Chapter 130 -  I, Vegeta, Never Lie!

After all, Raditz had already left Earth more than an hour ago.

At the maximum speed of a Saiyan space pod, he had long since flown beyond the galaxy containing Earth.

At such an enormous distance, Broly's current sensing range was insufficient to locate him precisely without a specific direction.

"Broly… actually, this can't completely be blamed on Raditz."

Seeing Broly frown, Krillin stepped forward cautiously.

He scratched his head awkwardly while trying to smooth things over.

"At the time, Raditz warned us that the battle could be life-threatening. He told everyone to decide for themselves whether they wanted to fight… Yamcha chose to participate on his own."

"Continue."

Broly nodded slightly.

His expression softened just a little.

"Yamcha actually had the upper hand at first," Krillin recalled sadly. "He even defeated one of the Saibamen pretty easily. But then… maybe because he got careless… or maybe because none of us expected the Saibaman to go that far…"

Krillin sighed heavily.

"That thing self-destructed."

"Raditz even tried to stop it, but it all happened too fast."

Then Krillin quickly added:

"It's okay though, Broly! We still have the Dragon Balls, right? Shenron can revive Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu! We can definitely bring them back!"

At the mention of the Dragon Balls, hope reignited in Krillin's eyes.

Yes.

They still had one final hope.

As long as they gathered all seven Dragon Balls, Shenron could restore their fallen friends to life.

The process would be troublesome—

But not impossible.

"Then we'll set Raditz's matter aside for now."

Broly nodded slowly.

Raditz really had warned everyone beforehand that the fight could be fatal.

And since Yamcha willingly accepted the battle—

His death could not be blamed entirely on Raditz.

Especially since Raditz had tried to stop the self-destruction at the end.

Thinking about this, Broly's anger toward Raditz eased slightly.

But now—

There was another matter that needed the truth.

The destruction of this city.

And the responsibility for Tien and Chiaotzu's deaths.

Nappa listened from the ground with mixed emotions.

Why?

Why forgive Raditz?

Even worse—

These people blamed Yamcha's death on me!

And because of that, I lost a leg!

Nappa clenched his teeth furiously.

The phantom pain from his severed limb seemed to intensify again.

"I'll give you two one last chance."

Broly's voice turned icy.

Like frozen steel scraping across ruins.

He slowly turned around, his gaze moving between Nappa and Vegeta floating above.

"Tell the truth honestly."

"Who destroyed this city?"

"Was it Vegeta's order… or was it Nappa acting on his own?"

Vegeta continued floating in the air with his arms folded.

His expression remained calm and indifferent.

Nappa took a deep breath.

This was a matter of life and death.

If he was exposed as the liar—

He was finished.

He absolutely had to force Vegeta to carry this blame.

"It was Vegeta's order!"

Nappa shouted firmly.

"He ordered me to destroy the city and kill every Earthling we could find!"

After saying this, Nappa's eyes shifted slightly.

That alone was not enough.

He needed more details.

More "evidence."

His brain rapidly constructed additional lies.

"And that Tien guy too!"

"It was Vegeta who ordered me to kill them!"

"He said he would chase the Namekian and Kakarot's son while I stayed behind to kill the remaining three!"

Nappa even deliberately imitated Vegeta's commanding tone.

That arrogant voice of absolute authority.

Then he secretly glanced toward Vegeta.

Vegeta: "..."

Silence.

Then—

Vegeta's body began trembling violently.

Not from fear.

From pure rage.

Veins bulged across his forehead like writhing worms.

His teeth ground together so hard they seemed ready to shatter.

Vegeta had never imagined that Nappa—

The idiot subordinate he always looked down upon—

Could be this shameless.

This was no longer simple framing.

This was outright betrayal.

A malicious attempt to throw him directly into hell.

"Hmph."

Vegeta squeezed the sound out through clenched teeth.

"I never chased those two at all."

"I went to eat."

And that was the truth.

Vegeta really had left because he was hungry.

Not because he was hunting Gohan or Piccolo.

"That's only because you didn't have a scouter!"

Nappa immediately retorted.

"You couldn't find them, so you gave up and went for food instead!"

Vegeta closed his eyes.

He no longer wanted to argue.

Debating with someone this shameless felt like an insult to his intelligence.

