Peter couldn't hold in his laughter. He shook his head.
"Prior to Dr. Hugo, there were many physicians. None even knew what was wrong with her."
"Don't be rash, Peter. If I were to hire her, she would need to know Miss Fontaine's condition. We need to show her the patient either way."
Peter thought about it for a few seconds then nodded. He stepped aside, "Please come in, Miss Orchard."
"Alright then."
Carter led her to Florence's bedroom.
At the door, he turned to her, "What you're going to see might be very unnerving. I suggest you get your mind ready."
"I am."
Carter turned the doorknob and showed Amelia. Florence was sedated by Carter and slept peacefully. But still, the demonic state of her body and the ruin that was once a nice bedroom weren't difficult to understand.
Amelia gasped and covered her mouth.
"This is!"
"Now you know how difficult this job could be. Still want that 20 shillings?"
