I'd been awake since dawn, pacing my ridiculously fancy palace guest room like a caged animal.
Which, honestly? Pretty accurate description of my current mental state.
The sun was just starting to peek through the massive windows, casting this warm orange glow across the marble floors that would've been beautiful if I wasn't internally freaking out. My mind was spinning with about seventeen different catastrophic scenarios of how today could go wrong.
How were my friends going to react when I dropped the "hey, so my dad's actually a god" bomb on them? Would they believe me? Would they think nine days in a coma had scrambled my brain? Would they—
Knock knock.
"Amara, are you awake yet?" Pearl's voice called through the door.
Showtime.
I practically sprinted to the door and yanked it open. Standing in the hallway were Pearl, Des, Malachi, and Kai.
"Kaiiii!" I threw myself at him, wrapping my arms around his shoulders.