Broly's gaze moved repeatedly between the two Saiyans.

Then he frowned deeply.

From their expressions alone—

He genuinely could not determine who was lying.

And Broly hated that feeling.

He was used to solving problems with strength.

Used to using fists to determine right and wrong.

But now—

He needed truth.

And truth was hidden behind a thick fog between these two Saiyans.

"You three."

Broly turned toward Krillin, Piccolo, and Gohan.

"Come analyze this too."

Krillin rubbed his bald head awkwardly.

"…Hard to say."

Truthfully, Krillin wanted to believe Nappa acted alone.

After all, Nappa was the one who brutally murdered Tien and Chiaotzu.

But—

Vegeta was Nappa's superior.

Among Saiyans, lower-class warriors obeying higher-class warriors was completely natural.

Maybe…

Maybe Vegeta truly had given the order.

Could this entire disaster have originated from Vegeta all along?

Krillin became conflicted.

Piccolo shook his head slightly.

"I can't tell either."

"Broly Uncle… I… I don't know either…"

Gohan spoke softly.

The kind-hearted child looked completely troubled.

He did not want to wrongly accuse an innocent person—

But he also did not want the guilty to escape punishment.

Unfortunately, he simply could not tell who was telling the truth.

Meanwhile—

Nappa secretly rejoiced internally.

Yes.

Exactly like this.

Keep things unclear.

There were no witnesses.

No evidence.

As long as he insisted Vegeta gave the order—

No one could prove otherwise.

"I see."

Suddenly, Broly's voice became terrifyingly cold.

He bared his teeth slightly.

A dangerous light flashed within his eyes.

"The liar…"

"You've completely angered me."

He stepped forward slowly.

Cracks spread beneath his feet.

"You really think I have no way to figure this out?"

Nappa's heart tightened instantly.

An extremely bad feeling swallowed him whole.

"But… Broly," Krillin asked cautiously, "what can we even do? There aren't any security cameras left… and even if there were, the city's destroyed."

It truly was difficult.

Without evidence—

How could anyone determine which person was lying?

Unless one side confessed willingly.

But that obviously would never happen.

Then suddenly—

A timid voice spoke up.

"Broly Uncle…"

"I might have an idea…"

Gohan stepped closer and whispered something quietly into Broly's ear.

Piccolo leaned closer curiously as well.

"My mom showed me a book once…"

"It said if you want to deal with liars, you can do this… then this…"

As Gohan explained the method in detail—

Broly's eyes gradually lit up.

"That's a good idea."

Broly smiled and gently rubbed Gohan's head approvingly.

"I'll go get the equipment!"

Krillin suddenly became excited too.

He patted Gohan's shoulder enthusiastically.

Then—

Krillin immediately shot into the sky and disappeared.

Watching the group whisper among themselves, Nappa's uneasiness grew stronger and stronger.

What are they planning?

What did that kid say?

Why does Broly suddenly look so confident?

Time passed slowly.

The ruins remained silent except for the wind—

And Nappa's increasingly panicked breathing.

About five minutes later—

Krillin returned.

This time, he carried a strange metal box.

Roughly the size of a microwave oven.

Its dark metal surface reflected the dim sunlight faintly.

There were no labels on it—

Only two circular holes large enough for a person's arms.

Krillin carefully placed the box onto a relatively flat stone.

Nappa and Vegeta both stared blankly.

Neither understood what this strange device was for.

"Uh… this is a lie detector recently invented on Earth!"

Krillin explained proudly.

He pointed toward the two openings.

"You just stick your hands into the holes and touch the sphere inside while repeating your statement."

Then Krillin turned toward Nappa with a meaningful smile.

"For example, if Nappa says Vegeta gave the order…"

"If he's lying, the machine will glow red."

"If he's telling the truth, nothing will happen."

Vegeta silently looked at the device.

A lie detector?

Earth had technology like this?

Even after years of fighting across space, Vegeta had never encountered anything specifically designed to detect lies.

Does this thing actually work?

"Let me demonstrate first!"

Krillin grinned widely.

He shoved both hands into the holes.

Then loudly declared:

"I'm a woman!"

Instantly—

The machine glowed bright red.

The red light leaked through the seams of the box dramatically.

