Candice's POV
Loreen was angry. Candice could see it clearly.
He was not the kind of man who shouted or threw things, which in some ways made it worse.
His anger sat very still and very contained and it came out in the flatness of his voice and the way he looked at her like she had just done something he was going to need a moment to decide how to respond to.
Greta had warned her about this. She had told Candice that Loreen was not going to make any of this easy and that the only way to handle a man like him was to not back down.
If you gave him space he would use it to put distance between you. You had to stand in that distance and refuse to move.
Candice was going to stand in it.
"Does the sight of me disgust you that much?" She muttered.
Loreen arched a brow and waved Edgar off. Candice had forgotten that he was still in the office. Edgar quickly shuffled out of the office and shut the door.
