This time, the serum's dosage and concentration reached a dangerous critical point. The injection process felt like pouring molten lava into his veins. Blonski's screams even penetrated the soundproof laboratory, turning the technicians outside pale. His body convulsed and twisted violently on the experimental table, the cracking sound of his deforming bones setting teeth on edge. His skin turned gray, rough, and covered in irregular, thickened keratin and eerie biological ridges at a speed visible to the naked eye. His muscles expanded crazily, tearing through his sterile suit, his physique ballooning into something inhuman.
"Stop! Stop immediately! Vital signs are on the verge of collapse!" the chief scientist shouted in terror.
But it was too late. The power of the serum, like a wild horse off its leash, went completely berserk within Blonski's body. He sat up abruptly from the experimental table—no, he "sprung" up! His height, originally nearly 1.9 meters, now surged to nearly 2.5 meters! His entire body was covered in a rough, grayish-yellow hide, like a mixture of rock and bone plates. His spine protruded to form hideous bone spurs, his head deformed, his jaw jutted out, revealing stark white fangs. His eyes held only a violent, chaotic, yellow-green light. The last shred of sanity belonging to "Emil Blonski" was swallowed by boundless rage, a hunger for power, and an extreme jealousy and hatred for that green figure.
He was no longer Captain Blonski.
He was the "Abomination."
"ROAR!!!"
An inhuman roar erupted from his deformed throat, the sound waves shattering the laboratory's reinforced glass! The Abomination casually grabbed a heavy alloy stand used to secure instruments, twisted it into a pretzel as if it were straw, and then smashed it hard against the observation window!
"Boom!"
The observation window, capable of withstanding Rocket fire, vibrated violently, developing spiderweb-like cracks. Inside, General Ross and the scientists retreated in terror.
The Abomination turned his hideous head, his yellow-green eyes locking onto the tiny figures behind the observation window, especially General Ross. Chaotic fragments of memory welled up—orders, experiments, pain, and... the shadow of that green monster, more "perfect" than him.
"Power... mine... stronger..." he hissed, his speech slurred but filled with a desire to destroy everything. He no longer remembered any mission or any General Ross; he only wanted to destroy, only wanted to prove that he was the "strongest," and only wanted to find that green guy and tear him to shreds!
He took heavy steps, each one making the ground tremble, as he walked toward the laboratory's thick alloy sealed door. That door, which could withstand tank shells, was like paper in the face of his immense strength, which had fused with some of the Hulk's biological traits. He growled, using his shoulders, his fists, and brute force to crazily slam and tear at it!
The alarm sounded throughout the entire underground facility. The guard units assembled in a rush, but their bullets hitting the Abomination were like an itch, leaving at most a few white Marks. They dared not use Rockets in the enclosed space.
"Stop him! At all costs!" General Ross roared in the security control room, his face pale. He finally realized that he had released something even more terrifying than the Hulk—the Hulk at least still retained some of Banner's humanity and pain, while the monster before him was left with only pure malice and a desire for destruction.
The Abomination smashed through the final obstacle, rushing out of the core laboratory area and into the wider sections of the facility. Wherever he went, there was chaos. Blast doors were knocked flying, walls were smashed through, and panicked researchers and soldiers were casually swatted into pulp. He enjoyed the pleasure brought by this destruction, enjoying the fear of those tiny creatures.
He needed more destruction, needed to vent this infinite power, needed... to find that green guy!
And all this chaos, the data anomalies, and the extraordinary gamma radiation and bio-energy readings erupting deep within the underground facility, despite the Military's desperate attempts to shield them, were still captured by certain "eyes" perched at the top of the information network.
Seaside cottage, underground workshop. Minerva's optical sensors suddenly locked onto a fragment of abnormal signal transmitted back by the "ghost sniffers" she had just deployed on the Military's peripheral data link. The signal was extremely chaotic, but the core characteristics were clear—a high-intensity gamma radiation burst, accompanied by abnormal bio-energy characteristics, similar to the Hulk's data, but... muddier, more malicious, and the point of origin was located in a known deep Military bunker in Nevada.
"Artoria," Minerva's voice carried a rare solemnity, "Detected an unknown high-threat bio-energy burst, coordinates Nevada, characteristics partially match the Hulk, but the energy readings are more violent and unstable, accompanied by signs of large-scale physical destruction. The source is not Bruce Banner. Suspected... birth of a new biochemical mutant, and it is in a completely out-of-control state. General Ross's 'Hammer' project may have created an unplanned monster."
Artoria was flipping through an ancient book; hearing this, she looked up, her brow furrowed. The Abomination... has it appeared after all? And it seems that because of her intervention (helping Banner escape), it caused General Ross and Blonski to be more impatient and reckless. The birth process of this "Abomination" might be more rushed and unstable than in the original plot, and therefore perhaps... more dangerous.
