Chapter 55 - Ch55:The One They Follow

Chapter 55: The One They Follow

Time passed quietly.

The human village continued to grow.

More houses appeared around the plains. Paths formed between them from constant walking.

The humans no longer lived like wandering groups.

They had settled down.

The strongest cultivators now trained near the center of the village.

Hus was among them.

His control over Life Energy had improved over the years. He was no longer the weak injured human from before.

Now, many people looked at him with respect.

Not because he forced them.

But because he was reliable.

Alicia watched everything silently.

The plains were more stable now.

Life Stones buried underground slowly spread Life Energy through the area.

The grass became thicker.

Trees grew larger.

Even the air felt cleaner.

Humans had also improved their tools.

Stone spears became sharper.

Wooden shields became sturdier.

Some houses even used packed mud between wood for stronger walls.

"…Adaptation."

Then—

movement appeared near the outer area of the village.

A group of humans returned from gathering herbs.

But they were running.

Behind them—

a beast rushed forward.

A large Stone Boar.

It had red eyes and thick gray skin. Its body was larger than normal beasts from years ago.

Clearly stronger.

The humans panicked.

Some grabbed weapons.

Others quickly moved the children and weaker people back.

The Stone Boar charged straight toward the village entrance.

Before anyone could react—

Hus stepped forward.

He tightened his grip on his stone spear.

Life Energy flowed through his body.

Then he moved.

The ground cracked slightly beneath his feet as he rushed forward.

The Stone Boar lowered its head and charged.

Hus dodged to the side at the last moment.

He struck the boar's neck with his spear.

The attack did not kill it.

But it forced the beast backward.

Several other cultivators joined immediately.

Not perfectly organized.

But coordinated enough.

One distracted the beast.

Another attacked from the side.

The fight was rough and messy.

But different from the past.

Humans were no longer helpless.

Finally—

Hus found an opening.

He jumped forward and drove the spear into the Stone Boar's eye.

The beast let out a loud cry before collapsing.

Silence followed.

Then—

cheers erupted from the village.

Some humans looked at Hus with excitement.

Others looked relieved.

" trust ."

That trust spread quickly.

Later that night—

many humans gathered near the center of the village.

Not for fear.

Not for danger.

But naturally.

When discussions happened, they looked toward Hus first.

When tasks were divided, they waited for his opinion.

No one announced him as leader.

No ceremony happened.

But everyone already understood.

Hus had become the one they followed.

"…A structure is forming"

Humans were changing faster now.

Not just physically.

But socially.

Meanwhile—

far from the village—

a silver figure moved quietly through the forest.

The Silver Fox.

Its fur had become brighter over the years. Thin strands of pale energy flowed around its body.

Its eyes were calmer now.

Smarter.

The fox had also grown stronger.

A Third-Level Spirit Beast.

Yet it never approached the village directly.

Never attacked humans.

Never joined the beasts fighting for territory.

It only watched.

At that moment, the Silver Fox stood on a high rock near the forest edge.

Its gaze rested on the human village for several seconds.

Then—

it looked upward.

Toward the sky.

Toward the world itself.

As if its waiting for something.

The fox remained still for a moment before quietly disappearing back into the forest.

Alicia continued observing silently.

Humans were developing.

Beasts were growing stronger.

And some creatures were becoming smarter than expected.

The world was changing faster now.
