Chapter 58 - Has This World Gone Mad?

"Is... is this the Black Rock Tribe?"

When the people of the Six Great Tribes appeared outside the gates of the Black Rock Tribe, travel-worn and weary,

at the sight of the majestic walls, ten meters high and built from giant stones and fire-resistant bricks, shock was plain in everyone's eyes.

Suina, the leader of the Chuishi Tribe, rubbed her eyes.

In her past memory, the Black Rock Tribe was merely a large-scale primitive Tribe.

But what was this before her?

The walls were smooth and solid, with a protruding watchtower at regular intervals.

Those Female Warriors, armed with powerful bows and crossbows, were patrolling in an orderly fashion, exuding a chilling, martial aura.

The tall, heavy city gates were constructed from hard timber reinforced with iron plates; the hinges were thick, looking utterly indestructible.

This... how could this still be a Tribe?

This was clearly an impregnable fortress!

"Unbelievable... when did the Black Rock Tribe become like this!"

Suina couldn't help but reach out to touch the wall, her eyes filled with unconcealed envy.

"Wu Liang, look, those people are the leaders of the other Six Great Tribes."

Wei Xian and Eliza also arrived on the wall. Wei Xian stroked her protruding belly and pointed down below the wall.

Wu Liang looked in the direction she pointed, sizing up the six Female Leaders while listening to Wei Xian's introduction.

The leader of the Muge Tribe, Lolia.

She was a petite woman with a cute loli face, standing no more than 1.55 meters tall, yet possessing an exceptionally curvaceous figure.

At this moment, she was cradling a small lamb in her arms, her watery eyes looking quite pitiable.

The leader of the Chuishi Tribe, Suina.

Tall with a bombshell figure, she was a mature woman radiating power.

Gripping a massive stone hammer, she was touching the wall, studying it.

The leader of the Yuequan Tribe, Alesha.

This woman had the fairest skin and a gentle temperament; she was an intellectual woman as soft as water.

The leader of the Zhu Feng Tribe, Sa Lan.

With healthy wheat-colored skin and an athletic build, her proportions were perfectly balanced, and her long, straight legs were full of power.

The leader of the Ember Tribe, Ignis.

She was a tall, red-haired woman with a heroic and spirited appearance, her gaze sharp and valiant.

The leader of the Salt Marsh Tribe, Florgloria.

She appeared to be the oldest and most mature, with a plump figure and hips wider than her shoulders; her bountiful bosom gave off a reliable, motherly vibe.

"Open the gates. Making guests wait isn't proper hospitality."

Wu Liang withdrew his gaze and told Eliza beside him to go welcome them... *Gulp.*

Lolia of the Muge Tribe stood at the gate, swallowing hard as she looked at the massive gateway, hugging her lamb tightly.

She felt like a country bumpkin entering a city for the first time.

The sense of security this wall provided was something her Tribe's camp, enclosed by wood and fences, could never match.

If they could live in a fortress like this, would they no longer have to fear the roland people when they came?

Once this thought arose, it began to grow wildly in her heart.

"What their warriors are wearing and holding... it looks like ironware. The kind the roland people use!"

Florgloria, the leader of the Salt Marsh Tribe, suddenly spoke, her voice carrying a mature charm.

She pointed at the soldiers patrolling back and forth on the wall.

"Look at their equipment and their aura."

"No wonder Akomann of the Bloodfang Tribe was defeated by the Black Rock Tribe. They truly look powerful."

Hearing this, everyone looked up at the wall.

They saw the Female Warriors, all dressed in uniform black military outfits, full of spirit and exuding a chilling, formidable aura.

"Truly remarkable warriors. If our Ember Tribe had warriors like these, how could we have been defeated by the roland people?"

Ignis of the Ember Tribe clenched her fists, her voice filled with resentment.

*Creeeeak...* Just then, the heavy city gates slowly swung open.

Three hundred fully armed Female Warriors from the Spear and Shield Battalion marched out from the gate in perfect unison.

"Hah!"

The three hundred Female Warriors of the Spear and Shield Battalion slammed their tower shields onto the ground, their sharp spears thrusting out from the gaps between the shields to form an airtight steel phalanx.

