Neo was betrayed and left to die in the most important mission of his life. 

When he opened his eyes again, it was ten years later and the world had moved on without him. He, who was once the strongest hunter on Mars, suddenly became a civilian without any of his abilities.

Neo has to build himself up from scratch but his sync partners—the people who are supposed to be his soulmates—are set on holding him back and controlling him.

In addition, Mars has become something else and is no longer the home he dearly remembers. Neo’s return stirs up forces that are greater than anything imaginable as he takes it upon himself to rectify things.

His righteous actions gain him more enemies than friends. And somehow, his soulmates seem to be among those enemies.

“Don’t you want your abilities back?” Armin asked.

It was a trick question.

“I never lost them.”

The doctor had only said they were dormant. He never say they were gone forever.

“But you can’t summon your needle.” Bryce whispered against his neck.

The hairs on that spot stood up. Neo was now certain that Bryce was baiting him. He used his elbow to shove Bryce away but the guy didn’t even budge an inch.

In fact, Neo felt a painful recoil like he had just struck a hard metal. He bit down on his lower lip to prevent himself from groaning.

He couldn’t push either of them away. He realized this with slight dread. 

“I will not be marked.” Neo was relentless.

He turned his neck to look at Bryce. “Step back.”

The threat in his tone was clear. “Or I’ll make you step back.”

"Is it wrong for me to crave your warmth and stick to you? Why are you so stingy with every form of romance in your life?" Raze turned the table on Neo, staring at him with accusation in his eyes.


"What does that have to do with anything?" Neo frowned.


"It has everything to do with it. What's the wrong in letting me lie beside you?" Raze scooted closer to Neo as if to provoke him.


His violent eyes shone with daring arrogance. He wanted Neo to hit him with a reason. Alas, Neo did not provide one after the next few seconds.


He only sighed and turned to face the ceiling before he said, "Whatever. Do what you want."


A triumphant sound escaped from Raze's mouth. Though Neo couldn't see it, a victorious smirk was hung on his lips.


"You can get on with it." Neo said with a bit of impatience in his tone.
