Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 Dragon Porcelain and Shark Fin

Three wild Dragons were still incredibly important to the Targaryen Family, who already possessed numerous adult Dragons, so protecting them was the most crucial task for the royal family moving forward.

However, they were wild Dragons, not hatched at Dragonstone, so they hadn't received care and training from the Dragon Guard since they were young. It was very difficult to bring them into Dragonstone for protection.

The three Dragons, targeted by Glutton, were constantly in danger. Furthermore, while Dreamfire was powerful, it was still outmatched when facing Glutton.

Therefore, King Jaehaerys decisively ordered Daemon, who was riding Bloodworm Caraxes, to stay behind.

And to cut off Daemon's thoughts of Daenerys, Daenerys was directly made Viserys's daughter.

With Caraxes, a fierce Dragon, even if Glutton attacked the Dragons again or sought revenge on Dreamfire, the two Dragons could handle it together.

Moreover, with Daemon and Daenerys present, relying on their excellent Targaryen bloodline, it was very likely that the three Dragons could be led into Dragonstone and thus be protected.

Furthermore, Jaehaerys had suffered successive losses of his children, and he felt his body was becoming increasingly frail. The struggle for the throne was about to begin, and placing the impulsive and restless Daemon far from King's Landing was good for everyone.

Having understood the cause and effect of the matter, the people of the Targaryen Family were naturally happy. The family had gained three more Dragons, and Daenerys's demonstrated Dragon-riding talent greatly pleased the elders.

However, it was different for the other great noble families; Daenerys saw their subtle apprehension in the eyes of those great nobles.

After all, the more Dragons the Targaryen Family had, the less they dared to easily provoke the royal family. Moreover, King Jaehaerys was already old, and who knew what the next king would be like?

If another Aegon or Maegor appeared, the nobles of the Seven Kingdoms would suffer, so inner apprehension was quite normal.

Nevertheless, on the surface, they still offered various congratulations and praises to His Majesty the King with fawning expressions.

The exaggerated wording and artificial demeanor made Daenerys feel as if the milk in her cup had turned sour.

Soon after, the kitchen served exquisite food. Due to the Dragon battle, today's breakfast and lunch were combined into a brunch.

What the various great nobles found most satisfying at Dragonstone these days was the delicious food here; many dishes they had never even heard of, let alone tasted, before. So everyone eagerly anticipated the two main meals each day.

Today's lunch was naturally no exception; in addition to some traditional Seven Kingdoms delicacies, the chefs also presented some new dishes that Daenerys had asked them to develop.

With the food culture of later generations of China, it was simply too easy to handle these bumpkins from another world.

Of course, Daenerys didn't just let them taste these delicacies to show off. She had already discussed with Samwell to first win over these great nobles with delicious food and fine wine.

Then, she would discuss with them co-establishing "Fire Kiss Garden" branches in their territories, integrating food, wine, accommodation, and a cultural park.

The cost of land and construction would be borne by the great nobles, while Samwell would be responsible for arranging personnel for operations, with profits split 30/70, Samwell taking seventy percent.

But of course, this couldn't be hidden from these shrewd great nobles, yet no one would openly discuss their clandestine dealings, unless they wanted to endure Daenerys's Dragon's wrath.

Currently, many great nobles in the Westerlands, Riverlands, and Vale have already reached cooperation intentions with Samwell. They are just waiting for the apprentices trained in Goat Town to graduate before officially opening for business.

Daenerys didn't expect "Fire Kiss Garden" to bring her much profit; her more important goal was to use it to gather intelligence and recruit talents.

After all, there were many impoverished noble second sons and talented commoners in the Seven Kingdoms; bringing them together would also be a very powerful force.

The most outstanding dishes in today's meal were several made from shark meat. After all, even these great nobles couldn't frequently eat shark meat.

What's more, this shark was linked to the Dragon battle, so everyone naturally felt more distinguished eating it.

Especially when the shark fin soup, served in exquisite white porcelain bowls, was brought up, the delicate porcelain and the translucent, vermicelli-like sweet soup once again amazed the nobles present.

And Samwell timely stepped forward to explain,

"Respected His Majesty the King, esteemed Lords!"

"This sweet soup is shark fin, meticulously prepared from the fins of a shark. It is not only delicious but also extremely nourishing, with effects of strengthening the body, beautifying, and maintaining health!"

"The vessel holding the shark fin is called dragon porcelain, made from clay collected from the Royal Forest's great river, fired in an earthen kiln with the aid of Dragonflame from a Dragon."

"Besides this soup bowl, there are all kinds of tableware, vases, etc. If you are interested, esteemed Lords, you are welcome to visit the dragon porcelain shop in White Sheep Town to browse and purchase."

However, while Samwell was eloquently explaining to everyone, many people turned their gaze towards Daenerys. Several nobles whose children were around Daenerys's age looked at her with calculating eyes.

Jaehaerys elegantly tasted a spoonful of shark fin soup and praised it with satisfaction,

"Hmm, this shark fin is indeed delicious! And the quality of this dragon porcelain is not inferior to those expensive porcelains from Yi Land at all."

"It seems there are indeed many good things in White Sheep Town!"

Lord Corlys, the Sea Snake, was a great voyager who had experienced nine great voyages, so his insights far surpassed those of ordinary people. He couldn't help but praise,

"Indeed, it's fine porcelain! I must go see it in White Sheep Town! Porcelain of this quality would be sought after even if sold to the continent of Essos."

With the approval of these two most prominent figures in the Seven Kingdoms, the nobles immediately unleashed their flattery and silver-tongued social skills. It was as if this porcelain was the hope for the rise of the Seven Kingdoms.

And Prince Daemon suddenly spoke to Daenerys,

"It seems I can have Princess Daenerys cover my expenses during this time at Dragonstone. Tell me, how much of a private stash do you have now?!"

Daemon's words made Daenerys, who was in the middle of explaining the shark fin recipe to her mother and sister, pause, and she responded, puzzled,

"Don't all our royal Dragonriders have the same allowance? Prince Daemon is footloose and fancy-free, and he even has a wealthy noblewoman supporting him. Why are you trying to take advantage of me, a poor person who has to support White Sheep Town?"

"You are an elder now, shouldn't you be showing care to me, your junior?"

"I share whatever good things I have with everyone immediately, and I don't have any private stash. Otherwise, I wouldn't have sold all those gifts I saved from when I was little to exchange for money!"
