Chapter 46 - Speed Changes Everything

Theo's POV

The next morning—

I arrived early.

Earlier than usual.

The field was empty.

Quiet.

Good.

I stepped forward.

Raised my hand—

Water formed.

Five circles appeared mid-air.

Thin.

Wide.

Stable.

Positioned in a straight line.

Then—

Water gathered around my feet.

Condensing.

Forming—

Boots.

Light.

Compressed.

Ready.

"…Let's see," I muttered.

I moved.

Fast.

Jump—

First circle—

BOOM—

The pressure launched me forward instantly.

Second—

Faster.

Third—

The ground blurred.

Fourth—

Control held.

Fifth—

Maximum speed.

Then—

I landed.

Hard.

The boots shattered.

Water dispersed.

Speed—

Gone.

I slid back slightly.

Then stopped.

Balanced.

Controlled.

"…Good."

"Yeah… that's not normal."

I turned.

Kairo stood there.

Watching.

Of course he was.

"…You've been there long?" I asked.

"Long enough," Kairo said, walking closer.

"…Since when can you do that?"

"…Since last night."

He blinked.

"…Of course."

"…It's not perfect."

"It doesn't need to be," he said.

Then grinned.

"…It's fast."

"…It's controlled."

"…It's annoying," he added.

"…Good."

Footsteps echoed again.

The others arrived.

Dax yawned.

"…Why are we early—"

He stopped.

"…What was that?"

Lyra narrowed her eyes.

"…You moved."

"…Fast," she added.

Mira looked surprised.

"…Was that a new spell?"

Ronan said nothing—

But watched carefully.

Selene's gaze sharpened.

Bran—

Just stared.

"…Show us," Dax said.

"…Yeah," Kairo added. "Do it again."

I didn't respond.

Just stepped back.

Raised my hand.

The circles formed again.

Five.

Perfectly aligned.

Water boots formed around my feet.

Then—

I moved.

Jump—

First—

BOOM—

Acceleration.

Second—

Faster.

Third—

Faster.

Fourth—

Even faster.

Fifth—

Maximum output.

Then—

Landing.

Boots shattered.

Silence.

"…What," Dax said.

"…was that?"

"…Movement spell," I replied.

"Movement?" he repeated.

"That's not movement—that's teleporting."

"It's not teleportation," Lyra said.

"It's acceleration."

"…Five stages," Selene added quietly.

"…Each one increasing speed."

I glanced at her.

"…Yes."

Bran stepped forward.

"…Do it again."

"…Why?"

"…I want to see it properly," he said.

Kairo smirked.

"…He wants to copy it."

"…I don't," Bran snapped.

"…You do."

"…I don't."

"…You do."

"…Focus," I cut in.

Silence.

"…This isn't something you copy," I said.

"It's built."

That stopped them.

"…From what?" Mira asked.

"…Understanding," I replied.

"Pressure."

"Flow."

"Timing."

Dax frowned.

"…So we can't learn it?"

"…Not yet."

"That's harsh," he muttered.

"It's realistic," Lyra said.

I stepped forward.

"…But you can learn the idea," I added.

That got their attention again.

"…Movement doesn't have to come from speed alone," I said.

"It comes from how you use your magic."

I looked at each of them.

"…Ronan—your earth can launch you."

He blinked.

"…Launch…?"

"…Controlled bursts," I said.

"…Not just defense."

He nodded slowly.

"…Lyra—wind can accelerate you."

"…I know," she said.

"…But you're not using it for movement."

She paused.

Then—

"…You're right."

"…Mira—light can reduce resistance."

"…So I move easier?" she asked.

"Yes."

"…Dax—reinforcement can increase speed."

"…That I know," he said.

"…But you overuse it."

"…Yeah."

"…Selene—your illusions can misdirect movement."

She tilted her head slightly.

"…Not just others," she said.

"…Myself."

"…Exactly."

Finally—

I looked at Bran.

"…Fire can propel you."

He frowned.

"…Like an explosion?"

"…Controlled," I said.

"…Not what you did yesterday."

Silence.

Then—

"…Right," he muttered.

Kairo crossed his arms.

"…So basically," he said—

"everyone needs to stop being bad."

"…That's one way to put it."

"…I'm very helpful," he added.

"No, you're not," Lyra said.

"I try."

"You don't."

I ignored them.

"…Today," I said—

"We apply movement."

That changed the mood.

"…Finally," Dax said.

"…About time," Kairo added.

"…Same rules," I continued.

"Control first."

"Then speed."

No one argued.

Because now—

They understood.

Speed without control—

Was just another mistake.

I stepped back.

Watching them take their positions.

Because this—

Would change everything.

Not just how they fought—

But how they moved.

How they reacted.

How they survived.

And this time—

They weren't starting from zero.

They had seen it.

Felt it.

Understood it.

At least—

A little.
