Yahiko did not disturb Shinji and left the medical room directly.
After stepping out the door, he glanced back at the tightly shut entrance.
Since staying inside would only be in the way, he simply stood guard outside, silently praying that Nagato and Konan would be safe and sound.
He took a deep breath, walked down the corridor, pushed open a door at the corner, and entered a lounge.
This was a place where their group often gathered to chat on ordinary days.
At the moment, unfinished food was scattered around the room, and numerous liquor bottles lay haphazardly on the floor.
When they received the message from Hanzo's side yesterday, they had thought the Akatsuki could finally reach an agreement with him, believing that the Land of Rain was about to usher in the long-awaited peace.
Everyone had raised their glasses here, celebrating the coming tomorrow. Yet, just a day later, everything had changed beyond recognition.
Yahiko righted an overturned chair on the floor and picked up a few rolling liquor bottles, murmuring softly:
"Daifuku and the others seemed to have left in a hurry."
With the base empty, Yahiko instantly understood: the remaining Akatsuki members must have gone out searching for them.
But they had fought fiercely in the valley for so long, yet no comrades had come to their aid.
This could only mean one thing: those comrades had likely met with misfortune.
Yahiko slammed his palm on the table, his face darkening almost to the point of dripping water.
"Who did this?"
"Was it Hanzo, or that masked man?"
After a long silence, he laughed mockingly at himself.
Even if he knew who it was, what could he do? A wave of frustration surged in his heart.
In this battle, he had clearly seen the gap in strength between them.
Whether it was Hanzo or that mysterious masked man, with their current power, they were far from being a match.
"Unless... unless Nagato can truly master the Rinnegan."
Once this thought took root, it grew like wild grass, fiercely occupying his heart.
"Nagato possesses the Sage's Eye. As long as we have enough time to grow, we will definitely become stronger."
Yahiko slowly closed his eyes, sighed softly, and temporarily buried today's frustrations deep within.
Inside the medical room, the air carried a faint scent of blood mixed with the pungent smell of disinfectant.
Shinji busied himself between the three sickbeds, treating the wounds.
Fugaku, Nagato, and Konan all primarily suffered external injuries, which were well within his current medical abilities to handle.
During his stay at Tsunade's home, he hadn't just memorized medical books by rote; he received daily guidance from Tsunade and Shizune themselves. His medical skills were now sufficient to serve as a formal medical ninja in the Medical Corps.
Shinji's gaze swept over the three of them, finally settling on Fugaku.
He couldn't help but marvel inwardly: the vitality of the Uchiha Clan was truly more tenacious than he had imagined.
At the same time, he also silently grumbled about Yahiko in his heart.
In the original storyline, Yahiko had merely impaled himself on Nagato's kunai and died on the spot.
Looking at the three before him, Konan had been pierced through the body by the Wood Spear Technique, and Nagato had his legs injured by Hanzo's Explosive Flame Formation, yet both had stubbornly survived.
Not to mention Fugaku, who was the most severely injured. Not only had he also been impaled by the Wood Spear Technique, but his right forearm and right calf had been devoured and decomposed by Shinji's Bottom Spring Fate.
Even after enduring such heavy injuries, Fugaku still had not fallen.
Shinji awkwardly rubbed his nose.
Most of the wounds on Fugaku's body were caused by him.
But he believed that once Fugaku woke up, he would understand everything!
Shinji composed himself, took a deep breath, and quickly formed hand seals.
"Summoning Technique!"
A puff of white smoke dispersed, and within the medical room, a two-meter-tall Katsuyu was summoned once again.
Katsuyu surveyed the unfamiliar environment, pausing slightly when she saw Shinji before speaking softly:
"Shinji, I didn't expect to be summoned again so soon."
Her gaze quickly swept over the three on the sickbeds, and she immediately understood. "So, you need my assistance with treatment?"
"That's right, thank you, Lady Katsuyu."
"But Shinji, it seems you still don't know the Hundred Healings Technique."
Shinji nodded and smiled. "My Chakra is more than sufficient. As long as you help stabilize their injuries, that will be enough."
One of Katsuyu's abilities is to resonate with Tsunade's Chakra through the Hundred Healings Technique, then divide and attach to the injured, achieving large-scale remote healing.
Although Shinji doesn't know the Hundred Healings seal, his Chakra reserves are astonishingly vast. With only three people to treat, it would be enough to prevent their injuries from worsening.
"That shouldn't be a problem. I'll give it a try."
Katsuyu nodded gently.
Her body wriggled slightly, and a crack opened in the center, instantly splitting into three large and one small Katsuyu.
The smallest one leaped lightly onto Shinji's shoulder.
The other three slowly crawled and attached themselves to Fugaku, Nagato, and Konan.
Shinji furrowed his brows slightly, sensing the Chakra connection with the Katsuyu on his shoulder. The moment the connection was established, a portion of his Chakra instantly drained away.
A faint "hiss" sound simultaneously came from the three on the sickbeds.
Shinji stepped closer to look. A small, thin wound on Konan's cheek, likely from a shuriken during the battle, was visibly healing and fading. Within seconds, it completely disappeared.
"As expected of Lady Katsuyu."
Shinji sincerely praised.
The three Katsuyu attached to the injured simultaneously raised their heads, their tentacle-like eyes swaying up and down, clearly pleased by the compliment.
Shinji chuckled softly and slowly walked over to Fugaku.
Of the three, his injuries were the most severe and required priority treatment.
A pale blue Chakra glow lit up in his palm.
Shinji activated the Chakra Scalpel and quickly tapped the severed ends of Fugaku's arm and leg, cutting off the necrotic nerves.
He then reached into the medical kit and pulled out a sharp scalpel.
Fugaku's wound had torn flesh turned outward, with exposed white bone, and much of the tissue had already begun to blacken and necrotize.
Shinji carefully excised the necrotic tissue while using the Mystical Palm Technique to repair and constrict the ruptured arteries and veins. Then, with Chakra Threads, he precisely sutured the torn muscles and fascia, maintaining intense focus throughout, not daring to make a single mistake.
When it was Konan's turn, although the bleeding from her abdominal wound had temporarily stopped, it had not been fully sutured.
Shinji gently cleaned away the clotted blood and necrotic tissue from the wound, used Chakra to carefully reposition the displaced internal organs, picked up a medical suture needle, and meticulously repaired the layers of muscle and skin in her abdomen.
Finally, there was Nagato. The explosion from the Explosive Flame Formation had severely shattered the bones in both his legs.
Shinji could only push each dislocated and shattered bone back into place, then carefully secure them with splints and bandages.
The lights in the medical room were stark white, and fine beads of sweat covered Shinji's temples.
Having just endured a fierce battle and now continuously exerting precise control over Chakra with high intensity, his hands had begun to tremble slightly.
His gaze shifted constantly among the three sickbeds. Half a day later, Shinji finally let out a long sigh of relief.
The injuries of all three were finally completely stabilized.
