Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 — Phase Three: King of Ruin

The world broke. Not shattered—collapsed. The Desert King's body split apart. Cracks spread across its entire form like veins of light. Then—It exploded. Not outward. But inward. Its massive body compressed, sand and stone collapsing into itself as if gravity had reversed. The storm intensified. Darker. Heavier. More violent. Kai felt it instantly. His body sank slightly into the sand.

"…What is this…?"

Boss Ability: Gravity Distortion

The Desert King reformed. Smaller. But far more terrifying. Its body was no longer stable. Fragments of stone floated around it, suspended in the air. Its limbs were sharper. More refined. Its golden eyes now burned with a violent intensity. This was no longer a guardian. This was destruction itself.

The Pressure

Kai tried to move. His body resisted. Every step felt heavier. Slower. Even breathing became difficult. Aria staggered beside him.

"…I can barely move…"

Kai clenched his jaw. "This isn't just pressure…"

"…It's controlling space."

The Desert King raised its hand. Slowly. Deliberately. Then—It closed its fist.

Impact

BOOOOM.

The ground collapsed. Not from impact—From force. Invisible pressure crushed everything in a wide radius. Kai reacted instantly.

"Move!"

He grabbed Aria and forced his body forward. They barely escaped the center of the attack. Behind them—The ground had been flattened. Completely. As if something had erased it.

No More Room for Error

Kai released Aria. His breathing was heavy now. His vision slightly blurred. Too many injuries. Too much strain. The boss moved again. Faster than before. Even under the pressure—It was accelerating. The Desert King appeared in front of Kai. No warning. No delay. Its arm came down. Kai raised his dagger—

CRASH.

The impact shattered the ground beneath him. His knees hit the sand. His arms trembled violently.

"…Too strong…"

The pressure pushed him deeper. His body screamed. Bones creaked. This was the limit.

Breaking Point

Aria rushed in from the side. She attacked—But the floating stone fragments around the boss moved. Automatically. They blocked her strike. Then—They shot toward her. Like bullets.

THUD

THUD

THUD.

She barely dodged. One cut her shoulder. Another grazed her cheek. She stumbled.

"…It's defending itself automatically!"

Kai's mind raced.

Phase 1 → Heavy, slow power

Phase 2 → Speed + environment

Phase 3 → Control + precision

"…No wasted movement…"

"…No blind spots…"

This boss had no weakness. No clear one. Unless—

The Core

Kai focused. Through the chaos. Through the pressure. Through the pain. And then—He saw it. A faint glow. Inside the boss's chest. Not on the surface. Deep. Hidden.

"…That's it."

"Aria!" he shouted. She turned. Breathing hard. "Buy me ten seconds."

She frowned. "…You're serious?"

Kai didn't answer. He just looked at the boss. Eyes steady. Focused. Aria exhaled. "…Fine."

"Don't die."

Aria's Stand

She charged. Straight at the Desert King. No hesitation. No holding back. Her blades moved faster than before. Sharper. More aggressive. She wasn't trying to win. She was buying time. Every second—A risk. Every movement—A gamble.

The boss responded instantly. Its attacks focused on her now. Relentless. Violent.

Kai's Last Push

Kai stood still. His body trembling. His vision narrowing. Everything hurt. Everything screamed at him to stop. But he didn't. His shadow spread. Deeper than before. Wider. Darker. The Shadow Warlord emerged again. Then—Something new. The shadow behind Kai pulsed. Unstable. Hungry.

The Abyss Responds

Kai's heartbeat slowed. Then—Matched something else. Something deeper. Colder. The abyss inside him moved. Reacted.

New Ability Awakening…

Kai's eyes widened slightly. "…Not now." But the system didn't stop.

The Opening

Aria was hit. Thrown across the battlefield. She crashed into the sand—Not moving for a second. Kai's eyes sharpened. "…Now."

He moved. Ignoring everything. Ignoring pain. Ignoring fear. Just one goal. The core. The Desert King turned. Its golden eyes locked onto Kai. It raised its hand. Gravity tightened. The air itself resisted him. But Kai didn't stop.

Step.

Step.

Step.

Each movement heavier than the last. His body screamed. His vision darkened. But he kept moving. Because this—Was the only chance.
