Vast Lehatot Mansion.
Inside the Victor's study.
Who am I, why am I here, what do I do?
Jack sat on the couch next to the coffee table, in front of him sat Salvation(T2).
Damn this ring, damn this teenager hormonal body of Jack's!
And damn that Drafting Paper! What do you mean this is another effect and not a negative effect?
Jack's body significantly grew physically, akin to someone that trained for a month and a half, his face no longer as soft and his jaw sharper.
His neck was also thicker and his skin slightly more rougher texture.
He now looks less like a young man and more like a proper adult.
But that was not important, Jack was in a constant struggle, a struggle to not shame himself in front of a woman.
On the coffee table a few papers, written in much more beautiful cursive handwriting than Victor's type writer type of hand writing.
"Please read then ask me questions."-Salvation
She spoke, the same way how'd someone would speak to someone you had yet to open up.
While seemingly unimportant, this was a good step for Salvation socially since she was a spirit her social side was greatly shaped by how she died, she had a very hard time opening up to other people that she didn't trust and didn't spend a significant amount of time with.
Right I can use this to distract myself..
Focus..
The paper writing warped and turned back to it's original text.
No wait first I'll read it then analyze the original language..
The text changed back.
Right..
The text read:
'Spell casting, and why building spells in the ancient languages of Romanian and English get better effects.'
Jack's struggle faded instantly.
English? Romanian? Wait a moment I do remember that Victor said that using Latin based languages can get better effects from spells..
English I get it, it was popular back on earth but Romanian? How did it get here and why? Why not Mandarin?
"Umm.. Where do those two 'ancient' languages came from?"-Jack
"Read."-Salvation
Not helpful..
'Originating from the ancient Eltarian Empire that fell seven hundred years ago, introduced by the First Emperor Rover it they hold up to this day as the best possible spell chanting and making languages.'
Eltar.. where did I hear that name before?
"Where does the name 'Eltaria' come from?"-Jack
Salvation pointed to another paper on the table and said.
"From the founding myth."-Salvation
Jack quickly skimmed it and found the line.
'Emperor Rover stood upon the throne at the heart of AHIH jungle and declared, in thy honor, you red cloaked ranger that took care of many children in the absence of their parents.'
'I name this land Eltaria'
Red Cloaked Ranger.. Eltaria.. The power rangers? So emperor Rover was a Transmigrator? And this Rover liked this Ranger?
Ranger.. Rover? Range Rover? ITS A PUN?
What is wrong with this emperor?
After that Jack was focused on learning more about the two languages, and the theories behind them and why do they work better than other languages.
During that time Jack learned a few new things, he planned on using this new information to bypass the natural limit of his Natural Compression Rate of his body.
And possibly even surpass Naturally gifted individuals.
First of all, English was better than Romanian in terms of spell casting, with the latter being used by the scholars of the old empire institutionally rather than for spellcasting.
Second, he learned the fact that as long as the words had energy contained in them the 'will' that the words represented could activate.
There was this old practice since before the fallen empire, of using symbols that contained the meaning of something to make clay tablets that contained spells, apparently elves still held the info about the practice.
But compared to Jack's charm the tablets had the massive weakness of only being able to last for at most a week.
Jack's charms were specifically unique, since the ink that the mutated pen made contained energy in a way that retained the energy for an estimate of even ten years! Not only that it compressed it in ways that allowed tremendous amounts of energy to be contained.
As for the last piece of information, Jack learned that the theory as to why English and Romanian was better and more efficient at spellcasting, which was proposed by a Mysterious Great Mage called Conan who was later Exiled.
The reason for his Exile was also the later addition to the theory which was not accepted.
The whole theory explains that there is a creature of which all magic stems from, whenever you cast a spell you ask it to do something in exchange for energy, such as life-force or mana.
And that entity understood those two languages better, or the usage of them or similar languages got its attention better.
The theory was only widely accepted only after other mages changed the theory from 'entity' to 'the world'.
As for the reason for his exile, it was because he proposed that the Entity was the god of the Ancient Empire, which the transmigrated Emperor Rover introduced. If he were born before the fall of the empire he would have been widely praised due to tying God to the Entity, but after the fall of the empire the main God eventually became considered an Evil god Or the Source of Evil itself.
The rest of the things he learned were etiquette and how to speak properly and politely inside a Noble Household.
