Arc 3 chapter 45
Chaos was still roaming in the city and screams, smell of burning trees and rubble covered the city, but the city was not done yet, atleast there was still hope for the big power houses to make a comeback, but the wrong power house was awakening instead.
Lik's body was still sitting there on the ground with blood covering the floor and still split half into two. Lik's body started glowing green and suddenly a miracle happened for the wicked man. His body started regenerating and boom! He came back to life.
How and why? It's simple... Smart use of Universal Frames which Lik learned at the last minute... Or because the circumstances allowed it to be. Just when Lik was just sliced by Lazark, he was able to delay his death before he collapsed on the ground, wasn't he already dead the moment he got cut? Well scientifically yes but his brain did not process it yet, because it happened so fast that fate hasn't thought of him dead yet meaning he could still do something while conscious which was stop one frame of his body's motion when he collapsed on the ground. Since he did not spend much mana during the battle with Sion, he was able to use a bit of holy/light magic that he knew to completely heal himself within that frame using only his mind to do all of this. What Lik just performed is healing of another level, but a near death experience won't shake him and now since he will no longer be caught off guard well... Let's say it might be a blood bath if he comes across a peaceful faction member.
Lik got up from the ground after he healed himself and brushed off the dust in his clothes and started tracking Sion and Lazark's aura which was still faint in the air.
Lik: (intense look on his face) I have you now motherfuckers!!!
Sion was sitting with Lazark right after he finished eating the food Lazark's wife provided and drinking some water. Lazark waited for Sion to finish, then he could share the information he had about the Red Hand to Sion.
Lazark: there's something I wanna talk to you about... There's this organization called the Red Hand and I've been noticing them for a while now.
Sion: an organization?! I thought it's just a criminal group of some sort that was anti-government.
Lazark: so you know about them? And that they're anti-government? Then that simplify some few things.
Sion:.... I'm listening.
Lazark: before I was elected as the director of this city I was a night for the Gazli house which is a fallen noble family which used to run this city along side the previous director. I would always fulfill my duties without questions like any night should and the head of the Gazli house knew of my noble deeds and services... I thought he trusted me.
Sion: thought?
Lazark: yeah.... One time he sent me on a mission along with some other capable comrades of the royal night unit to go and clear up the undead that suddenly roamed on the sewerage system out of nowhere. We were told that these zombies were the lowest rank of undead and it would easy for us... At first I questioned in my mind that why would they deploy nights for weak low level undead? But I got the answer to my question. When we got there and indeed we fought the undead for a while, but... In the middle of the subjugation an undead chimera showed up...for the worst it was a an S rank one at that..... Everyone died while being ripped to shreds left and right to me! (tearing up) my friends and brothers were among that subjugation unit..... Originally my ability allows me to summon five of me, but I sacrificed two and now three are left... No two if we include today. Anyways when I was running I noticed a man who showed up from the sewer water and cut the chimera in one hit.
Sion:.....
Lazark: I couldn't see much from the far distance but I did catch one thing... He had Red Hand tattoo on his face, he looked back to me and smiled... He fucking smiled at me... That's when I knew it was a set up. When I went back to the Gazli house the head asked how was I still alive. (laughs) I lost control and killed him there on the spot with my two hands, after the deed was done I searched his mansion until I found it.
Sion:... Found what?
Lazark: a file containing evidence about the Red Hand and their plot for the city... It's as if someone wanted me to find this... But who and why? Anyways I used this to my advantage and overthrow the Gazli house and became a noble in their stead. As a noble I was able to expand my research on the Red Hand and also help the public in many ways until I was elected as the new director of Lotus and since then... Well its not important now.
Sion: yeah? Well you said you know some stuff about the Red Hand?
Lazark: of course...
The Red Hand also known as the shadow soldiers of the underground world. The Red Hand is an organization that specializes in all forms of illegal research, illegal markets and and high crimes all for the sake of fighting the current world order and other motives unknown. The Red Hand had deep roots within almost the whole of the northern and western continents and Lotus city was one them. Lazark knew of this ofcourse, but they're not easy weeds to remove and even attempting to remove them can cost you a lot. Lazark knew that they were bound to do something to Lotus city, but even he couldn't have guessed that they wanted to take Lotus city all along.
Sion: why would you assume they want to take the city?
Lazark: don't make me look stupid kid. You know exactly why. You already know that this is not about a political war don't you Sion Grey.
Sion:... I mean it's kinda obvious when you already know about the Red Hand, but I thought they came for me and the Crimson Fate if it's really them coursing this.
Lazark: why is that?
Sion: well...
Sion explained about his experience with the Red Hand relating to Drogo and Anos whom they fought. This information gave a spark in Lazark's eyes.
Sion: and that's all I think... I know it's not much but that's all I have.
Lazark: no no no that's a lot... No it's perfect!
Sion: huh?
Lazark: that's a very useful information! Here I thought they were unstoppable and couldn't die, but one of them did! Though the thing about Alga's little sister is a bit troubling, but I'll figure something out. Sion thank you for this, it looks like we can still fight back! I need to prepare myself for war against these bastards causing chaos in my city! (angrily) will you help me Sion Grey! Ye who is chosen by Alga himself.
Sion: (fire in the eyes) of course! I have a bone to pick with those guys for targeting innocent children!
Lazark: that's the spirit!
Sion: (sorry Alex but I'm gonna kill every racist faction member that I come across to even if they surrender after all me and you are not the same... Even if it makes you angry, it's for your sake and I have Martha now too. Dirty methods are inevitable)
Lik: I'm glad you're in a battle ready spirit cuz I need fun opponents after a slaughter.
Just when Lazark and Sion were about to get ready to go to the surface, Lik had already reached where they were and he was covered with blood in his hands and face which were not his.
Lazark:... How many people did you kill on your way here?!
Lik: well that's rude not even a welcome back from death Mr Lik! Hahaha! Well to answer your question... I Killed everybody until I reached you guys.
Sion:..... Is that so?..... Die!!! [lighting strike LV8]
Lazark: [wind blade LV8]
Lik: (dodges all the attacks) well with my unique ability I'm gonna put you guys through hell!
Sion: well shit! What now.
Lazark: he acts like his ability is perfect but it's not.
Sion: how?
Lazark: in truth he cannot control the motion of something that he cannot see or feel.
Sion: oh like how you sneaked up on him earlier?
Lazark: yes if only we can find a way to attack him without him noticing.
Sion: but that's gonna be hard cuz he's like super cautious now, his mana field is wide as hell now.
Lik: are you done talking? Well prepare yourselves HAHAHA! (charges straight to them)
Lazark summoned a wall to devide them between them and him, but in a blink of an eye he was right behind them and stabbed Lazark in the back. Sion immediately threw a [lightning strike LV8] at him, but Lik used Lazark as a human shield and it stroked Lazark, but he didn't take much damage and brushed it off and broke Lik's grip and quickly healed his wound and went back to Sion's side.
Sion:.... Hey Lazark, you said there are two of you right?
Lazark: well I know what you're thinking and though I may not like it but there's no choice isn't there?
Sion: I can't think of anything else sorry.
Lazark: fine.... let's do it!
Sion: OK here we come!
