After two hours of working with his AIs, it was 6:00 pm when the people who wanted a job in his company started to arrive.
Drake first interviewed people for his Human Resources applicants and hire two mature women with experience. Drake offered them double the regular pay for HR specialists and many benefits paid by the company. He also told them that is was a start up company but they didn't care as long as they got paid. He also told them that they would be very busy hiring people once they were onboard.
After that Drake hired two retired soldiers as bodyguards for his building, it was all just formality since Drake would leave an archdemon protecting his server room. He allowed the two old man to relax while working and offered them great benefits which they were happy with.
When Drake was going to interview the women who came for the receptionist and secretary position he was surprised by the people who showed up. They were Jessica Jones and Felicia Hardy.
When he interviewed them, their answers were similar, they needed money for rent and they were tempted when they saw the double pay salary on the newspaper's job section. Of course they bargained for more payment from Drake which he agreed casually.
According to Helena, Jessica rents an apartment along with her sister. They both ran away from home since they were tired of being exploited by their mother, Dorothy Walker. Jessica had been adopted at 14 years old when her parents died of a car crash accident. Now she was Jessica Walker and her sister was Patricia Walker a famous teenage start but now she worked at a radio station.
While Felicia with her iconic white hair was living alone.
Helena didn't know if they had powers or not, and she didn't find any records of Black Cat or Jewel. But Drake could feel their abnormalities so he was sure they were already or were about to embrace their roles as Black Cat and Jewel. He decided to hire them and see what they would do, if they behave and worked honestly then he would help them with anything they needed but if they tried to hack or rob his technology then he would teach them a lesson.
At the end, Drake hired Felicia as his secretary and Jessica as a receptionist. They were happy with their generous salary and were enthusiastic to start their work.
Once everyone was hired and with their contracts signed, their information was instantly recorded on the company. Drake told them to start tomorrow and he decided to go to the desert since he had received a mental communication from the demon he had left in charge of the greenhouses.
According to him, there were many people waiting for him. Some from oil companies and others from the media looking to interview him. Drake felt a headache but decided to show up and see how things go.
After sending Orbelina and Esprit to the Ark dimension, Drake asked Helena to teleport him to his office on the reception building he had made yesterday with the help of the demons. Drake knew he would have many visitors and had asked the one in charge, Werner, who was a demon under Testarossa, to receive all visitors and accommodate them in the reception building.
Drake appeared in his office and took the elevator to the first floor. When he arrived, he saw around 200 people in the reception hall, all wearing suits and with suitcases, Drake wearing casual clothes looked out of place but no one commented anything and Drake address everyone:
"I didn't expect so many visitors just after one day of opening business, forgive my late appearance, we are short handed and are still recruiting people. It make take a while but I'll address everyone interested in buying oil first. Then, I'll speak with those looking for jobs and finally I'll answer the reporters questions at the end."
No one argued and around 60 people started introducing themselves, they were from companies looking to buy his oil. They had come prepared with contracts and offers deals. Drake took them to a different hall and listened to everyone.
They first asked how much oil can his company produce daily. How was his price per barrel. If he would offer delivery and if they could send someone to supervise their work.
Drake answered all their questions with a calm smile and explained that he didn't have truck oils yet but he was working on getting them. Then, he explained that there was no limit of production and it depended on how many trucks they could send to receive it. Finally Drake stated that the price for his oil was 100$ per barrel but since he didn't have transportation he would offer a 10% discount to those who send oil trucks for their oil.
Hearing the discount many of the representatives eyes' light up an readily stated they would send their own transportation vehicles. Those who were only at two hours from his location were the most enthusiastic since it was closer. They would save a lot of money.
After updating their contracts all of them asked ridiculous amounts of oil making Drake signed at his lack of knowledge. Of course, he was not afraid of running out of oil since it was infinite and readily agree to sell them all they asked for in a stipulated amount of time. Half of the representatives offered to send their of transportation vehicles and the other half expected delivery. This was only the first day since he founded the company and the number of oil sold was astronomical.
After they all stood to leave, they all said to expect the payment for the oil within 24 hours. Just for this sales Drake made 120 billions since every representative asked for 2 billions worth of oil for the next two years.
After all the representatives left, Drake had a meeting with more than 100 people who wanted to work for him. They all were interested in the benefits Drake had promised. Free lodging, three meals, free healthcare, dental care and a generous salary.
Drake wasn't demanding since their jobs would be easy, he just wanted them to be honest. He told them that he would review their history and they could expend the day in one of the apartment buildings. After handing their resume, they followed a demon who Drake ordered to accommodate them on one of the apartments building.
He still didn't have an HR department in the desert so he had Helena looked into everyone and tell him if he needed to know anything worrisome about them. Helena quickly looked them up and said some had a minor criminal record, and some were using fake IDs because were illegal.
Since there were not spies or dangerous criminals, Drake decided to hire them giving everyone a chance. To those who were illegal, Drake decided to give them a chance too since Drake didn't discriminate people, everyone had their hardships and people only wanted to make money to support their families.
After deciding to hire everyone, Drake would inform them tomorrow when he had the contracts ready.
Drake then went back to the waiting hall where three reporters along with their camera crew were ready to interview him.
Drake asked where they wanted to make the interview and they didn't hesitate to make while walking along his oil pumps and greenhouses. Drake entertained them and gave them a tour of his desert.
While they walked, they asked questions like who would be managing his oil pumps, how much oil did he expect to collect, if it was true he had just signed a contract with 60 different companies for 120 billion worth of oil, that was more than 120 millions barrels of oil in two years.
Drake answered calmly, stating his confidence on not running out of oil in many years which made the reporters widen their eyes at how big the deposit of oil was. He also explained how the oil pumps were automated and one just needed to open the tap and fill the trucks directly.
The reporters didn't forget to inquire about the greenhouses, they asked how had he managed to build the ridiculous buildings since they were transparent and saw that they lack support inside. They were also curious on how much did he expect to produce, why did he build in the desert in the first place and how long has he been growing the crops since they could see from outside that the crops had already grown.
Drake didn't mention the crops were only one day old, but said he had transplanted them, he also informed them that the vegetables and fruits grown here didn't used any kind of pesticide and only used natural fertilizer.
The reporters had also made their homework and asked how had he managed to build everything in just one day.
Drake didn't hide from them and asked some demons to make a demonstration and built a small greenhouse then destroyed it. The reporters were dumbfounded when they noticed how with a blue light everything appeared out of thin air. Drake patiently explained to them that it was a new technology his company had worked on. He also told them that his company would be releasing new technology for the public next month.
Having recorded everything and satisfied with everything they witnessed, the reporters left in high spirits and promised to promote his company's technology.
It was already 8:30 pm when he was left alone. The sky was already dark but the oil pumps field and the greenhouses were brightly illuminated by lamps everywhere.
Before going to his Ark Dimension, Drake gave Werner materials and a blueprint for a warehouse he wanted them to build.
The warehouse would be used to process and pack the products from the greenhouses. He still needed to hire people for that. He decided to hire a HR team on the desert so they could recruit people for all the jobs he was generating.
