Chapter Eleven: The Wish-Fulfilling Tree
Did you notice the tint of devilish ambition in Kutti's mind? Actually, he was able to see through the secret fact that Masterji was testing him once again--this time by pretending to have a fatal heart attack. And that was why he succeeded in passing the test with flying colours, thus winning Masterji's heart along with the key to the hidden treasure of priceless magic tricks.
Following this incident, Kutti didn't have to look back any more. After gaining a huge unfair advantage over other disciples, he learnt all the tricks from his master quite effortlessly. And then, on a cold evil night, taking Masterji's life that he had once desired to save even at the cost of his own dear life, began his historic journey to establish his total supremacy over his rivals on earth and beyond in the field of sorcery or black magic. In this way, he also earned his nickname Mag B, that means 'Magus Black'. And you perhaps know a magus is a magician.
To date, he's achieved so many inconceivable magical feats that no ordinary or extraordinary magicians can ever dream of competing with him or protesting against his dishonest ugly magical deeds. And that's why he has punished Ravin in an exemplary manner. How should he tolerate the audacity of the person who is only a bagatelle to him?
Well, so far as I can remember, these are all I've been able to collect about Mag B's life mostly from his own disciples. Now, let me go to the monastery to make preparations for the first major part of my journey to the underworld.
Here I resume. I need to speed up feeling so hungry. If I could conjure up food, that'd be great. But, alas, I'm no magician. First I've got to walk all the way to the monastery and then make myself acquainted with the inmates, and finally meet their head monk, my friend, and ask him to make arrangements for my lunch. It'll take a fairly long time. What's more, there're no food stalls or shops around here. If I came across a wish-fulfilling tree or kalpavriksha, then it'd. . .. Oh, you don't know the story of the weary man and a kalpavriksha, do you?
Okay, no problem! Let me tell you the tale in the course. Well, once a poor man felt really tired out while walking through a woodland. The nearest locality was miles away. But hungry, thirsty, and weary, he found it almost impossible to trudge any farther forward and decided to take some rest under a large tree that was right beside. He sat under it with a kind of breeze gently starting to blow over his head. He felt some sort of comfort and said to himself, 'If I got some food to eat with some drink. . ..' In the twinkling of an eye, there were loads of delicious food and drink presented before him. What a delight! The man just fell to gobbling them to his heart's content. Next he began to think, 'Now that my hunger and thirst are all satisfied, I feel like sleeping for a while. If I got a bed in this place. . ..' What a surprise! There was a very soft king-size feather bed presented before him immediately. And the silly man just thudded into it immensely pleased. He didn't feel the need to think about how and by whom those things were being provided. Then, lying down, he desired, 'If I got a servent to massage my body. . ..' And there appeared one at once and started massaging his legs. A little later, the man again thought, 'I've got whatever I've wished so far. I'm so happy here. But what if a tiger came out of the woods and pounced on me?' No sooner did he think like this, a fearful tiger came out roaring and pounced on the wretch in no time.
Do you know the whys and the wherefores of the story? Actually, the man unknowingly sat under a wish-fulfilling tree or a mythical kalpavriksha, which is said to fulfil all someone desires sitting or standing under or near it. Dear readers! Would you like to find out such a tree for yourselves? If you say yes, then please try to have full control over your mind first or else the inevitable result would be utter ruination. Am I not right?
Oh, there's the monastery in sight at last. Let me get in, refresh, and have lunch. Goodbye until then. Glory to God!
