Eldrin's expression was quite grim, although their combined strength made them a terrifying force. Fighting a fleet of seven million is still no easy task, and only he is immortal here. The others could still be killed, and unlike him, they could not fight forever; they would eventually tire. Eldrin then spoke; his voice could even be heard in space.
"I suggest a war of attrition, even without black magic I could still exhaust their forces, I cannot tire after all; though it's gonna take a while."
The Ancient was amused by this and asked.
"You're saying you could outlast a fleet of seven million, just by yourself?"
Eldrin didn't speak and in an instant, one hundred thousand shadow clones appeared. The reason Eldrin didn't use a hundred thousand clones as bombs was due to the simple fact that his magical reserves were not vast enough to turn a hundred thousand vessels into effective bombs; the best he could currently do was 10 thousand shadow clone bombs that each had the range of a nuclear bomb and enough power to disintegrate any matter it came into contact with.
But Eldrin smirked; however, he could actually create up to a hundred thousand shadow clones, though not as powerful as him, they were certainly troublesome to deal with.
Eldrin pointed at the enemy fleet and all the shadow clones disappeared.
In the enemy fleet, an alien informed his captain of incoming enemies and with no hesitation, the captain ordered to fire at will.
Simultaneously, 1 million spaceships fired precisely at the incoming clones, wiping them out completely.
However, Eldrin's smile only grew, and at his side, another one hundred thousand shadow clones appeared. As long as all the clones are eliminated, he can create them again and again and again. The only way to prevent him from creating them again is to capture all Eldrin's clones without killing them, and it would still not work; the shadow clones will simply self-destruct, allowing Eldrin to create them again.
The fleet fired again at the incoming army of shadow clones, wiping them out. But Eldrin created them again. His smirk had turned into a sadistic one.
Erskine couldn't help but shiver. "I knew it! This old guy is a madman too. Look at that sadistic expression on his face!"
The Ancient One looked at Eldrin with an impressed gaze and said.
"A simple yet effective tactic, though it's gonna take quite a while for a satisfactory result."
Eldrin nodded, a hundred thousand mere clones won't do anything against such a huge fleet; however, what if those one hundred thousand clones kept coming back endlessly, no matter how many times they get wiped out, they will come back again two seconds later, naturally, the fleet will be forced to use ammunition, or.
In the enemy fleet, one clone managed to slip through, reaching one spaceship. It raised its hand and the whole spaceship started getting destroyed from the inside until.
BOOOOM!
But right after the clone was destroyed.
When the fleet saw that, they grew tense and fearful and started concentrating their ammunition at each clone, ensuring not a single one broke through, although the destruction of one spaceship was essential nothing. The reality was that if all one hundred thousand clones managed to break through, one hundred thousand spaceships would also be wiped out, and each time they wiped the clones out, more came in an endless stream, slowly but surely reducing their numbers until their combat effectiveness became insufficient to handle the actual enemy, which is the human empire.
In the mother ship of the alien fleet was the leader of the enemy fleet.
"Concentrate fire on the man who is summoning those creatures! Now!" ordered the leader.
But a subordinate of his couldn't help but ask.
"But sir, what about the clones?!"
"Sacrifices are necessary in war, and if we manage to take out the summoner, they will be worth it" answered the leader and continued with a grim tone.
"If we don't take out the summoner, he will endlessly create clones and drain our ammunition, and when that happens"the leader didn't need to finish his sentence; everyone knew what he implied. Those clones are dangerous despite their low durability; each one of them has the capability to destroy our spaceships and completely ignore our force fields. If we can't eliminate them due to low ammunition then this war might as well be lost.
Two million spaceships locked into Eldrin and the other 3 figures and fired simultaneously.
However, Eldrin wasn't concerned. Erskine and the ancient one opened gigantic portals in front of the millions of powerful blasts, and then opened a few more portals that sent those millions of blasts back at the fleet.
"Quite the mistake that was "said Erskine telepathically.
Eldrin nodded but said.
"Indeed, but they won't pay for it; their force fields could naturally withstand their own blasts."
And he was right, the leader of the alien fleet was surprised by this, but not really concerned about the blast, but about the fact that they could not take out the summoner.
The alien leader asked.
"How many casualties?"
His subordinate answered with a grim expression.
"One hundred and twenty thousand, sir." He wasn't talking about the casualties from the millions of blasts, but about the casualties that the one hundred thousand clones caused; some were not taken out fast enough and managed to take more spaceships.
The alien leader sighed in exhaustion and though"this isn't working at all, we are already in a crisis and we are not even fighting the enemy fleet" he sat down and thought about a way out of this.
"At our current speed, it will take us roughly one day to reach Earth, by then, our numbers and ammunition would have been reduced quite a lot, leaving us helpless when confronting the human empire's fleet."
The alien leader chucked in disbelief.
"Four figures, no, actually just one, has managed to hold back a fleet of seven million, by himself!" thought the alien leader, who then shouted with anger.
"CURSE ME!, CURSE MY ROTTEN LUCK!, AND CURSE THESE FUCKING MONSTERS THAT OPERATE BEYOND COMMON SENSE!"
After venting at his misfortune, he gave an order with a defeated expression.
"Call reinforcements immediately. This can't go on, and in the meantime, do not let those clones cause too many casualties."