The spears were sharp, glinting with a cold, grim light.

The Crossbowmen atop the gate tower were also ready, their dark crossbow muzzles aimed at everyone below.

The entire atmosphere was thick with a killing intent, causing the people of the Six Great Tribes to retreat a few steps in alarm.

A faint smile played on Wu Liang's lips as he looked down at them from the gate tower.

His gaze swept over the faces of the leaders one by one.

Such a greeting should be considered grand enough.

"Don't... don't misunderstand! We've come to ask for help!"

A woman from the Six Great Tribes' group quickly ran out and shouted up at the wall.

"We are from the Chuishi Tribe! This is our leader, Lady Suina!"

"We are from the Muge Tribe! This is our leader, Lady Lolia!"

"We are from the Yuequan Tribe!"

...One by one, the Tribes hurriedly announced their names.

"Welcome to the Black Rock Tribe."

Wu Liang was the first to speak from the gate tower, his voice drawing the attention of everyone from the Six Great Tribes below.

They saw Wu Liang, and at the same time, they saw Wei Xian standing beside him.

"Let their leaders in."

Wu Liang spoke calmly.

"The others are to stand by outside the city."

With a sharp *shink*, the Spear and Shield Battalion phalanx split in an orderly fashion, opening a narrow passage.

"Leader Wei Xian, what is the meaning of this? And who is that man?"

Ignis, the red-haired leader of the Ember Tribe, questioned Wei Xian warily.

Why was this woman standing beside this man, seemingly treating him as her superior?

"Leader Ignis and the other leaders, please come inside first. Your questions will be answered soon."

Wei Xian spoke indifferently.

"Everyone, I will see you in the Council Hall."

Wu Liang waved his hand and supported Wei Xian as they turned to leave.

"Damn it... what's wrong with Wei Xian!"

Ignis clenched her fists.

"Let's go. I don't think Wei Xian will do anything to us. Don't forget why we came here."

Suina, leader of the Chuishi Tribe, was the first to walk into the city.

After exchanging glances, the other leaders entered the city with a few of their attendants.

As soon as they entered the city, their pupils contracted once more.

Everywhere they looked was a scene of even greater bustle and prosperity.

Wide, smooth flagstone roads and clean, tidy streets.

The wide flagstone roads stretched in all directions, lined with rows of completed and under-construction brick houses.

Some were already whitewashed and fitted with transparent glass windows.

All the Black Rock tribespeople were coming and going, all busy at their respective posts.

In the distance, thick smoke billowed from a massive Workshop District, accompanied by the clanging sounds of metalwork.

"Leaders, you have traveled far. It must have been a long journey."

A cool female voice rang out.

A woman with a seductive figure and an exquisite face, dressed in a long blue silk dress, walked toward them gracefully.

"Eliza?"

Suina looked the newcomer up and down, calling out somewhat uncertainly.

"Your Black Rock Tribe... what on earth is going on?"

Eliza smiled slightly.

"It's a long story. Let's talk in the Council Hall. Lord Wu Liang and Leader Wei Xian are already waiting for you."

Wu Liang?

Hearing this unfamiliar name, the leaders were all taken aback.

Was it that man on the gate tower just now?

Ignis, who usually looked down on men the most, immediately frowned upon hearing this:

"Who exactly is this Wu Liang? We came to see your Leader Wei Xian!"

"Have you all lost your minds? Since when does a man call the shots in the Black Rock Tribe?"

Eliza's smile faded, her tone neither humble nor arrogant.

"Leader Ignis, please mind your words."

"Lord Wu Liang is my man, and he is also our Leader's man. He is the most honorable person in our entire Black Rock Tribe."

"I will not allow anyone to disrespect him! Ignis, this is your first and only friendly warning!"

Her tone was firm and proud, carrying a hint of a threat.

"What?"

Had that man bewitched both the Leader and the High Priestess of the Black Rock Tribe?

Eliza's words left the six Female Leaders dumbfounded, unable to believe their ears.

Has this world gone mad?