"Can you track Dr. Banner's current location? This new monster, its target is likely the Hulk." Artoria put down the book.
"Dr. Banner's last reliable trace disappeared in the southern Appalachian Mountains, the signal is weak, and he is in a state of deep concealment. But given the destructive power exhibited by this new mutant and its possible tracking instinct (if it inherited Blonski's obsession with the Hulk), finding Dr. Banner is only a matter of time," Minerva analyzed quickly. "Furthermore, the destruction at the site of the outbreak is expanding; signals already indicate that the Military facility is losing control of the situation. The monster may soon enter the public eye."
Artoria walked to the console, looking at the flashing red dot in Nevada marked by Minerva, as well as the large yellow shadow representing the area where Banner might be hiding. A disaster was brewing, and the source of this disaster came precisely from those who tried to "control" disasters.
"Monitor the situation, Minerva. Focus on the movements of this new monster—let's call it 'Abomination.' If it really rushes out of the Military Base and heads toward a densely populated area or toward Dr. Banner..." Artoria's eyes became sharp, "We might need to do something in advance. We cannot let it and the Hulk fight in a downtown area; that would be a disaster for thousands of people."
"Understood. Have upgraded the monitoring level of the relevant area and have begun simulating multiple intervention and evacuation plans." Minerva replied. At the same time, deep in her core, new protocols regarding "high-threat mutant creature 'Abomination'," "potential city-level disaster," and "prioritize the protection of Artoria and civilians" were quickly generated and loaded.
Meanwhile, in Manhattan, New York, at the top floor of Stark Tower.
"Sir, intercepted abnormal encrypted communication fragments from the Nevada desert, as well as an emergency dispatch order from a high-risk project at the Pentagon." Jarvis's voice sounded calmly. "Cross-analysis shows it is highly relevant to the 'Hulk' pursuit project previously led by General Ross, but an unplanned variable has appeared. Satellite imagery shows severe internal damage at a Military facility in that area, with signs of unknown large biological activity."
Tony Stark looked up from a pile of improvement blueprints for the Mark 3 armor and rubbed his temples. "General Ross, that old stubborn fool, what kind of trouble is he causing now? Pull up the footage, let me see as much as I can."
Blurry, processed satellite thermal imaging and low-resolution footage appeared on the screen in front of him. One could see a roughly humanoid, yet extremely massive and hideous heat source, rampaging inside the facility, causing a large number of heat signals (likely burning equipment or vehicles) and structural damage. Although the details were unclear, the inhuman size and destructive power made Tony frown tightly.
"Another big guy? Is General Ross trying to open a monster exhibition?" Tony muttered, but his eyes turned serious. He zoomed in on the footage, watching the monster smash through layer after layer of defense. "Jarvis, record this new target's movement patterns, strength performance, and destruction methods. Add it to the 'Veronica' project's hostile behavior database. Also, analyze its energy characteristics and see if there are any similarities with that green big guy in New York, and also... that'special fluctuation' in Long Island."
"Analyzing... The new target's energy characteristics have about a 30% spectral overlap with the Hulk, but it is more chaotic, sharp, and full of aggression. There is no direct similarity with the Long Island'special fluctuation.' The target's behavioral pattern shows extreme rage, lack of sanity, and a very strong desire for destruction."
Tony leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping unconsciously on the desk. That time the Hulk went berserk in New York, it was finally calmed by a mystery. This time, another one that looks even more troublesome has popped up in Nevada. This World is becoming increasingly restless. And his steel armor, while sufficient to deal with most threats, when facing this kind of monster that crushes with pure strength and size, especially if there is more than one of them...
His gaze turned again to the conceptual sketches on the table regarding large-scale, heavy-armed, modular support platforms. The initial concept of "Veronica" seemingly must be accelerated. Not to provoke, but to have the ability to minimize losses when those monsters tear the city apart, to have the ability... to protect the people who need protecting.
He glanced at the hideous heat source on the screen that was destroying everything crazily, and then thought of that warm and tranquil "magic" girl on the streets of New York. Light and darkness, creation and destruction, protection and loss of control... This World is heading toward an unprecedented crossroads.
"Keep watching, Jarvis. Also, help me connect to Rhodes; I need to ask those old guys at the Pentagon what kind of new breed of 'watchdog' they have been hiding from us in the desert."
The chaos in the underground Base continued, and the roar of the Abomination echoed underground. And on the surface, the threads of fate for those who knew or did not yet know about this disaster had already begun to intertwine quietly because of this twisted creation, pointing toward an unknown and turbulent future.
