Days passed and the humans of the invincible world continued with the construction of their empire. They took advantage of the fact that cities had already been constructed and focused their attention on building steel walls that surrounded the cities,and of course, they dug out enough space underground to construct cities in case the ones on the surface fell.
Yet even with the advanced technology they have been given, completing the necessary construction's on time is still a Herculean task not currently possible without the stones.
In the clear blue sky, a figure floated,overlooking the construction of the steel wall; he was Sebastian.
Sebastian's expression turned grim.
"There's no time,construction speed is way too slow,and it won't be long before they arrive"
But Sebastian's eyes lit up and he spoke telepathically to Eldrin.
"My liege, could you spare some of your clones?to speed up the construction of the wall"
Eldrin's eyes snapped open and with just a thought, hundreds of thousands of clones manifested beside Sebastian, awaiting for orders.
Sebastian grinned and with just a thought, he ordered the clones to help speed up the construction. Now, of course, that won't speed up the process by much, but it's still better than nothing. Not only that, but the clones cannot tire, meaning that they could work indefinitely.
And just like that, a week passed. Although the construction of the wall has not been fully completed, it still should protect the newly established empire for some time.
Astartes marched outside the wall, forming a protective line that spanned for kilometers. There were millions of them,clad in their standard Astartes armour, wielding both chainswords and boltguns,on top of the steel wall's countless high-tech energy and electromagnetic cannons, including other weapon's were installed.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The footsteps of an unusually tall astarte could be heard; the astartes made way for him,the man nodded, then proceeded to walk in front of the line.
He turned to face the line of millions of Astartes that spanned for kilometers.
"TODAY,IS THE ACCURSED DAY,THAT OUR PRECIOUS WORLD WILL BE INVADED!"his booming voice echoed through kilometers, reaching all the astarters.
He paused for a second and continued with resolve, his voice carrying ruthless determination.
"HOWEVER,WE ARE HERE! TO STOP THEM FROM GETTING PASSED THAT WALL AT ANY COST!"The man pointed at that gigantic wall behind the line of Astartes"His voice boomed even louder, filled with anger.
"THEY WILL NOT GET PAST US,EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE DEMONS SHALL BE SLAUGHTERED IN THE NAME OF HUMANITY!AND IN THE NAME OF THE DARKLING HIMSELF WHO IS GUARDING THIS WORLD ON THE OTHER SIDE"
He screamed as loud as he could.
"WE WILL NOT FALL!NOT IN A MONTH, NOT IN A YEAR, NOR IN A HUNDRED, WE WILL STAND AS THE ETERNAL PILLAR, THE ETERNAL SHIELD OF ALL HUMANITY"
His s voice turned malicious.
"AND WITHOUT FAIL THEY WILL BE EXTERMINATED, FOR ONCE AND FOR ALL!"
He raised his armoured hand in the air and all the astartes followed,their manly and deep shout's echoed.
The unusually tall Astartes then turned to face the direction where the portal was, planting his chainsword on the ground. He knew that there may not be an invasion in their world just yet. Sebastian had told them that the man called Darkling was guarding it. The reason why he mentioned Darkling was because of certain videos and historical facts about him that fascinated him.
He still remembers the day when Sebastian took him to meet that darkling. He looked like a dark angel, he was as tall as an astarte, yet he wasn't one,that much he could tell,he had beautiful black wings, long, wavy dark hair and dark eyes that seemed to consume the light itself.
The man sighed in pity; he really wanted to take a picture of that man to show it to his kids or grandkids.
On the other side of the portal stood that same man looking at the ceiling of the underground base as if he could see something approaching his location.
A scythe manifested on the man's right hand, emitting a black and dark purple misty aura that smelled of death and corruption; his whole body was also emitting that very destructive purple aura.
BOOOOOOOM!
A giant purple and black destructive shockwave was unleashed by Eldrin, disintegrating the whole underground base, including 20 kilometers of land. He now stood at the center of a 20-kilometer-wide and 10-kilometer-deep crater.
Eldrin looked up at the grey sky filled with sulfur and the smell of decay and then at the countless creatures that he could identify as the mindless ones; their numbers were even more vast than the ocean itself,their size's ranged from 3 meters to a colossal 40 meters,some were humanoid other;s resembled alien creatures of all sorts.
They were of stone, though not normal stone, of course,and they mindlessly and mercilessly destroyed everything in their path; not even animals were exempt.
A three-meter-tall humanoid mindless one effortlessly picked up an elephant and crushed it into meat paste,gore and blood fell to the ground.
Eldrin's eyes narrowed, he extended his hand, his palm facing upward's,in a mere instant, a dark purple sphere of pure destructive energy appeared in his open palm.
And with a casual throw, the sphere struck the ground beside thousands of those stone creatures, instantly disintegrating them,but Eldrin didn't smile at all when he saw this; he had to use dark magic for that attack,and his magic reserves were finite,that attack didn't really waste much of his magic power but still, any attack infused with black magic drained his reserves even further.
Eldrin manipulated the shadows with just a thought,creating hundreds of thousands of spikes that pierced hundreds of thousands of golems from below.
Eldrin's eye's norrowed further.
"As expected, their durability is to be feared"
Eldrin had managed to eliminate thousands of golems from that attack alone,yet most survived,with some damage of course,but not enough to stop their advance.