Because obviously—

Everyone knew Krillin was lying.

What kind of woman looked like that?

"I'll do another demonstration!"

Krillin pulled out his hands.

The red light vanished immediately.

Then he inserted his hands again.

"I'm a man!"

This time—

Nothing happened.

No light.

No sound.

Perfect silence.

"See? That's how it works!"

Krillin proudly explained.

"You absolutely must touch the sphere inside, okay?"

"Otherwise it won't activate!"

Then he looked toward Broly confidently.

Broly nodded slowly.

Then turned toward Vegeta and Nappa.

"Who goes first?"

Nappa: "..."

Nappa's mouth twitched violently.

How am I supposed to do this?!

You ripped off all my limbs!

Am I supposed to use my mouth?!

Just then—

Vegeta descended from the sky.

"Hmph. I'll go first."

Without hesitation, he walked directly toward the machine and inserted both hands inside.

Krillin immediately reminded him:

"You HAVE to touch the sphere!"

Vegeta glanced at him suspiciously but complied anyway.

Soon—

His fingers touched a cold, smooth sphere inside the machine.

Then Vegeta raised his head proudly.

"I'll repeat myself one more time."

"I never ordered Nappa to kill anyone on this planet."

His voice was steady and firm.

Everyone stared silently at the machine.

Three seconds passed.

Five seconds.

Ten seconds.

Nothing happened.

The machine remained completely dark.

"The machine didn't react!"

Krillin immediately announced.

"That means Vegeta was telling the truth!"

Vegeta looked deeply at Krillin.

A nearly invisible smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

This bald guy…

isn't bad.

"Hmph."

"I already said it."

"I, Vegeta, never deny my own actions."

Nappa instantly panicked.

Cold fear surged through him like icy water.

"No! I haven't tested yet!"

"What if the machine also doesn't react to me?!"

He shouted desperately.

Broly stared at him silently.

Then suddenly smiled.

A terrifying smile.

"Fine."

"I'll give you one last chance."

"Go ahead."

Nappa froze.

Go ahead?!

YOU TORE OFF MY ARMS AND LEGS!

Then—

He saw Broly take out another familiar green bean.

A Senzu Bean.

"Open your mouth."

Broly spoke casually.

Nappa's eyes lit up instantly.

Another one!

If I eat this—

How much stronger will I become?!

Maybe over 100,000?!

Nappa became wildly excited.

If I reach over 100,000 power level—

I won't need to fear Broly anymore!

He immediately opened his mouth eagerly.

"Whoosh!"

Broly flicked the bean directly into Nappa's mouth.

Nappa swallowed it instantly.

The moment it entered his stomach—

Warm energy exploded through his body.

It felt like rain falling upon a drought-stricken desert.

Like frozen flesh submerged in hot water.

The energy spread through every cell.

Then—

Miracles happened.

His severed limbs regenerated rapidly before everyone's eyes.

Bones regrew.

Muscles reformed.

Skin sealed perfectly.

In less than ten seconds—

Nappa stood up completely restored.

He stared at his own hands in disbelief.

Then immediately sensed his power level.

His energy had become vastly stronger again.

"Not bad."

Broly calmly evaluated him.

"Your battle power has reached 60,000."

"60,000?!"

Nappa nearly screamed from excitement.

Although still short of 100,000—

This was already an unbelievable leap.

Before coming to Earth, his power level had only been 4,000!

Now it had multiplied fifteen times in a single day!

Meanwhile—

Vegeta's expression became unbelievably ugly.

Looking at Nappa's restored body and feeling his massively enhanced power—

Vegeta nearly exploded from jealousy.

Broly!

Why are you rewarding HIM?!

That traitor?!

That liar?!

Why does HE get stronger?!

A terrifying thought suddenly appeared in Vegeta's mind.

Maybe…

Broly should rip off MY limbs too…

Then feed me one of those beans…

I want stronger power too!

The desire was so intense that Vegeta almost said it aloud.

But he forcefully suppressed it.

As the Prince of all Saiyans—

He refused to appear that pathetic.

Nappa quickly calmed himself down afterward.

60,000 still wasn't enough.

Broly's power was far beyond imagination.

Even now, Nappa still couldn't defeat him.

Right now—

The most important thing was surviving the lie detector test first.
