Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 — The Invitation

New Delhi.

Inside the Prime Minister's office, the atmosphere was quiet and formal.

The Prime Minister was reviewing a stack of documents when his personal assistant entered the room quickly.

"Sir."

The Prime Minister looked up.

"Yes?"

The assistant spoke carefully.

"There is a call for you."

The Prime Minister frowned slightly.

"At this hour?"

The assistant nodded.

"Yes, sir."

"It's… Albert."

The Prime Minister's expression changed immediately.

"Albert?"

The assistant nodded again.

"He says he would like to discuss something about the Red Fort."

The Prime Minister leaned back in his chair.

"That's interesting."

He looked toward the window for a moment.

"Tell me…"

"What exactly does he want?"

The assistant answered carefully.

"He did not say much."

"He only asked for a meeting."

The Prime Minister sighed.

"Unfortunately for him…"

"I've already been negotiating with another international company to manage part of the Red Fort restoration project."

He shook his head.

"I am not the owner of that site."

"But…"

He paused.

"…Albert rarely asks for things without a reason."

The Prime Minister looked back at the assistant.

"Tell him this."

"I will meet him."

The assistant nodded.

"When should I schedule it?"

The Prime Minister thought for a moment.

"Tomorrow."

"Lunch."

"12:00 p.m."

The assistant smiled slightly.

"I'll inform him."

He stepped out of the office and made the call.

"Mr. Albert?"

"Yes?"

"The Prime Minister will meet you tomorrow."

"12:00 p.m."

Albert answered calmly.

"That will be perfect."

Later that night—

the Prime Minister sat in his office again, holding another phone.

This time the call connected to Washington.

The President of the United States answered.

"Good evening."

The Prime Minister spoke quietly.

"I believe our mutual acquaintance has arrived in India."

The President sighed.

"Albert."

"Yes."

There was a brief pause.

The two leaders spoke for several minutes.

Their conversation was calm.

Serious.

Strategic.

But whatever they discussed…

remained completely private.

The next day—

Albert arrived at the Prime Minister's residence.

Security was tight.

Guards lined the entrance as Albert walked calmly inside.

The Prime Minister was waiting in the dining room.

The two men looked at each other for a moment.

Then they both smiled slightly.

The Prime Minister stepped forward.

Albert did the same.

And as their hands met—

the Prime Minister asked quietly.

"So…"

"What exactly are you planning to do with the Red Fort?"
