Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Moonlit Black Cats

On the street of a fairly bustling town, people around were watching two people walking in the middle of the road.

It wasn't because of how pretty they were or anything, but because the two were wearing identical cloaks, were of the same height, and one of them was hugging the other's arm.

By now, Asuna was completely immune to this kind of situation. In the beginning, Asuna had been very uncomfortable, especially since Kaede had absolutely no defenses against her, with her arm constantly sinking into that pair of plump assets on Kaede's chest.

Although Asuna was a girl and would sometimes joke around with friends, this kind of situation was a first. Back then, Asuna would blush like a peach, but now she could remain composed; after all, they were both girls.

"Hey! Over here!" At this moment, Kaede and Asuna were called out by a voice. Turning around, they saw Kirito and some other people standing there.

"You two are still wearing your cloaks." Kirito couldn't help but say when he saw Kaede and Asuna's familiar cloaks.

"Yeah."

Asuna and Kaede chose to remove their cloaks at this moment, and suddenly, there was a chorus of gasps.

Those completely identical faces were both existences of absolute beauty.

And the girl behind Kirito, upon seeing the appearance of Kaede and Asuna, couldn't help but have her eyes dim.

"You..." Honestly, Kirito was also taken aback; he hadn't seen what Kaede and Asuna looked like under those cloaks, after all.

"But, as expected of sisters? You're completely identical." Kirito looked closely at Kaede and Asuna; other than their expressions, they were indistinguishable.

"Yeah." Asuna nodded with a wry smile. Even if she said they had no relation, they probably wouldn't believe it.

"Right, these are my teammates." Kirito only then remembered to introduce his teammates.

"Tetsuo, Ducker, Sasamaru, and Sachi."

"I'm Asuna." Asuna said, then pointed to Kaede, who was hugging her arm and unwilling to let go, and said, "This is my younger sister, Kaede."

"Hello." Asuna was still quite polite.

"Hello." Sachi's tone was a bit dejected, while the others scratched their heads and greeted them. Truth be told, they really hadn't expected Kirito's friends to be two beautiful girls, the kind that could topple cities.

Now, it caused them all to be a bit reserved; no one wanted to lose face in front of these two beauties.

"Um, I'd like to ask for your opinion." Asuna didn't care about politeness at this moment.

"Yeah." Nodding, Kirito looked at his reserved teammates and sighed helplessly. "I should have known better than to let you take off your cloaks. Let's talk while we walk."

"Okay!"

"Yosh! I'll lead the way." Finally finding an opportunity, the thief Ducker jumped out and said, his eyes occasionally stealing glances at Asuna and Kaede , an unnatural blush flashing across his face, before he went ahead to lead the way.

However, Sachi seemed not to have heard and was standing there in a daze.

"It's okay." Kirito walked over, held Sachi's hand, and said gently.

"Yeah." Sachi forced a smile and then chased after them.

Kirito watched Sachi, knowing she still couldn't let go, but Kirito didn't know what to say, and could only decide to use his actions to prove himself.

...

"My opinion? Of course, join. I've heard of Heathcliff's guild; it really is a guild with a very good reputation." After hearing Asuna's question, Kirito said, "After all, in this game, it's really too difficult for solo players. You two are fine. If you're alone, once you're paralyzed, the probability of death is expanded indefinitely."

"And listening to what Kaede said, Heathcliff's strength should also be very strong. Joining it is definitely a good choice. Even if it's not for clearing the game, joining is not bad; at least you have a place to settle down. So I really can't think of any reason for you not to join." As Kirito said this, he couldn't help but think of the Moonlit Black Cats; perhaps they would also join when they reached a higher level.

"Yeah, is that so?" Asuna seemed to breathe a sigh of relief in her heart.

"Then little Kaede..." Asuna still remembered that Kaede didn't want to join the Knights of the Blood Oath.

"Wherever Sister goes, I go." Kaede rubbed against Asuna's arm. She hadn't listened to much of what Kirito said; it was fine to leave everything for Asuna to decide. She just wanted to follow Asuna, anywhere was fine. This sentence wasn't acting; it was Kaede's true thoughts.

"Yeah." Asuna stroked Kaede's hair, feeling the soft sensation of her constantly rubbing against her hand, and couldn't help but smile gently.

"As expected, she's just a child, isn't she?" Kirito also smiled, squinting his eyes.

Afterwards, their group arrived at their destination, the Labyrinth Area.

However, Kaede and Asuna only attacked once, because one slash killed the enemy instantly. Then Kaede returned to Asuna's side with a lack of interest, while Asuna looked at Kirito a bit strangely. With Kirito's strength, he definitely wouldn't come to a place like this just to level up.

However, thinking of the rumors about Kirito, she ultimately didn't say it out loud.

Along the way, the group easily arrived at what seemed to be the end, but Ducker, being a thief, didn't buy it and directly spotted the existence of a hidden door.

"A hidden door?" Kirito's heart skipped a beat. Why would there be a hidden door in this small place?

Following Dakkal into the dark room, Kirito began to observe the surroundings; there was only one treasure chest placed in the room.

"Big sister, I feel like this place is a bit dangerous." At that moment, Kirito suddenly heard Kaede's words.

Then, suddenly realizing a possibility, he spun around to look at Dakkal, who was about to open the chest.

"Don't!!"

But it was too late; beside Dakkal was an empty chest that had already been opened.

"Empty?"

Instantly, red light began to flash in the secret room, and usually, this color signaled danger.

"Bang!"

That was the sound of the door closing automatically.

"Big sister..." At this moment, Kaede let go of Asuna's arm, placed her hand on the hilt of her sword, and subtly positioned herself in front of Asuna.

"Everyone, use your crystals quickly!!" Kirito roared.

But to the despair of the Moonlit Black Cats, the crystals could not be used here.

"That person, step back, something is coming," Kaede said to Dakkal at this moment.

"Uh, okay!"

Kirito was stunned for a moment upon hearing Kaede's voice, then finally broke into a smile. Asuna, standing beside Kaede, also showed a relieved smile.

As for Kaede, although she still didn't quite understand, she knew she should have issued a warning.

Watching the monsters continuously pouring out from the secret door, Kirito took a deep breath and said, "Kaede, Asuna, I'm counting on you."

"It's only right. Little Kaede, protect them well," Asuna said.

"Eh?" Kaede paused, then nodded, "Okay!"

Asuna, Kaede, and Kirito formed a triangle, protecting the members of the Moonlit Black Cats inside.

"I'm sorry everyone, I hid my level. Actually, I am already level 46, so please stay inside and absolutely do not come out!" For their safety, Kirito could no longer afford to hide his level.

"This!" Except for Sachi, the members of the Moonlit Black Cats widened their eyes. "Level 46!"

"I know, Kirito," Sachi said, staring at Kirito with gentle eyes.

"..." Kirito was stunned for a moment. "Absolutely, I absolutely won't let anything happen to you!"

Seeing Kirito's expression, Kaede tilted her head, a bit confused, but the next moment, her nerves tightened.

"They're here."

Just as Kaede's words fell, the monsters opposite them swarmed forward.

"Kill!!"
