The day started of normal. Exep with the fact that Wincents friends almost broke down his door when they rushed in. And he almost fell out of bed of how frightened he got.
He didn't even realised what they were saying and had to ask them to repeat. They were going to the snowy outpost, all of them, and right now.
This was their suprise for him. They even helped him pack his stuff, theirs was already packed and ready. Before he even got his bearings he was already having breakfast before they departure.
That's how things started and currently they were resting up on one of the smaller campsites in the trees. Reason: they have gotten chased. And no, he doesn't want to talk about it.
At this point he wouldn't be surprised if they got face to face with that Gore magala.
After they small rest, they begun they journey again but now with much more caution.
Along their journey they saw multiple monsters but the most striking one was the Azure Rathalos. And of course along the way Mary was rattling of about the different monsters and their variants.
All things considered they were having a good time except for that little bit of a chase at the beginning.
Wincent wished he has forgot why his friends were doing this in the first place, but of course he has been looking around not just so they won't get ambushed but because of the Gore magala.
He just can't get it out of his head, but he will pretend to be okay for his friends. He doesn't want them to worry about him.
Finally they have arrived at their last peaceful resting place. This one is located at a base of the mountain range, this one is still under construction. It was planned that this one was going to be a focal point for moving forward in getting deeper into the snow region.
It's name is still under debate, since noone has come up with a good enough name.
They arrived before sundown but none of them wanted to explore it yet since they just wanted to rest first. Exploring it can wait until tomorrow.
After they settled into their room for the night all of them had fallen to sleep except for Wincent. He layed awake until he couldn't stand it and decided to just take a shot walk outside.
That walk took him outside the already built part of the outpost. He was currently sitting on a small rocky ledge looking at the clear starry sky. He wished that Peet his Palico was here with him, but he stayed behind at Nirvana.
He got startled ot of his thoughts by someone walking towards him. It was Frank in full gear weapon and armour. And that's when Wincent realised that he didn't even have his weapon with him.
"Going for a walk without your weapon wasn't the best idea. I do hope you realise that Wincent."
"Yeah I do now."
With a sheepish look on his face Wincent turned back around to continue looking at the stars.
Frank knowing him for a while now know that he won't speak unless he wants to, decided to at least make sure he doesn't become a monsters midnight snack. So he let his scout flies out just as a precaution.
Time went by like a slow moving river. Neither of them spoke about anything. And when Wincent finally stood up and they decided that it was time to go back, and before their friends decided to look for them, the scout flies came back to Frank red.
Both of them knowing that it meant a monster was nearby. Frank quickly took out his bow gun and aimed it at the direction where the scout flies came back from. Wincent was tense as well and he started to really regret his walk.
Both of them were still for a while Frank looking for any monster that might appear. While Wincent was quickly looking for ways both of them could use to escape if a monster does show up.
After a while when no monster showed up they both started to calm down. And that's when a black blurry figure of a monster emerged from the shadows and started flying away fast.
Both of them was shocked by this and considering that Wincent ended up sitting on the ground again, they were shocked not just a little bit.
"Hey Winc?"
"Y... yeah?"
"How about we go back to our beds and pretend this night didn't happen?"
"I.. I'm all for that."
After they midnight scare both of them hurried back to their beds to try and sleep. But when they got back before they could open the door and sneak in it opened.
Their friends were just about to go look for them as well when they returned. And both of them were dragged into the room, and promptly got a scolding about leaving at night. That scolding was mostly directed towards Wincent, since he left without armour or a weapon.
Even he agreed that he made a big mistake.
After that they talked about the other monster that showed up out of nowhere. Frank and Wincent described it as a "spiky" monster.
At with that description Mary was already looking through her notes to find a monster that fits that description.
Wincent because of his friends insistence went to bed. And while laying in bed Wincent decides that he won't leave his friends side from now on when he's out.
Since when he does something like what happened to night always happens. But it's not just because of the monsters, he still wants to find out of who that mysterious hunter was that night.
But for whatever reason he just doesn't feel like he should meet him alone at all.

The next day.
Wincent, Dorothy and Jack was looking through the still under construction outpost while the others were busy asking questions about the safest path to the outpost called WhiteStorm.
And also telling the chief hunter about the monster that they saw last night.
The outpost was coming along pretty nice. The protective measures are being put up as well. Since the place they built it is at the edge of the forest, swamp, and the mountain range multiple kinds of monsters could show up.
While admiring it Jack saw other hunters coming from the forests direction. A few of them they recognised as the ones that were on the mountain with them.
One person that came was the outposts doctor Jasper. He was easy to recognise since he was one of the people they interacted with, and he wasn't wearing anything to hide his face.
Since the arriving hunters were busy they asked him why they were here.
After Jasper recounted what were discussed back at Nirvana they got a clear picture.
Since the Gore magala was a dangerous monster finding it was a top priority. And with the fact that it flew towards the snow region that's the place they are going to investigate first.
While other hunters go to other locations to look for it.
While taking they failed to notice that one of the hunters that arrived was looking right at them, specifically at Wincent.
