Chapter 160: Conquering the 50th Floor Boss!
.....
In the world of the Endless Continent, most monarchs were obsessed with clutching every shred of imperial power for themselves. But Seito was different. He decentralized his authority, delegating the vast majority of the Empire's day-to-day affairs to the Harbingers.
It was a level of trust and strategic foresight that few could ever hope to match.
"Dismissed," Seito said, waving a hand.
"Yes, Your Majesty!" The generals filed out of the room in perfect formation.
Once they were gone, Seito turned his gaze toward Sora and Shiro. "What's next on your agenda?"
"Questing," Maple chimed in before anyone else could speak.
Seito nodded. After a brief chat with his Harbingers, he activated a teleportation sigil and returned to the Snezhnaya Empire.
Snezhnaya Empire: The Royal Palace.
Back in his private chambers, Seito opened the War Merit Shop and immediately checked the Blacksmith Set. It was a five-piece specialized gear set. Because of its unique crafting bonuses, it cost twice as much as standard Orange-tier equipment.
Worse yet, this particular version lacked a set bonus. If he wanted the version with the full set effects, it would cost at least thirty million Merit points—an astronomical sum.
However, Seito wasn't worried. With ten million points already in his pocket, he just needed to topple two more empires. But for now...
"Time to pay the 50th-floor Boss a visit."
Without wasting a second, he initiated a direct teleport.
God's Domain: The 50th Floor.
Standing before the hundred-meter-tall gates of the Boss Chamber, Seito tightened his grip on the Spatial Dragon Blade and stepped into the abyss.
Inside the labyrinth, the disturbance caused by Seito's entry was impossible to ignore. The Boss—the Ancient Troll—snapped its eyes open, peering down at the intruder with cold, murderous intent.
Seito remained unfazed. He looked up and slowly unsheathed his blade.
Even among those at Level 100, the gap in power could be a canyon. The Snowman King from the earlier floors might have been a threat in the first twenty levels, but here, it would be nothing more than an ant. Even Level 60 mobs in the upper reaches of the 40th floor were stronger than that king.
The Ancient Troll, however, was at the true pinnacle of Level 100. Seito could sense that its greatest strength wasn't its defense, but its overwhelming offensive capabilities.
After all, the beast wielded four different weapons simultaneously.
"HUMAN!!" the Ancient Troll roared. It raised a massive staff, unleashing a gale of bone-chilling frost.
Whoosh!
In an instant, the entire arena was transformed into a frozen, ice-blue wasteland. Seito's eyes narrowed. To change the terrain with a single basic skill spoke volumes about the Boss's raw power.
Zip!
Seito took to the skies, Dragon Blade in hand. The Dimensional Rubik's Cube materialized behind him, deconstructing into twenty-seven floating cubes that orbited his body like a planetary system.
"Go!"
With a sharp command, the cubes streaked toward the Troll like missiles. Seito followed up immediately, raising his blade high before bringing it down in a vertical arc.
"Dimensional Slash!"
Flash!
[-110,000,000!]
"What insane defense..." Seito muttered, genuinely surprised.
His current attack power was monstrous. With a speed stat in the tens of millions and the 50x damage multiplier from the Spatial Dragon Blade, a single hit should have theoretically dealt around 1.5 billion damage. To see the Boss only lose 110 million meant its damage mitigation was off the charts.
Still, "difficult" didn't mean "impossible." The Troll was still slightly weaker than the mini-bosses on the 51st floor, making this fight well within Seito's comfort zone.
"GRAAAH!"
The Ancient Troll howled in pain, stumbling back as it clutched the jagged wound. Its roar shook the chamber.
"DIE! DIE! DIE!"
Boom! Rumble!
A relentless barrage of attacks rained down on Seito—sword arts, spear thrusts, high-tier magic, and enchanted arrows. Yet, every single strike passed harmlessly through Seito's form as if he were a ghost.
"Hah." Seito let out a mocking smirk.
He used to have to play it safe when his damage was lower. Did the game really think he was still afraid of a Level 100 Boss?
With a Spatial Displacement, he flickered directly into the Troll's face.
"Spatial Dragon's Breath!"
"Spatial Storm!"
"Void Step!"
"Dimensional Slash!"
[-69,200,000]
[-72,030,000]
[-120,000,000]
Damage numbers erupted in a frantic swarm over the Boss's head. Its massive health bar began to drain as if a dam had burst.
9 billion... 8 billion... 6 billion... 4 billion...
Until finally, only 500 million remained. Seito didn't give the beast a single opening to recover, unleashing one final, devastating chain of attacks.
KABOOM!
[System: Level Up! Current Level: 70]
[System: Obtained 20,000 Free Attribute Points.]
[System: 'Spatial Dragon Blade' set effect triggered. Obtained 200 Divine Power.]
[System: First Solo Kill of the Boss 'Ancient Troll'! Reward: God-tier 'Divinity Pearl'.]
[System: Due to server synchronization and uncleared bosses on other floors, the 51st floor is currently inaccessible.]
Seito stared at the notifications, his lip twitching.
"You've got to be kidding me..."
The legendary "God-tier" reward for a solo kill on the 50th floor was a Divinity Pearl—an item that was basically common loot on the 51st floor. It was a bit of a slap in the face.
He grumbled to himself. While this would be a dream item for any other player, to him, it was practically vendor trash. At least the 200 Divine Power and the jump to Level 70 were solid gains.
"That's enough for today," Seito decided. He exited the Boss Chamber and logged out immediately.
[Server Announcement: Player 'Sei' has cleared the 50th-floor Boss!]
[Notice: The 51st floor remains locked until further synchronization.]
The announcement sent shockwaves
through the community. Players across the globe were left reeling.
"Are you serious?! The 50th floor is already cleared?"
"As expected of Emperor Sei!"
"All hail our Sovereign! Where his blade points, our hearts follow!"
"Good grief! You guys sound like you're in a cult. By the way, Saber is my waifu!"
"Piss off! She's mine!"
"You two seem awfully angry... why don't you settle this with a duel? Or maybe some 'sword-fighting' of a different kind?"
"Whoa, stay back! Get away from me!"
"Let me see! Let me see what he dropped!!"
