"Father!"
Akame probably never expected that, just as they arrived, they would witness this scene: countless insects burrowing out of her 'father's' body.
Kaede and Kurome only had shock flash through their eyes. They were a bit surprised that their new coach had died just like that; what remained was only gravity toward the enemy.
The injuries on Gozuki's body were already shocking enough, and combined with the current injuries from the inside out, it was impossible for him to survive, not even for a short while.
Gritting her teeth, Akame's eyes were wide open, her crimson pupils flickering and flashing, her muscles tensing, as if she were about to rush toward Mera at any moment.
At this moment, Kaede grabbed Akame's arm.
"Sister?" Confusion appeared in Akame's eyes.
"She should have been cut by Murasame; she's practically a dead person already," Kaede said, and then they saw countless insects beginning to swarm around Mera's right arm.
"What?" Kaede suddenly had a bad premonition.
"Ughhhhhh!" Mera screamed there, and then as the insects dispersed, the three sisters only saw that empty space, the place where that arm should have been.
"Did she swallow her arm to stop the spread of the curse..." Kaede gritted her teeth, not expecting Mera to be so decisive. But then again, it was just an arm; it couldn't be compared to life.
But what surprised Kaede didn't stop there; a cocoon slowly formed around Mera, enclosing her entire figure.
"What is this?" Akame and Kurome both widened their eyes.
"..." Kaede didn't hesitate anymore and rushed forward, slashing at the cocoon, but she didn't leave a single mark on it.
"So hard," Kaede muttered, and then she saw the cocoon begin to crack, revealing that graceful figure.
What was shocking was that the arm that should have been severed had recovered once again, and Mera's appearance had also changed drastically.
First, a pair of insect wings had grown on her back, with only a little clothing covering her modesty. Blackness began to spread from her hands and feet, extending up to her joints and forming strange patterns.
On her head, there were actually two insect antennae, and her eyebrows had formed two horn-like structures pointing upwards.
It had to be said that Mera, having transformed like this, had her allure raised to another level, especially for those with certain perverse tastes; it might even be a fatal temptation.
"It seems they have failed," Mera looked at Kaede, Akame, and Kurome and said, her voice a bit low.
"It must be that Taeko didn't follow the plan." Mera absolutely believed in the combat power of the few people under her; if they had followed the plan, it definitely wouldn't have ended like this.
Then, there was only one possibility. Her two maids absolutely obeyed her orders, and while Daniel had a tendency to be blinded by revenge, it was precisely because he was old that he could control himself.
Then, that left only Taeko. She had originally wanted to let her recover properly, but she didn't expect it to evolve to this point.
Mera looked at her own body, cold light flashing in her eyes.
"It's a pity; in this form, I can't continue to control the insects. It looks like I'll have to do it myself," Mera twitched her mouth. "You will all be buried with my lovely maids!!"
After speaking, the wings behind Mera flapped, and she rushed directly toward Kaede, at a frightening speed.
As she approached Kaede, Mera's arms began to change rapidly, eventually turning into mantis arms, which were those mantis blades.
"Bang!!"
However, it was a pity that when it came to speed, that was Kaede's absolute strength. To this day, Kaede had never encountered anyone faster than herself, even Mera was no exception.
"Heh!!"
The legs stepping on the ground suddenly exerted force, and her figure began to flicker.
Suddenly, the figures of Mera and Kaede were constantly leaping, appearing here one moment and suddenly appearing there the next.
Akame and Kurome were a bit dazzled just watching, let alone trying to help.
This was the first time Kaede had encountered such an opponent, and the first time she had fought so thoroughly. Mera was actually able to keep up with her speed, and their close combat levels were about the same.
It was unlike Esdeath; when Kaede fought her, to put it nicely, it was a battle, but to put it bluntly, it was just asking for a beating. Kaede, without using anything, was simply no match for Esdeath.
However, at this moment, two existences whose close combat was an absolute weakness compared to other aspects had met.
As if by fate, their close combat levels were actually quite similar, and Mera, after her insect transformation, was not inferior to Kaede in terms of physical ability.
Therefore, this battle was fought longer and was more intense than imagined.
However, no matter how intense it was, if neither side wanted to run away, there would definitely be a result.
I don't know how many clashes Mera and Kaede had, but the next moment, cracks appeared on the blade of Kaede's sword.
This result surprised Kaede a little. Although her sword was not comparable to shingu, and even less so to Teigu, it could definitely be called an excellent weapon. Its material was definitely not inferior to those Teigu weapons, but even so, it couldn't withstand such high-intensity collisions and was about to break.
"It seems your weapon is not a Teigu~" Mera, of course, noticed this and smiled. The moment Kaede's sword broke would be the moment of her victory.
"Is that so..." Kaede's eyes were still calm. She smoothed her hair with her left hand and then looked at Mera, "Then, let's try it out."
"Blood Demons Wrath!!" The skill that had always been discarded by Kaede finally appeared at this moment. At this time, it was as if Kaede's body was surrounded by a layer of blood-red color, and her originally crimson pupils became like fresh blood, as if blood could drip from them at any moment.
"This is!!" Mera's eyes narrowed. From this state of Kaede's, she felt a dangerous aura and immediately retreated.
"Tsk!!" A sneer appeared on the corner of Kaede's mouth. The sword in her hand dropped to the ground, and then she reached out and caught a sword with runes on the hilt: One-Cut Killer: Murasame!
When she was smoothing her hair, Kaede had already given Akame and Kurome a hint. Who could have imagined the tacit understanding between them?
"..." Mera also noticed the sword in Kaede's hand, and a desire to retreat couldn't help but rise in her heart. She flapped the wings on her back, wanting to escape from the sky. No matter how strong they were, they couldn't defend against the sky, right!
"It's come to this point, how could I let you escape!!" A sneer appeared on the corner of Kaede's mouth. The next moment, her figure moved. At this moment, her speed ejected like a cannonball, actually creating ripples in space.
The next moment, Kaede's figure appeared in front of Mera.
"How is this possible!!" Mera widened her eyes, wanting to use her hands to block Kaede's sword, but the next moment she didn't see Kaede's movements in front of her.
"Ugh!!" The next moment, Mera only felt a pain in her back. Her wings could no longer flap, and she fell straight down, seeing the Kaede that was slowly disappearing before her eyes and the Kaede standing on the ground...
Mera knew that her back had been hit head-on by a strike from Murasame. What should she do this time? Let the insects eat her? Not to mention that she couldn't control the insects now, could she even let the insects eat her main body?
The result was certain.
"I've come to an end too~" Mera closed her eyes, letting the incantations on her back spread. "It's a pity, Esdeath, I didn't lead you onto the right path in the end..."
