Chapter 124 - Mia

"Kill—!"

The warriors charged into the dust-filled cave.

The scene inside the cave was even dirtier and more chaotic than imagined.

The air was filled with a stench of feces, rotting flesh, and blood.

The ground was slippery and muddy, covered in trash and bones.

The remaining Goblins, terrified by the previous explosion, scurried about in the narrow passages, crying and screaming.

But what awaited them were the slaughtering blades of the Black Rock Tribe warriors.

Pfft!

A warrior's bayonet cleanly pierced a Goblin's chest.

"Die, you scumbags!"

Another warrior swung his rifle butt, smashing the brains out of a pouncing Goblin.

In the narrow cave, a rifle with a bayonet instantly transformed into a spear.

These tall, strong, and well-trained human warriors faced these short, weak Goblins in a one-sided slaughter.

The battle quickly turned into a game of chase and kill.

Soon, the screams in the cave gradually subsided.

The warriors began to clear every corner of the cave, leaving no one alive.

Neither Goblin warriors, nor the female Goblins and younglings trembling in the corners.

"Leader, we found this inside!"

A warrior ran out from the depths of the cave, followed by two other warriors, supporting a filthy beastkin.

She had the physique of a human girl, but on her head were a pair of furry, slightly trembling cat ears.

Behind her was a furry tail, tightly tucked between her legs out of fear.

She wore tattered animal skins that could not hide her voluptuous figure, which was very well developed.

Her exposed skin was covered in dirt and scars, and her heterochromatic eyes were filled with terror.

Cat-Eared Girl?

Wu Liang's eyes lit up.

This was truly an unexpected gain.

He stepped forward, examining the trembling Cat-Eared Girl.

Although her face was covered in dirt, one could still discern delicate features.

"Don't be afraid, we are not bad people."

Wu Liang tried to make his voice sound gentle.

But the Cat-Eared Girl was clearly terrified. She looked at the humans around her, stained with green blood, and her body trembled even more violently.

Wu Liang frowned; it seemed there was a language barrier.

He waved his hand, signaling the warriors to release her.

Then, from his storage leather pouch, he took out a piece of clean dried meat and a waterskin of clear water, offering them to her.

The Cat-Eared Girl watched him warily, then looked at the food in his hand, hesitating to come forward.

Her stomach rumbled uncontrollably.

Wu Liang smiled, placed the dried meat and waterskin on the ground, and then stepped back a few paces, signaling that he meant no harm.

The Cat-Eared Girl stared at the food on the ground, struggling for a long time.

Finally, hunger overcame fear.

She cautiously moved over, quickly grabbed the dried meat and waterskin, then retreated to the corner and devoured them.

After clearing the Goblin nest, the troops rested briefly and tallied their spoils.

The Goblin lair, as expected, had accumulated many things.

However, most were tattered weapons and armor, and some worthless shiny stones.

Nevertheless, the warriors still found several boxes of goods belonging to human merchants in a hidden corner.

They appeared to be roland people's goods, containing some cloth, salt, and metal tools.

All attention soon focused on the Cat-Eared Girl.

Akomann had someone find her a set of clean linen clothes and had warriors fetch clear water for her to wash.

After washing away the grime, a delicate and lovely Cat-Eared Girl appeared before everyone.

She was about sixteen or seventeen years old, with healthy wheat-colored skin, and beneath her flaxen short hair were a pair of constantly twitching, adorable cat ears.

Her face was small and exquisite, her features like a doll's.

Most unique were her eyes, which were amber-colored and full of exotic charm.

A flaxen cat tail, also flaxen, was now gently wagging behind her, betraying her inner nervousness.

"Tsk tsk, she really is a little beauty."

Ignis walked around her once, not hiding her admiration.

Although Akomann didn't speak, her gaze softened considerably.

Women's compassion often flows more easily for the weak, especially for creatures that appear harmless and pitiful like this.

Wu Liang arranged a separate small tent for her and had a meticulous female Artisan under Florgloria's command look after her.

However, this Cat-Eared Girl named Mia was full of vigilance and fear towards everyone except Wu Liang.

Only when Wu Liang appeared would she relax slightly.

After all, it was this tall man who rescued her from the hellish Goblin nest and gave her food and water.

This kindness made her instinctively develop a slight dependence on Wu Liang.

Wu Liang was happy to take advantage of this.

He personally carried a bowl of hot meat porridge into Mia's tent.

Seeing Wu Liang enter, Mia immediately lifted her head from the corner.

Her heterochromatic eyes stared intently at him, and her tail unconsciously wagged.

"Hungry? Come, eat something."

Wu Liang handed the meat porridge to her.

The fragrant smell made Mia's stomach rumble again.

She cautiously took the bowl, blew on it, and then began to drink it in small sips.

Wu Liang sat opposite her, not speaking, just watching her quietly.

After she finished a bowl of porridge, her spirits improved considerably.

Only then did Wu Liang try to communicate with her.

He pointed to himself and said his name: "Wu Liang."

Then he pointed to her: "You?"

Mia tilted her head, seemingly trying to understand his meaning.

After a while, she timidly pointed to herself.

In a very clumsy common tongue with a strange accent, she whispered:

"Mi... Mia."

"Mia?"

Wu Liang repeated, a smile appearing on his face.

It would be easier to handle if they could communicate.

Over the next period, Wu Liang patiently communicated with Mia, using the simplest words and gestures, little by little.

Through Mia's fragmented descriptions, interspersed with many gestures and cat sounds, Wu Liang finally pieced together the events.

Mia was a member of a nearby Cat-ear Tribe.

A few days ago, their village was suddenly attacked by that group of Goblins.

Although the tribesmen fought valiantly, the Goblins were too numerous, and the village was eventually breached.

Most of the tribesmen were scattered in the melee, and she was unfortunately captured by the Goblins and imprisoned in that dark cave.

"Village... home... gone..."

As Mia spoke, her eyes reddened.

Tears welled up in her amber eyes.

"Don't cry."

Wu Liang reached out and wiped away her tears.

"Your tribesmen might just be hiding; we will help you find them."

Hearing Wu Liang's words, Mia suddenly looked up.

"Rea... Really?"

"Of course."

Wu Liang nodded.

"However, you need to take us to your village to have a look."

Mia's appearance was exactly what Wu Liang wanted.

He had been wondering how to find those hidden beastkin Tribes in this unfamiliar rainforest.

Now, Mia's appearance was undoubtedly a guide delivered right to his doorstep.

As long as they could find the Cat-ear Tribe's settlement, it would mean having an entry point for communication and contact in this rainforest.

"I... I'll take you!"
