Loreen's POV
Sairis was still focused entirely on his injury. "Good thing the royal physician was there on time to stop the bleeding," he muttered softly while checking the bandage carefully.
Then he finally looked back up at Loreen. There was real worry in his eyes. Not politeness, or duty. But actual fear.
"I was terrified when I saw that vase flying toward you," Sairis admitted quietly.
Loreen felt something tighten painfully in his chest at those words, because Sairis meant it. He had truly been scared for him.
Loreen lowered his gaze briefly before speaking. "I am sorry I frightened you," he murmured.
Sairis sighed softly. "Well," he said, "if something like that ever happens again, perhaps you could try to protect yourself?"
He looked up at Loreen properly now, frustration mixing with concern. "You simply stood there." He murmured.
