
I'll report everything to Vegeta… that strange hybrid child… Kakarot… all of it!
He activated the communicator—
Something Is Wrong
"…Huh?"
Raditz froze.
The navigation screen showed something impossible.
Earth… was getting closer.
"WHAT?!"
He rushed to the window.
The blue planet… was growing bigger.
"NO! That's impossible! I set the course AWAY from Earth!"
He smashed buttons, pulled levers, reset coordinates—
Nothing worked.
The ship continued…
Returning to Earth.

Raditz almost cried.
"Nappa!! Thank god!! Where's Vegeta?! I have urgent news!!"
"Vegeta's busy. Did you finish your mission?"
"…No…" Raditz said weakly.
"What happened?"
"My scouter is broken… and the spaceship too…"
"…That's it?" Nappa said. "Just use another ship!"
