As they arrived at the bosses area, the primordials and Drake felt their powers being suppressed.
"The laws of this world are very strong. To make me feel this weak leaves a bad taste in the mouth." Diablo said.
"We should be fine. The bosses aren't that strong."
Ten minutes later:
Drake felt he spoke to soon and Murphy heard his words because the towering bosses were at least ten times bigger than in the game.
The Rexes have been attacking for 9 minutes and barely one tenth of their heaths have been chipped away. Their attacks were heavy and the Rexes were having difficulties.
There were only 15 minutes left before the mission was deemed a failure so Drake turned to his generals and asked:
"Any good ideas?"
The girls and Diablo shook their heads and Testarossa said regrettably:
"Master, our magic and physical strength has been suppressed to the minimum. We wouldn't be any better than your shadows."
Drake wasn't bothered, he still had one more trump card, he just didn't think he would be reduced to use it so soon.
Standing in the head of a rex, Drake withdrew the almighty farming tool from his body and activated the holy spear. The spear was radiating holy magic as Drake aimed at the giant ape's heart and the spear flew like a comet and pierced the heart and came out to the other side.
The ape's health bar bottomed out and collapsed backwards. All the monkeys the ape had summoned instantly died as well.
The spear appeared again in Drake's hand as he aimed it at the giant spider's abdomen. Without any suspense, the spider was nailed to the ground and its health bar was empty out, the little spider it had summoned also died.
The primordial demons were impressed and awed at their lord, feeling useless for not being able to help when their lord needed them, but they still gave high praises:
"As expected of milord, just one attack each." Carrera said proudly.
"Even I would have to be careful with that attack kufufufu." Diablo said laughing creepily.
"To witness my liege's power is an honor." Ultima said with a smile.
"The lord's long spear is mighty." Testarossa said seductively making Drake's eyebrows twitch at her words.
"Milord, what's that weapon you used?" Carrera said as she eyed the spear in Drake was holding.
"Just a farming tool." Drake said modestly making the demons speechless.
They thought in unison, 'a farming tool? Yeah right! I don't believe it'
Seeing their faces Drake just turned the spear into a hoe and said:
"See, it's just a simple hoe."
The primordial demons' eyebrows twitched but remained silent.
Drake ignored them and smile when he saw the shadows oozing from the bosses' corpses. He walked up to them and said in a deep voice:
"Arise"
Two massive shadows radiating an intimidating aura stood up. They looked at Drake and bowed their head sending thoughts to Drake to grant them names. The shadows were of commander grade as their information was feedback to Drake.
The giant ape could use earth manipulation to create and hurl massive boulders, summon monkeys and a war cry that boosts allies strength. The giant spider could shoot spiderwebs, spit venom and summon small venenos spiders.
After giving them a silly name, Drake stored his shadows and they waited for another minute before being transferred back to the blue obelisk.
Drake immediately opened his inventory and noticed the two bosses' trophies along with two flags. He was worried the game had glitched or something since he didn't get the trophies after killing the bosses nor was it in their inventory.
"Helena, I have the trophies. Now what do I do?"
Helena hovered in front of him, she had been by his side in camouflage this whole time, only revealing herself when she was asked a question.
"Can I take them from your inventory? They will be destroyed once I use them."
"Go ahead." Drake didn't care about the trophies, he only wanted to unlock more maps.
Helena got to work quickly. Soon her screen flashed many codes and said:
"I have established a stable connection with another Ark."
"Do you know which one?"
Helena nodded and said, "code name: Ragnarok"
"Do you know what the next Ark map will be?" Drake asked.
"No idea."
Drake wondered if it was random or if it would follow the canon from the game. Drake shrugged and forgot about it, then he looked at Diablos and asked him to gather one hundred of those who built the town and one hundred of those who gathered the materials for the bosses.
Soon, two hundred demons half knelt in front of Drake. He briefly explained to them about the new map, and that they would have the same mission of building a base and gathering the materials for the bosses.
Before Drake could ask Helena to teleport them, she said lowly:
"Drake, I can't teleport this many with me. At most 10 people is possible."
"No problem." Drake said before asking the demons to get in his shadow.
Only one hour and thirty minutes have passed since he made his wishes. His mother and aunt were still talking about everything that happened after she died.
Drake wanted to just drop the demons in the new map and come back to keep increasing their strength.
Nodding to Helena, she began to activate the teleportation and along with the primordials, they vanished from the spot with a blue light.
They teleported on a vast grassland. Drake looked at the sky and looked at the green obelisk behind him not far away.
He took the demons out of his shadow and told him:
"Same thing as before, go to the obelisk and check what we need for the bosses. The ones responsible for building, try to be more creative, just squared houses don't look that good. If you want to go back to the center, which is the previous map, go to the terminal of the green obelisk and hit the 'travel to other arks' option, it should be available, if not, then after doing the bosses I'll take you to the next map or back to the center. You decide."
"Understood, lord." The demons said in unison.
Drake nodded satisfied and turned back to Helena. She nodded and activated the teleportation again.
Back at the blue obelisk, Drake and the primordials headed back to the castle. Ponta was sleeping belly up near the blue obelisk's terminal. She looked adorable and Drake picked her up in his arms waking her up, then noticing Drake, she felt asleep again.
Walking inside the castle, Drake saw his mother and aunt laughing and his father smiling.
"Mom, dad, are you ready? Or do you need more time?"
His mother seemed reluctant to part with her sister but she still said:
"Yes, we're ready. If we sleep for too long, please take care of Nina."
"Of course, I'll protect her." Drake agreed.
"Son, what is your plan?" Raul asked.
"I have a plan, but I don't know if it would succeed. I want you to eat the fruit of might that will increase your strength, that way, in theory, the time you sleep will be shorter."
Both his parents tremble when he mentioned fruits, thinking it would taste disgusting too. Seeing their faces, Drake reassured them:
"Don't worry, it shouldn't taste that bad, but since you're technically still only humans, it might make you feel like you will burst from all the energy it contains. So it's your choice if you want to eat it now or after you have assimilated with the strength I'll give you."
Both his parents thought for a moment, they wanted to wake up sooner so taking another fruit might be the better choice right?
"What about me nephew? Can I become stronger too?"
Drake looked at the petite body of her aunt and shook his head no, "no auntie, you are too young, you can't even take the fountain of youth, unless you want to stay in your 15 year old body forever, there's nothing we can do for you."
Orbelina looked down in disappointment, she had heard everything from her sister and knew that her nephew had many good things to make someone stronger, but she didn't want to stay this young forever, she wanted to grow up first.
"Don't worry sis, you'll grow up soon. Meanwhile, enjoy your youth. What do you want to do now? Perhaps going to school?"
Orbelina's eyes lit up, she always wanted to go back to school but soon her eyes dimmed again.
"How can I assist school? In paper, I'm already dead."
"I think Helena can help with that. She can make you fake documents so you can attend school."
Helena hovering beside Drake immediately agreed, "That's right, I can make all the necessary documents. I can even make you an old background and nobody will notice anything. We just need a very good printer, which I already designed."
Orbelina became happy when she heard Helena's words, she also thought Helena looked cute with her little antennas that looked like a cat.
"Thank you Helena, you're really cute."
"Hehe, I know" Helena was very narcissistic.
"Here, mom, dad, eat this."
Drake gave them the fruit of might, looking like a small orange durian. Both took it and stare at it with apprehension. Even though Drake said it didn't taste bad, they were expecting the worst just in case.
With great effort, they took the first bite.
