The air inside the main research room was thick with the scent of old paper and dust. Professor Corvin walked around the long wooden tables, handing out thick leather logbooks to the students.
"I want every single one of you to write down exactly what you find," Professor Corvin said, his voice echoing slightly in the large room. "Record the texture, the weight, and any markings on the stones. Every detail matters."
He paused near the center of the room, turning his eyes toward Xavier and me. "Amara, Xavier, please leave your logs for a moment. I need you two to help me out with a different matter on one of the upper floors."
Kai immediately stood up from his bench, his dark eyes flashing with concern. "Professor, I can go instead. My translation skills are just as sharp, and I know how to handle delicate artifacts."
