Chapter 65 - Reinforcements Arrive

"Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!"

The heavy, rhythmic sound of galloping hooves rapidly approached.

The ground was shaking!

The charred branches in the Withered Wood Forest trembled uncontrollably!

The Roland Centurion looked toward the sound in horror, his pupils shrinking violently.

A torrent hidden in the night appeared in their field of vision!

They were all female riders, wearing uniforms he had never seen before; this was definitely not an army of the roland people.

"Cavalry! It's enemy cavalry!"

"Prepare to meet the enemy! Shield-bearers! Get up there!"

The Roland Centurion snapped out of it, roaring and bellowing at the top of his lungs.

He couldn't understand where these Great Desolate Mountain Tribes got cavalry from.

Where did these guys pop out from?!

"Black Rock Army! Charge!"

Akomann led the way, the long spear in her hand flashing with a cold light, her eyes filled with fighting spirit.

Behind her, over a hundred Black Rock Cavalry let out a heaven-shaking roar, leaning low in unison and leveling their spears at the increasingly chaotic Roland formation ahead!

"Crush them!"

"Kill!"

Over a hundred people roared in unison, the sound even drowning out the galloping hooves!

"It's Akomann! It really is the Black Rock Tribe cavalry!"

Sa Lan recognized the tall figure leading the charge at a single glance.

Ignis and the others watched this scene in stunned silence.

This was the Black Rock Tribe's cavalry?

"Loose arrows! Loose arrows!"

In the Roland formation, the Centurion hurriedly gave orders, firing scattered arrows at the charging Black Rock Cavalry.

But attacks lacking power and precision couldn't cause any fundamental damage to the Black Rock Cavalry.

In an instant, the cavalry formation slammed violently into the shield wall the roland people had hastily assembled!

"Die for me!"

Akomann, galloping in, suddenly pierced the Centurion's chest with her spear.

"Ugh..."

The Centurion looked down at the spear tip protruding from his chest, his eyes filled with disbelief.

With a flick of her wrist, Akomann tossed the corpse aside, sending it crashing to the ground!

"Kill!"

Under Akomann's leadership, the Black Rock Cavalry quickly bored through the defensive line formed by the roland people.

Screams, the clashing of weapons, and the neighing of warhorses blended together into a cacophony.

The Roland Soldiers never dreamed that these cavalrymen who suddenly appeared would be so well-equipped.

With just one charge, the roland people's so-called three-way encirclement was forcibly bored through from the center by the Black Rock Cavalry, torn into two halves!

The Cavalry Battalion didn't stop; under Akomann's lead, they circled in a massive arc, preparing for a second charge.

Wu Liang's figure appeared on a nearby hillside.

He sat at the center of command, like a cold chess player overlooking the entire board.

His gaze swept over the battlefield, finally landing on the six women in the Withered Wood Forest.

Seeing that although they were in a sorry state, they were all still alive, Wu Liang finally let out a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, they made it in time.

If even one or two of these precious treasures had fallen here, he would be heartbroken.

Ignis also noticed Wu Liang's gaze in the distance, and she subconsciously straightened her back.

"That annoying guy actually came in person."

The other five women also looked toward Wu Liang, their expressions complex and varied.

"All units! Advance! Protect them first!"

Wu Liang's voice rang out, and the Bow and Crossbow Battalion on the hillside began to move forward.

From the other side of the hill came the sound of synchronized footsteps and the clanking of metal.

"Spear and Shield Battalion! Advance!"

Kayla's powerful voice rang out.

A phalanx composed of hundreds of Female Warriors appeared on the battlefield, marching with heavy and steady steps.

Holding man-sized tower shields in their left hands and spears in their right, they formed a mobile wall of steel, pressing toward the already scattered Roland Soldiers with unhurried resolve.

Arrows from the Bow and Crossbow Battalion continued to pour down from the hillside, precisely harvesting the enemies who were trying to regroup.

The Cavalry Battalion watched from the flanks like tigers eyeing their prey, ready to launch the next fatal charge at any moment.

The Spear and Shield Battalion advanced steadily from the front, constantly compressing the enemy's living space.

"Don't panic! Hold your ground! Hold it!"

An officer's eyes were nearly splitting as he brandished a long saber, attempting to reorganize the formation.

But his soldiers had already been scared out of their wits.

Behind them was a rain of arrows like the Reaper claiming lives.

On the flanks was an unstoppable torrent of steel.

Their morale was on the verge of total collapse.

However, just then, another rapid sound of galloping hooves came from behind.

"Reinforcements! It's our Cavalry Battalion and the Alchemical Musketeer Squad!"

The faces of the desperate Roland Soldiers immediately lit up with wild joy.

In the distance, a Roland cavalry unit of about two hundred men was rushing over, kicking up clouds of dust.

Accompanying them were dozens of soldiers holding a type of peculiar metal tube.

Wu Liang stood on the hillside, squinting at the reinforcements.

His gaze immediately fell upon those soldiers holding the metal tubes.

"Those things look like muskets."

Wu Liang murmured to himself.

"Wu Liang, their reinforcements are here!"

Akomann reined in her horse in front of Wu Liang, her tone carrying a hint of gravity.

"I see them."

Wu Liang's expression was calm.

"Cavalry, fall back! Maintain distance and harass them with bows!"

"Spear and Shield Battalion, advance slowly in defensive formation! Compress their space!"

"Bow and Crossbow Battalion, prepare to prioritize covering fire on those enemies with muskets!"

The Roland reinforcements quickly arrived at the battlefield.

The cavalry commander's face turned ashen when he saw the carnage on the battlefield.

"Damned barbarians! Alchemical Musketeer Squad, fire! Blast their shield wall to pieces!"

The dozens of soldiers holding alchemical muskets stepped forward quickly, forming a line under the cavalry's cover and pointing their black muzzles at the Black Rock Army's shield wall.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

A series of dull explosions, accompanied by large clouds of white smoke, suddenly erupted!

"Clang! Clang! Clang!"

Projectiles slammed into the tower shields, creating a dense clatter.

Even the heavy tower shields, which were iron-clad and specially reinforced, had wood splinters flying and sparks dancing when faced with the impact of these Alchemical Bullets.

Several shields were pierced, and the warriors behind them fell to the ground wounded.

"The power of these muskets is a bit greater than I imagined, but the accuracy is just too poor."

Wu Liang thought to himself.

"Wu Liang! What do we do? With those muskets there, we can't charge through at all!"

Akomann urged her horse to Wu Liang's side, her face full of anxiety.

What cavalry feared most was this kind of dense long-range fire; they could be knocked off their horses before they even got close.

"Don't worry. After that round of fire, they'll fall into the gap of reloading ammunition. I'll have the Bow and Crossbow Battalion fire a volley."

"Then you take the cavalry up for a round of harassment, take out some of the Musketeers, and quickly disengage."

"At that time, lead the Cavalry Battalion to feign defeat and act as if you're fleeing. Lure all these roland people into the canyon over at Wild Boar Ravine for me!"

Wu Liang's expression was composed.

"Bow and Crossbow Battalion, one volley!"
