Chapter 5

Experiment

"I killed Raghav."

Siddharth's voice was low.

Kriti looked at him… then laughed lightly.

"Stop joking. This isn't the time."

"I'm not joking," he said.

His expression didn't change.

Kriti's smile faded.

She lightly slapped the back of his head.

"How can you even say something like that?"

Siddharth looked down.

"Everything has been weird since I got… that thing."

Kriti frowned.

"What thing?"

Siddharth hesitated.

"That device… in my phone. It gives me pills. I can't even say its name… or it will appear."

Kriti slowly nodded.

"Yesterday night…" Siddharth continued, "my body moved on its own."

Kriti froze.

"I could see everything… but I couldn't control anything."

His voice trembled slightly.

"It felt like I was a prisoner… inside my own body."

Kriti stared at him.

"Who is controlling you?"

"I don't know," Siddharth replied.

"But someone definitely is…"

Kriti took a step closer.

"Explain properly."

Siddharth took a deep breath.

"At first, I thought it was just a bad dream. But it's not."

"When I go to sleep… I can feel my body moving."

"I can see everything clearly… but I can't stop it."

He looked at his hands.

"Everything feels real… like I'm just watching myself."

A pause.

"You can see the scratches on my face. And I haven't been in any fight."

Kriti's expression turned serious.

"You've been feeling heavy for two days…"

Siddharth nodded.

Then Kriti spoke again—

"I only got information about last night."

Siddharth's eyes widened.

Realization hit him.

"…Let's go," he said suddenly.

"We need to check something."

---

They both rushed to their teacher's house.

She lived alone.

The door was slightly open.

A bad feeling filled the air.

Siddharth slowly stepped inside.

And then—

He froze.

She was dead.

The room showed clear signs of struggle.

Everything was destroyed.

Siddharth's hands started shaking.

"…No…"

Tears fell from his eyes.

His expression broke completely.

"I did this…"

Despair filled his face.

He turned to Kriti.

"You're the only one who knows about this… please don't tell anyone."

Kriti looked at him.

Then nodded.

"I won't."

She took a deep breath.

"Come to my house."

Siddharth immediately shook his head.

"No. It's not safe for you."

Kriti grabbed his ear and pulled him.

"Just come with me, you idiot."

Siddharth didn't resist.

---

At her house—

"Inform your parents," she said.

Siddharth nodded and called them.

"I'll stay at a friend's house tonight. It's for a school project."

After the call, he looked around.

"Where are your parents?"

"They're not home," Kriti replied.

"Oh…"

Kriti changed the topic.

"What do you want to eat?"

"I'll cook," Siddharth said.

She raised an eyebrow.

"You know how to cook?"

He smirked slightly.

"Just watch."

---

After some time—

He prepared food.

Surprisingly… it was perfect.

Kriti looked impressed.

They ate together in silence.

But the tension never left.

---

Night came.

Siddharth sat on a chair.

Kriti stood in front of him.

"…This is for safety," she said.

She tied him with a rope.

Tightly.

Siddharth didn't resist.

"If something happens… we'll know the truth."

He nodded.

Then slowly closed his eyes.

---

Silence.

Minutes passed.

Then—

His eyes suddenly opened.

Cold.

Empty.

The rope tightened—

CRACK.

It broke.

The chair shattered.

Siddharth stood up.

Slowly.

And started walking toward Kriti.

Step by step.

Kriti's heart started racing.

"…So it's true."

Her voice trembled.

Siddharth's body moved forward.

But inside—

He was fighting.

Struggling.

Trying to stop himself.

Don't go near her…

Don't hurt her…

His mind screamed.

But his body didn't listen.

And for the first time—

Siddharth realized…

He was no longer in control...
